Ned Declassified is so underrated. Even though Nick doesn't see the value in having a reboot, I love that Devon, Lindsey and Daniel decided to bet on themselves and start a podcast anyway. Something I really apreciated about this show is that unlike other shows at the time (*cough cough- Zoey 101) Most of the times the main characters didn't "Win" or had they plans go perfectly, like in the daydreaming episode, even tho Ned answered the riddle right, when he arrived to the cafeteria he was the only one who didn't get pizza. It really helped and teached kids that most of the times "winning everytime" or having everything come your way isn't a realistic turn of events.

My favorite moment on Ned's Declassified was in the music class episode when Ned says he wants to rock like the Foo Fighters, Incubus... and Everclear, and the music teacher says "Never heard of them". The crazy thing was that the music teacher was actually played by the lead singer of Everclear, and the song he performs about wanting to be a rockstar is actually a song BY Everclear (my favorite song of theirs lol). I'm not even the biggest fan of Everclear, but this was such a cool thing to learn about and helped me to really respect them.
@Lechuga1815 Жыл бұрын
That's my favorite episode, while I never became a rockstar. I definitely remember that episode for teaching me about how even the basics and fundamentals are important for every activity you do. And it also gave me a lasting perspective on practice vs talent. Also, It was pretty cool when I realized it was the lead singer from Everclear. Although, it was pretty Everclear that he wasn't a normal actor from the beginning.

One thing I liked about the show is that the teachers (even the strict ones) were shown to ultimately want what is best for the students rather than being portrayed as complete adversaries. The teachers might still at times be the conflict but they were always shown to have good intentions. I think shows that portray teachers as these evil beings that want to destroy all fun and fail everyone really do a disservice to both the students who see that and the teachers who teach them. So seeing a show that portrays teachers as not being somebody you want to be dealing with but who ultimately wants to see you succeed is much better than a lot of other shows I have seen.

This is one of those shows that has survived the test of time. When they first advertised it, I didn't really care for it. I saw it as Nick trying to sort through the leftovers of what Disney had done with their live action shows. I never got into Ned's Declassified as I was feeling too old for it when it came out. However, seeing the main trio still hanging out as friends warms my heart. I love that for them, and probably would get into the series if it did get rebooted just for that. Mainly because it sounds like it would become a passion project of sorts, and I wish that for them!

As someone who watched this show in Germany I always thought they were in highschool and not middle school! I think that was mostly because the German voice actors don't sound like middle schoolers (especially cookie in my opinion) and it always such a weird feeling to hear the actor's actual voice like I know they are young and you can tell they are young by looking at them but it's always fucking with my head

The video most of us were waiting in your channel, I agree with everything you said, a fantastic show that I treasure deeply in my heart, indeed it still affects me to this day too, although I might not remember every single tip, but I still remember a good chunk of moments the characters passed through.

I was a bit too old for this show to have had the same impact on me that it did for you, but watching this, I realized that I remembered a lot more of this than I thought I did. And honestly, that’s a sign of a good show, I think, where even though it wasn’t for you personally, you could still enjoy some of it.

If they decide to do a continuation of the show, I would like to think Ned becomes a guidance counselor so middle schoolers for a new generation. It would be a great passing of the torch and find a way to add More and Cookie

Ned’s declassified was always such a fascinating show to me, because I’m from Denmark and we don’t have schools divided as you do in the States. I always watched it with both a “I know this is a very over-the-top satirical way of portraying how a middle school is in America” but also a sort of “huh, so this is what it’s like” kind of mix - I grew up with various sitcoms and movies portraying middle and high schools and I always had a little dream of wanting to move to the states to experience it on my own, and I know this sounds weird, but this show sort of gave me a way to experience that without having to move of course. I could sort of pretend for a bit. Because Ned still gave pretty solid, albeit generic, advice that either I could kind of use or let me see that children in America could. And that gave me a small peek into what it was like to go to a middle school (but taken with a grain of salt as I knew this wasn’t a documentary😅) plus I always really liked that it was advices given from a kid to other kids, which made it more believable in some way, if that makes sense. Really loved this video man!

