Another bit of info that cheered me up. Here is me walking 20 km, hiking up mountains, dancing, declaring myself physically fit again, just to experience a flare-up that took me a week to recover from after playing squash... I was like WHAT???? So that IS part of the journey, Amen!

I typically really like these interviews but treating long covid and CFS is about ending the fear response loop that is driving the nervous system and going into a lot of monitoring symptoms and avoidance behaviors really keep the brain in hyper vigilance. Making some helpful lifestyle changes is great but identifying and working with the brain’s fear messaging is what turns that off. I wish this young woman so much success and am so glad for her that she is progressing but for those watching just realize that hyperfixating on what is causing your symptoms keeps the fear loop going.
@teddybearroosevelt1847
@teddybearroosevelt1847 Жыл бұрын
I agree to a certain extent. There are a lot of biological processes that can be fixed and focusing on symptoms can help you assess whether the pills and other interventions are helping. But I think immune dysfunction is a large part of what plagues many people with long covid and me/cfs and feelings and stress and fear indeed do play a role in the workings of the immune system. And then there’s the sympathetic vs the parasympathetic nervous system of course and you wanna allow your body enough time and energy to restore and repair, so you wanna keep it from being in fight or flight mode for that reason as well.

I've been watching so much information and really it seems ME/CFS are caused by mitochondrial dysfunction. My 11 yo has severe POTS and was bedbound by 6 yrs of age - was her brain already in some weird loop at a toddler because she was sick from the start....something physical is going on with these patients and this brain training stuff seems so odd to me. I am to the ponit where I think the healing from the brain programmes is conicidental and people are doing something else that is working at the same time.

I love my red light therapy and it helped me get out of the 1st round of Long Covid. Second time around it was toning (Singing) that did the trick. But its back again - with a greater sense of learned helplessness after getting out of the hole a couple of times already! This time I think its going to be changing my psychological patterns that make the difference. Many thanks for your awesome contribution Raelan, its very helpful.

maybe it works for some people this red light therapy, I have not found any improvement in my symptoms. So easy to 'jump to the next thing' when you are desperate. I spend a lot of money for the same reason on a dome providing red light therapy. We are all different and we all need to find our way to 'crack our code' to realign with ourselves and recover our health.

I had Identical symptoms, really feel for her! What a great interview to showcase how serious and crushing the symptoms can be. P.S. I have been looking into this type of pillow for my cervical, jaw and fibro related issues. Can it be used as a pillow at night? The pillow I have for neck issues doesn’t allow me to stay on my back and turn my head to the left or right at the slightest- if I do, I get a lot of pain. Thank you for this video ! I love seeing all these different paths toward recovery, giving me hope! I’ve been thinking about diets, and I wonder if part of any diet’s success is 1/ cutting out highly transformed foods 2/ taking back some control over something (without adding stress). I tried keto twice, it helped a lot the first time, I felt empowered and energized, second time I was in a very different mindset and saw only limitations and restrictions, and no impact on my energy levels. So maybe when and how one implements a diet is just as important as which diet one chooses ?

How many with ME/CFS have SIBO? My 11 yo has SIBO - she bloats up like crazy when she eats. We've tried treating it with antibiotics and we cut out sugar and only eating some white carbs (these move quickly through the system so don't have time to ferment), low FodMap etc etc and it is not working :( Dr. Myhill says do keto for the fermenting gut (which is SIBO) - for us I think SIBO is a huge issue as those bacteria are eating up her nutrients and so she is not getting them!

I have also used a whole body red light system to help heal from CFS and POTS. I have 2 panels from the platinum brand on a horizontal stand (also purchased from platinum). I place mine over a massage table but you could certainly move it to hover over a bed. I also own a portable unit from rejuvenator that was the precursor to my whole body system.
