It was so great to see how enthusiastically you have chosen to fill the need for healthy food in your community! We are older long time farmsteaders and I would say the farm, even with adversity, produced a lot more than we expected. The excess harvests were often spotty, apples one year and grapes another. With time, there are more types of bumper crops as we get it better and weather cooperates. Best to you!

That is what happened to my co-worker, she used the purple bell peppers I gave her from my garden for her spaghetti. After dinner both her and her daughter were saying how the spaghetti taste different. That it taste really good and somewhat sweet. They both were like oooo, it was the bell peppers, lol. My co-worker tells everyone that story when the subject of food comes up.

@BreakingNewRoots I think ask the homestead community. My sister homestead in Massachusetts then upper New York. Because they had a barn, they hosted a lot. Open for a homestead family visit, kid friendly, fresh produce, etc, but my family likes hiking outdoors. So nice places to learn, maybe pick up meat or.... We found a small farm near a park we went to. There was a sign turn left. It was great, I was able to explain the chicken tractors, sheep, etc, and they could see the green areas from weeks earlier. It was a decent sunny day, so nice. In the old days my mother would have talked with the owners about when to come back for..... like apples or fresh tomatoes.....

Be very careful about sending goats to other peoples property!!! There are many toxic plants to goats that are in the woods. I fear for their goats. An update on that would be great also. Thanks!
