I loved the articulation of the open relationship part. It's so enlightening. I always wondered something similar but didn't know how to word it and couldn't find any real life examples of it being done or where people didn't think I was crazy. I was always saying that if you really love someone you let them go. Not literally as in you don't put effort in a relationship, but where the energy is open, Jared once said to Shan that he never wanted their relationship to be anything more than it currently was, as in there are no expectations on this, it flows where it may. That means, when Shan had that person come up in her life and she wanted to explore it and asked Jared, he loved her enough to say I want the best for you, I am letting you go enough to explore, and he was saying I want you to choose the best person for you and I really hope that person is me, it makes it more significant if Shannon doesn't have a leash but she still chooses to be with Jared, in contrast to some people's definition of marriage where you never can stray ever. If people don't have the physical freedom, their minds wander and they get emotionally creative, and perhaps they have an emotional affair. The energy has to come out somehow, and Jared either gives her the space or doesn't and it blows her up inside. I think that's a level of maturity that many people can't even comprehend. Lots of commenters here I think don't understand but I do, I see it and I think it's fantastic. it's paradoxical that when you let go, the space opens for someone to come to you, versus if you keep them tight and chained down, it's safe but there's no space and no creativity and no flow.
