Danny interviews Vic Dark, a man who spent 19 years in prison for a series of crimes including armed robbery, stabbing and shooting. Once regarded as `the hardest man in Parkhurst', Dark exploited his reputation to work as a sidekick for some of London's most feared gangsters before deciding to live on the right side of the law as a novelist.

It's always impressive when someone changes their life around for the better. Anyone can change, they just need a chance and support to do it.

I’ve heard and read about vic dark and he’s very well respected both by gangsters and people. There’s a screw who mentions him and said he’s a great man he paid for a treatment he needed whilst working and vic said I don’t want you to do anything for me but get better!

Danny thinks pretending to be a tough guy on TV makes him "hard". It doesn't, Danny. 😀

Proud of this guy. He did his time yet he is still paying for it. Dude teach the kids the right way to live. He was the oldest brother. Being the oldest is way harder to be. The younger ones see the mistakes the older ones do and they don’t do it.

Vic is still being monitored by the police even though he's done his time. Seems they won't close the file on him.

I had the pleasure of meeting Vic when I was doing an 8 stretch in parkhurst, I did a little favour for him when I got a little home leave at the end of my bird, he was the real deal , never played on his rep, and as Charlie bronson said, Vic was the genuine article, a pleasure and honour to know him.

I cant see this man lasting long with todays feral child gangs, if they decided to "ave a go". Danny dyer, has actually admitted he is no tough guy. I remember his first tv performance in a drama. Not known for his intellige*** either 😂.

I can’t take Danny serious. He’s as hard as a wet blanket. The way he struts around and tries to act tough is comical. I can just imagine how he carries on around birds after a couple of pints haha

How societies are constructed affects how people behave. Life conditions have to change, human relationships, interaction have to change. Isolating those who find themselves in desperate condition is not the answer. Isolation is what lead these people to do the crime.

Life of parents lived by them whether they took loans begged somebody for support humiliations bad stories damaging acts fights battles etcetraw are burden legal of kids. I inherited it all whilst born on 19th April 1974 in my village. And I lovingly respectfully carry the burden even though I am solo with zero support

I recently found out that my mums and ours long time family friend , Chris , is Vics cousin!? 😳 He and his wife were/are teachers. Their daughters are all VERY successful in the film industry and lawyers that help a lot of people. I guess , there’s something in the genes? To be doing something full on regardless of the path 🫡 and being good at it 🤔🫡🫶
