That's a good pace for someone who is taking time to soak up all of the provided vocabulary and not just zip through the core of each lesson with a "good enough" attitude. I know I refused to go to book 2 until I stopped to take a break to practice writing down what I had learned and attempt to memorize the vocabulary words provided, which is actually requested by Trombley, before you even get into the last lesson(13). We want to be totally comfortable with understanding and forming sentences - not just being egotistical about how fast or what book we are on now. That would stump any of us in a real-world situation.

Finally finished book 1 on 28/07/2022. I learned so much cos George really knows how to make his teaching fun and how to make us understand the concepts. I've forgotten some stuff, mostly some vocab, but I'm confident that I've retained most of the important stuff such as being able to create basic sentences and understanding how to read sentences as well which I was very confused on until I came across this course. I still need to learn the counters since I don't know most of them except for the ikutsu counter and for days. I don't have the book since I can't afford it but these videos have been more than enough for me. Can't wait to learn more. Onto book 2.

9:46 lol I think there's another mistake and I'm a little confused. I do understand that it makes no sense to say 今週の7時から3時迄です。(konshuu no shichi-ji kara san-ji made desu.) because that's like saying "This week It starts 7 o'clock, ends 3 o'clock" and when you tell somebody that you're not being specific. BUT . . . pleeease correct me if I'm wrong but I feel like you're still not being specific even when you say 今週は7時から3時迄です。(konshuu wa shichi-ji kara san-ji made desu.) because even if you emphasize "this week" which is 今週 (konshuu) after that you still gave the time of "this week" without specifically saying what day. . . And even though you mention "my work this week" on 11:00 it still throws me off because it wasn't on the screen. . . but idk I'm no expert at this and have been watching these's series in order from 1-37. If anybody can help me out solve this problem that'll mean a lot. Thanks in advance!

I think it's because this sentence is the answer to the question: しごとはなんじからなんじまでですか, so it is understood that the replier is talking about his job schedule, this week in particular (こんしゅうは).
@MegaMan646 жыл бұрын
Yeah but しごとはなんじからなんじまでですか means: "What time does the Job start and end?" but to answer that by saying: こんしゅうは7じから3じまでです。which means: "This week starts 7 o'clock ends 3 o'clock" you're still not being specific because you're not giving a day like Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, etc

Soooooo I'm not sure if you check the comments on old videos George, but I have to say I've always watched anime all my life since I was a kid, I'm now 34, and I never really grasped a lot of the grammar before. Now just in 2 weeks of going through the videos, I have now ordered your series and I have to say just by these small lessons I've literally went from understanding just certain words in Anime, to now being able to REALLY understand ALOT more words and phrases I've heard for years but never really "understood" until now! I've heard them all my life but never understood how/where it came in. Koko, Soko doko, kore sore dore etc, the particle placements and meanings... Even ga/wa! I mean the smallest simplest of grammar understanding really turned it all around. I mean this literally changed my entire focus of Japanese, cleared ALOT of my confusion and have put the spark in me now to become "fluent" Someone coming from a completely lost standpoint studying in college 12-14 years ago and not really grasping any of it besides the Alphabet (Kana) and some Kanji, this makes me wish I found this series sooner. I would suggest this to anyone to get a great foundry of Japanese. HIGHLY suggest. Thanks for being an inspiration!! ありがとうございます! お疲れ様です! (not sure if this is ok to a boss/superior :))

Should we learn all the kanji in book one. I made about 100 flashcards of them during lockdown.

2022 rainbows and unicorns are STILL delicious. Although the supply chain issues are making it hard to get them. :)

Hi, I have a question! So, これから means "from now on" right? So could I say "これから, 毎日日本語の勉強をします!" and be correct? Could I put は after it to really emphasize? Like , "これからは,このアドレスにメールを送ってください"
@Dave_thenerd6 жыл бұрын
That's close but you should have a 「に」after 「毎日」to properly mark the time and to make reading the kanji easier. And 「日本語の勉強をします」means "I will do Japanese Language Study", it should be 「日本語を勉強します」to mean "I will study Japanese (the language)".
