It's wild how much this dude just listened to somebody and started down so many paths relatively blindly, but ultimately found a good path and stuck to it.

This guests’ whole life is a movie! Especially the part about getting robbed at gun point for his college tuition! He should definitely tell his story or write a script! Awesome job!👏🏾👏🏾

This was a great episode. Even if this guy’s numbers aren’t perfect, he is clearly a hard worker and on the path to financial success. Hope he can spend more time with family, develop strong friendships with great people, and build a thriving business now that he has his finances under control. Keep going, Joe!

A unique look into the artist’s struggle. We work just as hard as doctors, investment bankers, and corporate lawyers but don’t get a fraction of the compensation. So glad to see an artist thrive!

Great story, great job on the interview and good luck to this hard working man. Also he makes $3K a month and paid off his loan, I remember a couple who makes $17K per month with 10 rentals and didn’t want to pay their loans. Smh. Much respect to you sir!

This is so sad my mom had a mental breakdown at 88 years old. All the stress from marriage paying bills her mind could not take it. Thank God I woke up when she passed away.

So many years later I still feel his pain when he was talking about the beginning of his path. I’m so grateful for this episode. I come from background where I was kicked out of house and me and my mom left only with two department store bags. My brother stole my money during Covid and I still didn’t recover from it emotionally. And seeing Joe was reliving. His story uplifted me and kinda gave hope. Thank you 🙏

According to the description, this guy paid off 100k in loans and saved 25k in 14 months. Great. Saved 125k in 14 months. Assuming an equal savings rate, that's 107k in 12 months. To have a take home salary of 107k in California this man needs to have a 160k salary. And he gets this from a job as a waiter, bartender and then job without a title at a family winery? What's going on here?

Yeah something doesn't feel like it adds up - are these things he's saying even verified or we're all just taking his word? I'm extremely skeptical of actors or actress' - if he's legit telling the truth im happy for him but BiggerPockets did you verify this story or you just took his word at face value?

You'd be surprised I've heard this before about people who didn't finish college or go for that matter working at expensive hotels and getting tips and finding jobs by making relationships that give them 2x what I've made with all my education and student loans. It's all about working at expensive places. Hotels and restaurants in high end locations.

sunshine It’s the gambling and alcohol he does not mention at the beginning. The addictions were the reason he probably did not keep jobs and/or kept going to school in the beginning.

Great story but this guy is bad at math. He was making 3,000 a month. Budget was 500 a month leaving 2,500. But saved 25k in 3-4 months?

This is my problem with almost all of these interviews. The guests are interesting and likeable but it never really adds up as they tell it.

In the 17th min, he admitted to committing fraud. Taxpayers pick up the tab on the student loan subsidies and guarantees. The fault for universities charging ridiculous tuition for questionable degrees is not the taxpayers… it’s the university and the students
