That penalty was stiff indeed, but it just goes to show how serious disobedience is, especially when you choose your vocation, to follow in Our Lord's footsteps! I felt bad for him though. He seems like a sweet and humble soul! It must have really taught him a lesson, because he is still speaking about it more than 40 yrs later! I really like him. God bless him!❤

What would be more important to say goodbye someone you were raised with or watch sports with your classmates it seems like the Bishop should have thought that over a bit more, this friend was like a brother. I do understand he was teaching giving up your will, but he. could have found a different time to teach the same lessen & given him permission.

​@@truthlifefishing1730 Yes, bishops do tend to wear a big crucifix to symbolize their authority. Deacons, presbyters and bishops all can and should "dress like a priest" with the shirt and collar, yes. We Catholics wear crucifixes because it's our symbol as Christians.
