Im on 255/35 R18 on 9x18 +35 wheels and there is no rubbing at all. And your car has to come a little more down to earth. 😁 Looks way better, when there is not that much space (like for a skyscraper or so) between the wheel and the fender. 😉

Its coming. Stay tuned. 😉

Did you lower as well? Did you adjust anything dave?
@dave_R_GR Жыл бұрын
@@kikorona I've got a KW Clubsport basically as low as needed for good track performance. I adjusted camber so that it's not rubbing anywhere with 255/35 R18 Semislicks on 9.5x18 +45 wheels.

Strutt clearance? Bumps?

I have the the TX105X in 9.5inch with 255 tyres and no rubbing. Fits perfectly. The car looks so much better with fat tyres and better offset +39. The stock size looks so wrong on this car.
@FranzGaw2 жыл бұрын
Ohh you got the special +39 offset. Lucky you! I had to get mine in 9.0" +32 cause I didn't want to get the +45 offset 9.5" wheel. I'd need to install wheel spacers for that set if I wanted to run more negative camber. Also went for the tallest tire I could get away with cause I still wanted plenty ground clearance when I lower the car.
@dejan.2 жыл бұрын
Your 255 is likely 35 profile though and that’s why.

Where did you buy the tpms? And the fit of the tires and wheels look very nice
@FranzGaw2 жыл бұрын
My dad had a spare set at home so that's what we used. It's the exact same TPMS that Toyota's fitted on the stock wheels.

You should have mounted the Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires on the WedsSport TC105X wheels. They are superior tire over the Yokohama tires.
@FranzGaw Жыл бұрын
The Cup 2's are the more aggressive and track-focused tire for sure. They are also more expensive and wear out faster. I drive my GR Yaris on a daily basis so I stuck with the AD08R.

Looks great but you should have gone with 255 profile 35. ......ET 32 on 9 inch looks like it will rub somewhere as at front it looks as it is sticking out. You will need camber at front. I reckon.
@FranzGaw2 жыл бұрын
String Theory Garage runs the same set up and even lowered the car with no problems. Will definitely be adding more camber up front cause I'll be taking this to the track next time
@wanchogtr90432 жыл бұрын
@@FranzGawEven if String Theory Garage runs that setup doesn't mean its correct as you have installed a taller tyre making the overall diameter bigger meaning your speedometer will be off too. you should always try and keep the diameter as close as stock.
@FranzGaw2 жыл бұрын
I dont mind the taller tire making the speedometer reading a bit off. I really purposely went for the tallest tire I could get that still cleared of rubbing for the car for reasons you might not understand.
@wanchogtr90432 жыл бұрын

Heavier wheels = Slower laptimes?
@FranzGaw2 жыл бұрын
The tires are what made the set up heavy. Guess I traded off some straight line performance for some cornering grip 🤷♂️
@dave_R_GR2 жыл бұрын
Not necessarily. Semi slicks are always heavier, because they have more rubber, but they provide so much more grip for corners, that the weight deficit is no problem.

In this case, mas valuable pa ata kasi yung stock wheels kaya may reason magpalit wahahaha
@gregg78692 жыл бұрын
You gained 2kg per wheel - that’s actually A LOT OF GAIN WIGHT !!! That’s 8kg unsprung weight added to the car! That’s really bad you know! The 245 width won’t give you a lot of advantage over the stock 225 ( maybe if you go full ham and time attack on Tsukuba ;] ). But the 8kg unsprung weight gives you a lot of disadvantages : like steering feedback and 1kg unsprung weight is like 7kg normal weight, so you basically added 56kg!! Weight to your car ;)
@FranzGaw2 жыл бұрын
2kg per wheel AND TIRE*. I actually lost 2kg per wheel haha. The tires are the heavy ones. And if your concern is that the car wont see the race track, it definitely will. 🤣
@gregg78692 жыл бұрын
@@FranzGaw Yes 2kg per complete wheel set (wheel and tire) was ADDED!! 17.9kg vs 19.8kg so you added 8kg unsprung wight to your car which is around 56kg normal wight! With the choice of this heavy tire, you basically worsened the good properties like handling of the car for the looks. And i guarantee you won't see better times on the racetrack with those tires!! If you went with 235/40 or 245/35 Michelin Pilot Sport 4s or Cup2, you would have had basically the same weight as the OEMs ( around 18kg )!
@FranzGaw2 жыл бұрын
We'll just have to see how fast these tires are then 😁
@dave_R_GR2 жыл бұрын
If you don't run the car sportive, you will basically don't even feel the difference in weight. On the handling side, the wider wheel and bigger offset will feel different. And if you go full beans, there is A LOT more performance in the 245 AD08R vs a 225 PS4S.
@jbt61212 жыл бұрын
