I played Halo CE on LASO and it was very hard and unfun and I didn't really want to. But you people kept asking me to do it so whatever. I am a man of the people and whatever makes you happy makes me happy (that's a lie).

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS "Why does your reticle come back?" As I explain in the video, the Malfunction skull disables a random HUD element. It *happened* to be the reticle the first time, and every new life, it changes to something else. *This is explained at the start of the video* "How do you throw a plasma grenade on 343 Guilty Spark?" Good question. You still spawn with plasma nades on levels where you do normally, and 343 is one of them. I didnt even realize this while making the video, but I do address it on Two Betrayals.

So you can quit out right as you die in laso, and if you go back to the Playlist and hit resume you will have a checkpoint saved. That'll save you so much trouble for the rest of the Laso challenges in different Halos. I can't imagine having a perfect run in Laso I died so many times doing all of the Laso's! 😂

@@zantku even on standard legendary T&R took me 3 hours my first time playing it blind. If you run out of sniper ammo, none of the ammo caches have another one so you are power weapon less.

Oof, coming across this video now and seeing all the tricks and skips almost makes me want to cry. My buddy and I have been going through the whole Halo series doing LASO; started in Reach just over a year ago, and now we're almost through Halo 3. We're not speedrunners or experts, though, and we've refused to look up any guides; we're just going through based on our own casual-player knowledge. It took us 46.5 hours over 15 different sessions to finally beat just CE, we're over a 170 hours invested into the whole run so far: I'm keeping a spreadsheet of it. Thanks for the inspiration to keep going, though!

Following your respective video guides I was able to beat Hale CE and Halo 2 under 3 hours and now...finally...also got the Halo CE LASO Playlist achievement. No glitches used outside of the despawn trick on Two Betrayals (which you skipped ironically) and early Gondola in Regret. Now Im pumped to start Halo 2 LASO, hope I wont have to figure out the entire run by myself *wink-wink*. Thanks for your "regular guy" guides, wouldnt have been able to complete any of those without their help :)

for whatever reason you still have them in levels where you'd normally spawn with them I mention this in TB because it takes away the starting plasma pistol but not grenades

Every time I restart or save and quit, it changes. You must have just missed the explanation when I was explaining all the skulls at the very start.

Getting onto the ship for Truth and Reconciliation was the hardest thing I've done in a video game save for the prison skip in Gravemind in Halo 2. I recorded every death for LASO for CE-4, and I had over 1,000 screencapped deaths that I have been tossing around the idea of making into a supercut. Edit: seeing you just completely skip that area hurt my feelings.

Yes, if you save and quit on the MCC version and resume checkpoint from the menu, the Skull is nullified essentially. In some ways it's easier in certain parts than having a co-op partner but I would have definitely liked one on parts like the grav lift room fight in truth and rec, lol.

@@ando2821if you want to try one first go for OdST you don’t even need to really do any tricks, I was able to finish odst laso in like 15 hoursish and I’m bad, now I did the save and quit method, and used a feature of my monitor that can add a reticle to my screen to combat the blind skull

This is what I'm currently working on as well. I'm on the 9th mission and am trying to learn how to do the flood bump to bypass the whole level. So far the hardest missions were Truth and Reconciliation and The Library. Both of these are brutal. Silent Cartographer and Assault on the Control Room were the easiest missions. Silent Cartographer gives you so many supplies and there's no real difficult parts and the banshee grab trick makes Assault on the Control Room super duper easy. Edit: just finished Halo CE LASO

A tip for LASO runs. Take a tiny piece of coloured tape or piece of stickynote (or something similar), start up the game normally, lightly stick your tape on the screen where the reticle is. Congrats you now have a reticle that the game cant take away

For level 2 halo, when ships 4 and 5 drop you can run back towards the beginning of the level where the bridge is. This despawns waves 1-3 if you haven’t cleared them yet, and on waves 4 and 5 which drop at the same time it will spread them out while the pelican drops the hog. All you need to do is run along the right or left side along the wall and you should be able to skip both waves without them noticing you and take the hog to finish the level

A memory from 23 years ago. My cousin and I were co-oping Legendary because I wanted to "see the real ending." We spent forever on it as we were young and incredibly bad. After failing over, and over and over and over again on the final mission we managed to make it to the end of the game and saw the infamous 'real ending.' My cousin sat there, stunned. "We did all that just to see a dude hug an alien?!" I still don't think he has forgiven me.

My brother and I didn’t know about the ammo backpack reload when we did it coop. Our solution? Melee kill every flood. Save bullets for the carrier forms. Otherwise just melee kill. We hoarded shotgun shells and rockets till the last two ish rooms and burned through it all in a sprint to the Index. I think it took 8 hours for us to get through. Slow and steady, beating every combat form to death.

One thing I like about the ce laso is the black eye skull is instant any hit instead of charging up on kill only. Makes it very fun to use otherwise.
