after i started following you, i got very good at playing against scholars mate, knight pins and even fried liver attack(that pattern i created my self). and i also loves the fishing pole trap. so you are something special, with your aggressive way of playing.

@@pinkladyslippers Levy's early video's were great. His more recent stuff is less education and more entertainment. I actually like Dr Can's channel the best. Igor is too "trappy" I would rather learn solid chess than play a trap. I do like to watch so I know what traps I am likely to see for the next few weeks.

It took a while for me to figure out that as a beginner I should have set puzzles to the hanging pieces motif and just practiced that for a year. But you are definitely right it only takes a day to reach a thousand. After that it's quite a bit slower.

But then white recaptures queen so black doesn't win a queen. Also whatever black does after white recaptures, white will be able to recapture the rook.(I didn't properly read your comment before responding..... Sorry but read below) Edit: after Bxf2 Kxf2 Qxd1 Bb6+ forking king and queen

I'm a beginner trying to improve and trying to lear some openings for white and black. I'd like to take notes in my little chess notebook to keep close to me when playing my friends... but I don't know how to take notes properly, chess coordinate notation I can read, but I can't visualize which tile it is. I always need to count from a,d,e,h and 1,4,5,8, any combination of those I can point quickly, others need to move from there to position the tile. Are there any exersices to learn, is it necesary or will it slowly interiorize as I keep playing more? what does the people suggest? Also, back to my original question, any good practices when taking chess notes? I'd like to complete my little notebook to take to the club instead of relying on the phone or some youtube videos when practicing.

@goodnewseverybody739
@goodnewseverybody739 10 ай бұрын
I think you should 1. Be proud you are playing above 900 that’s good for 13 with 1 year exp 2. Don’t be discouraged with loses, especially if you had good accuracy, sometimes you just get outplayed. Most players I noticed at 900 have 1-3 thousand games exp. Plus the program wants you to lose, it will just throw better players that will naturally crush you if you get on a roll. 3. Join a chess club in high school, play otb with your new friends and enter a tournament eventually.

Disagree. Around 1400-1500 all your opponents will have this basic stuff down. A 2000 player is much more strategic, with deeper knowledge of all phases (openings, middle, ENDGAME) AND being good at the tactics that Igor tends to focus on.

How we can get a Grand Master in Chess? Thank you
@CristanMeijer
@CristanMeijer 7 ай бұрын
You don't. There are about 2044 grand masters alive right now in the entire world, so that means that only one in 3 million people are a chess grandmaster. Compare that with getting an olympic medal: in one year, there are about 340 events for which medals are awarded, which makes it 340 * 3 = 1020 medals per year. So even though it's not really comparable, it's probably easier to become an olympic medalist than to become a chess grandmaster.