I grew up with this show, and no lie my middle school shop teacher: 1) had his classroom in a very dark and kinda scary basement And 2) was missing 3 fingers, which he claimed was specifically from the shop equipment And when I say I was TERRIFIED of shop after that, even though it ended up being a pretty cool class

Hmm, you know that if Ned's Declassified continued into High School then it would of gone a little something like this High School: It can be on Nickelodeon and or Teen Nick "or both at the same time" which would discuss a little more serious issues, problems, etc on how to tackle day to day life when in High School "yes, even friends and teachers there as well". College/University and or Tech and Trade School: It can be on Nick & Nite and would cover topics about the stress in being away from home in a very big college/university or home at a local college and dealing with even more problematic topics that High School and Middle School Survival Guides couldn't cover. I will note that they can do a College/University and or Tech and Trade school at any time since nobody is too young and or too old to attend further education "aka, College/University and Trade and Tech Schooling"
I loved this show as a kid. I didn’t even know much I watched it as a kid until I started listening to the Podcast rewatch and I remember each episode from the description that Devon, Lindsay and Daniel are talking about. TeenNick must have reran the show after it went off a lot or I caught new episodes without knowing it. It’s insane, and weirdly this show holds up.

I'm a grown man over 50 and love this show because it feels something like the school experience I had, only much funnier. For me it is almost as funny as any of the really worthwhile adult-oriented sitcoms that have come and gone. Plus, they did a smart thing and did not pump in canned laughter in post production, thank goodness! NDSSG is zany fun with lots of laughs and characters who we grow to care about ... all the characters, give or take a few. it's just too bad there had to be cast changes. Would've loved to have kept Jm J Bullock throughout the entire run, and I did not care for the Miami Vice wannabe guy at all but I suspect a lot of fans enjoyed his antics and facial expressions. Also, some very fun minor characters did not get nearly enough time, and we wanted more of them (I'm talking to you, School Newspaper Kid! You were awesome in this cast but they hardly ever seemed to include you, sadly.). Running gags were plentiful in the show, and my favorite might be how Jerry Crony (perfect last name there, hahah), Billy Loomer's flunky and pal, is secretly a member of the Sewing Club. Anyway, it's nice to see a deep dive into the show here. Although there was too much time dedicated in the video to reboot possibility, but that's just me being fussy. I don't pine for a new show about the characters, but I do understand that reboots are what many fans crave today. I just want to enjoy the original three seasons every so often, and soak in the cartoony goodness. Lastly: If anyone hasn't seen the show and wants to check it out, I believe it's on Paramount+, and the first two seasons are on Netflix (why they don't have all three seasons is a mystery).

Thanks for reminding me of this show man, i remember watching it all the time and it's probably one of the major things that helped me get through the hellhole that was my middle school. So many memories returning rn

Honestly the Zoey 101 reboot feels very strange considering that Jamie Lynn Spears and her dad treated her sister Britney horrible with the Free Britney Movement.

I'm feeling like they didn't greenlight it because they knew that if they made the adult version of the show, it would be too powerful in our society. The big dogs wouldn't be able to keep us down if we actually had information about how to successfully live and manage our lives. Imagine how different our lives would be if we had the information to work on the things that keep us down!

I still hold this belief: Scott Fellows > Dan Schneider any day of the week, not even just them as humans, but BTR and Ned's are way better to watch back than Zoey and ICarly, as the jokes aren't funny now that I have a fully developed brain. I realized I was more interested in the premise of the shows (boarding school, online famous website/show) than the actual characters themselves. Probably the more "controversial" part of my take: Drake and Josh is still a good watch, but I cannot watch Dan Schneider shows because the actors themselves are not good people and are reminders of their bad deeds and Dan's. For example: Drake Bell, Jamie Lynn, Christopher Massey (for defending Kyle Massey's latest... Drake Bell activities), etc. His shows also had the ab•se of Alexa Nikolas (bullied by the Zoey 101 cast and Dan. She even later received an apology from the Britney Spears herself who confirmed Alexa's events) and Jennette McCurdy (it's detailed in her book what Dan did, but she was also gr••med by a writer on the show she had known since she was underage, who began dating her when she turned 18 *barf*). It's hard for me to see these shows filled with people who would turn out to be crap and/or people who were struggling with so much. It just makes me sad. While Ned's cast went through hardships after the ending of Ned's, the set itself wasn't harmful and you can tell they enjoyed their time on Ned's, it was the ending that messed them up

This show struck gold with its cast, main and supporting cast alike. Captured the zany "live action cartoon" aspect I liked about the Adventures of Pete & Pete, even if not quite as surrealistically existensial.

I wrote a high school handbook as a creative writing exercise in 2010 and reading it 15 years later I find that it still applies in a ways I guess I shouldn’t be surprised about. Ned’s was an awesome series and I think we all saw it as just entertainment, with maybe a handful of takeaways which actually proved useful.
