Hey Sarah! I looove the Aveda dry shampoo. For one, it’s a powder! It’s way easier to apply in my opinion and it blends in a lot better than an aerosol. Plus, it smells amazing! 😍 it’s 99.8% naturally derived; it has 25 pure flower and plant essences including certified organic lavender, petitgrain and ylang ylang. I hope you try it and love it as much as I do!

Girl for real I use corn starch for dry shampoo. I apply it with an old makeup brush. It takes a little more work than the aerosol dry shampoos from the store but it does work. I get the best results when I load up my hair before bed and then brush it out in the morning because it can take some time to soak up the oil but I can use it in the morning too if I forgot.

20 year hair stylist here. I have natural platinum highlights now!!! Im 52. Let my Red hair grow out . I use 3 parts cornstarch to 1 part baking soda for my hair, Applied with my hands at the roots on day 2 after shampoo.and day 3. I brush through it with a natural boar bristle brush. VOLUME! Most of the sprays have some sort of powder😛😟 not all are cornstarch. I keep my powder in a salt shaker. Works well. You can add a few drops of essential oils to it also. Just sift it well well before you put in container.

I am allergic to permanent color, and am going gray, so I attempted to bleach my very dark (colored) hair, and it came out orange. I bought a color pigment mask in purple and blue to counter the orange, but ended up with bright, vibrant purple hair! I have never looked back. I have tried many of the semi permanent options from Sally's, and I currently have aquamarine going on. I get compliments all the time, and when the color fades, it basically is like getting a whole new color without doing any work. Purple is my favorite because it fades to a steely grayish lavender.

I use baby powder as dry shampoo, but the one without talc. I use the most natural one I can buy. It takes longer to get used to. I just powder a bit in my hair. Leave it for 5 min and massage the hair. You can also use arrowroot powder. I love using arrowroot powder as a face powder. Cheap and works well

For a diy dry shampoo, I fill a small mason jar (4 oz size) with corn starch then stir in a few droos of my favorite essential oils. I use an old foundation makeup brush to apply it to my roots then put a little in my plans, rub them together, then run my hands through the rest of my hair. It works pretty well :)

But I've been various shades of red for the past 8 years. I use cornflour as a dry shampoo, it works super well! You can add a bit of cocoa in it to make it less white on the roots. If I have really greasy hair, I put the cornflour just before going to bed and let it sit all night and the next morning I brush it out!

So I personally have my own DIY dry shampoo, that I learned to do from one of my favorite bloggers. It's basically corn starch and if you'd prefer a couple drops of lavender essential oil! I put mine in a small salt shaker so that way I can just tap it over my hair and personally it works great for me! It doesn't give a huge amount of volume but does help me out when my hair is getting greasy after 3-day hair lol. Also my natural hair color is a dark dark brown, I have done about 4 balayages to it, and I still have yet to reach the color blonde I want.. my goal now is to just dye it completely blonde, roots included!!

For dry shampoo, I started using corn starch. Believe me, it does a wonderful job. I've tried many dry shampoos before, most of them pretty expensive and toxic. So this method is all natural and it works as good as any dry shampoo on the market, if not better. You just sprinkle a little bit of the corn starch on your roots and just even it out whit your fingers or a combo, you can always put it in a salt shaker. Since I have my hair brown, I just mix 1 part of corn starch and 1 part of cacao powder and it works amazing. You can use airroot powder, too. I hope you give it a try, it does works really well.

Great results! And here is my tip: In my opinion the dry shampoo from Aveda "Shampure" is very good (aerosol free) It is just powder in a little push-container. Honestly it takes a little to practice the application of the powder but it is really effective to keep the roots "clean" and fluffy. Further the smell of it is very pleasant.

My hair is naturally a medium brown and I used to dye it all the time with crazy colors but I couldn’t justify bleaching my whole head and roots because my hair is so fine I feel like it would damage way too much, very quickly, so I would only do it to the under part of my hairs or streaks. Now I use all natural, cruelty free henna dye for my hair. I can’t get the crazy colors but I enjoy the more natural looks I can get with a variety of reds, blacks, browns, and even indigo (there are blonde henna dyes but I haven’t tried them on my hair). I typically go for a dark red, it looks so natural and I get so many comments on it. It’s much cheaper than bleaching and coloring as well, as it only cost me about $12 for the dye with shipping every 2 or so months and takes 3-4 hours to color. I would totally recommend it for anyone who bleaches their hair and wants to give it a break for a bit (you might find you enjoy it)

Dark brown with some redish brown and blonde highlights to cover gray. I don't think I could ever do blonde. But you look amazing. Your eyes really pop in this video. So pretty!

As a dry shampoo, I like to use a body powder like Summer's Eve, I buy it on Well.ca and it basically does the same thing as baby powder but without the talc, plus it smells great!

I love the lush no drought dry shampoo...but it’s too expensive, so I make my own with cornstarch/arrowroot powder and a few drops of grapefruit essential oil! It’s amazing and adds volume!

I have naturally dark brown hair. I used to dye it (and straighten it) when I was younger, but got tired of the maintenance. I'm currently embracing my natural color and wave.

Baby Powder has talc in it, which contains trace amounts of asbestos, and has been linked to ovarian cancer. Better to use corn starch.

Also my hair is completely virgin in my profile pic but I got a balayage a couple months ago and put magenta over it so it’s like a dark brown to magenta balayage and I love it!! Definitely the craziest thing I’ve done to my hair so far haha

My fav rn is the Kenra volume dry shampoo. I use it every day at the roots for volume/body.... Doesn't leave a white cast. Gives decent grip but not too gritty..

Natural hair is light brown but I actually colour it an intense copper shade.Since I have tan olive skin everyone used to tell me to avoid copper or red apart from very dark red shaded and boy were they wrong. This colour suit me,makes my complexion look more glowy and brings out my hazel eyes.

I have naturally red hair that has grown a lot darker and less red as I’ve gotten older, so every now and then I dye over it with henna to give it some more vibrancy :-) Love the look of your hair, wish I was brave enough to go that short sometime xx

I bleach the top hair and tone it to a silvery white. Underneath I dye it black, also a piece in the front to frame the face. I know the struggle of dying your own hair and getting rid of brassy or even greenish tones... Took me about 1,5 years to find my products. Next will be a more greyish, darker color on top. I've not worn my natural hair color for alsmost 20 years. Someday I might go back to it (with some remaining black parts). But I love that the bleaching leaves you with more voluminous hair! Also a fan of dry shampoo. I always get the one from Schauma (Germany. Not sure where else you can get it).
