Destiny 2 OOB: The Promethean Code Room

This time we're looking at the Promethean Code and the room below it. Didn't go into the elevator room, but I'll leave that as an exercise for the viewer ;)
The first area can be done with regular oobing methods, with a bit of barrier push at the end. The lower room takes an IRB/Drop Box combo.

Just some more info for you since you didn’t play d1, the prometheon code area was the first two rooms but the elevator and last room was part of a secret heroic version of prometheon code, which was only used for the touch of malice quest line not sleeper. And the last room that you IRBd to is one of the few places in D1 that you can only reach by IRB (or the quest) since usually you can just wall breach into most places in D1 but not that room.

Neat :D Part of the reason I haven't done as much on the Cosmodrome is that there's so much stuff I simply have no context for. No clue if it's unused, or just old D1 stuff, unless I bother one of the D1 vets...

@@DabiToyaTodoroki1 There was a quest step in the Touch of Malice quest that had you playing an extended version of the Promethean Code story mission, so yes it had plenty to do with the ToM quest

If I recall correctly that super long hash on the monitors was decoded to mention something about being attached to the Seraph network. Back then this corresponded to the lore of the unseen "Seven Seraphs" and their supposed involvement with the creation of the Warmind and his arsenal, among other things. But honestly that storyline was mostly dropped a long time ago in favour of focusing on the S E R A P H T O W E R S E V E N T S

All of the myth and reverence traded upon to create a narrative fixture in which they created one of the most boring seasonal activities ever. Thank god the bunker upgrades themselves were interesting. Visually stunning to see those defunct bunkers come back to life as you reawakened Raz' old systems. It's a shame we lost them.

I hope so. That storyline has been on hold for a while, annoyingly. I still remember people hoping that the Fallen SABER strike would have gotten a revised story because of it involving Rasputin.

We've had the same "outside of milky way" location in the game since like, almost two years ago. They definitely don't like to remove things, but we will see if they use them. Usually if people find OoB areas that look like they're significant, they get used. This is a special exception though, so it's a bit of a wildcard.

I think I remember seeing someone get into this room back in season of the chosen? Might not have been that season but it was around then, after dmt was released. There was an exotic scout rifle ornament hidden in collections for a short while that later got removed. I expected them to bring back ToM back then, but I think it's still likely that they'll bring it back at some point in the near future.

Part of the questline for it involves a Heroic version of the Promethean Code mission. I think the step is called "Hunger Pangs". This is goin' off of old guides for Touch of Malice.

Did that scannable exist in D1? It’s very interesting there’s actually an intractable there and it does nothing. Most OOB areas are barren. My theories on what this was/could be used for are: Outbreak Perfected catalyst as bungie did say they wanted to make unique quests for them but never got around to it, maybe where we go in the future to revive Rasputin, or if KF comes back we may get the touch of malice quest again.

I think it existed in D1, but naturally I don't know if it did anything then. D1 has had a strong history of useless out of map scannables. They exist in Reservoir, Volundr, Glykon, Scourge, and others. Apart from Reservoir which has a placeholder line, they're mostly just have nothing.

it was there in D1, said something about the old warminds or Rasputin or something. Bungo doesn't really do scannables for weapons, catalysts or quests, the're usually only small details about story or bits of lore. Not really sure why this area was even added, I guess it may have just been easier

While the area does orginate in D1, this wasnt left in from D1, they brought it in during the Rasputin season as part of the way to earn fellwinters lie. and just never removed it. you could allready access the commodore before it was added, by doing risk/reward mission as well. but this area wasnt a part of it at that time.

I'm thinking of becoming a gamepass member just to play destiny 2, but gamepass removes games from the library. I'm worried if destny 2 will be cancelled. What is your opinion. thanks.

destiny 2 is already off gamepass. the game itself is free and you can access all planet patrols, some strikes, and crucible. however, if you plan to glitch you would want dlc's for irb's, good sparrow, and some other small things.
