In Northeast Indiana, a small family homestead has been asked with a ginormous task, to raise high quality, nutrient dense, pasture raised poultry for local food banks! The business has outgrown their own needs and now feeding their local community. Cody and his wife Stacy are tag teaming this difficulty task of raising all of this food! Cody takes us into their business and how they raise, grass-fed, finished beef, pasture raised chickens, and diving into the world of bee-keeping. I find myself watching every day, or listening while I’m working. A few key points. My main focus is zero till organic grain production at scale. I can achieve fertility with cattle and sheep. Cattle and sheep require a sanitation department, which is poultry and fowl. But it’s all but impossible to capture a market with such a limited scope of offerings for your customer. I have a really out of the box situation. It’s all about partnerships. I do not want to be the leader of an empire. Being the king or queen maker is much better.

They are safe from the elements and aren’t in a place that floods. The pasture grasses make a fine bed for them to be in so it’s a not a muddy mess.
