Hi Karen! I'm so happy for your client! My nape is a bit short too and these tips will help me as well. I sleep on my back a lot too, and I need to try the rosemary and Jamaican black castor oil. And happy belated birthday! ♥️♥️♥️😊😊😊

One more thing Karen. I basically wash and condition my twa at home now and I'm getting a lot of confidence in caring for my new natural hair, thanks to reading your book and watching your videos. I always finger detangle, then use a wide toothed comb to avoid breakage. However, I go to the salon for special things, like getting my black rinse to cover the few gray hairs. But they always use a small toothed comb whenever they comb my hair as well as the other clients. Won't this cause a little breakage?

Thanks for your information. I've found that certain type of materials are breaking off the nape of the hair. i.e. acrylic, rayon or wool in turtlenecks, coats, scarves and sweaters. It would be great if someone invented something to cover the nape of the hair while wearing these clothing items.

Hi Karen, I wanted to ask how often should you oil your scalp with rosemary. I personally use the Mielle organics rosemary mint scalp & hair strengthening oil due to the crown section of my hair thinning. I use it once a week.
@KarenofCurlHouse3 ай бұрын
Hey Heidi! If the crown is thinning, I would encourage you to use it may 3x per week, if you are cleaning your hair about once a week (or every 10 days). I don't think once a week is frequent enough.

Hi Karen: Excellent information. I am 65 years young and about 20 years ago, I was diagnosed with Alopecia. I cannot remember the name of the version that I have. I do not have actual balding, I have thinning in my crown and in the front of my hair. I am in the process of ordering a silk pillowcase to sleep on. I notice that my satin bonnet moves around at night while I sleep and I don't want to experience further damage to the nape of my neck. I will be looking into purchasing your products. Can you suggest a brand of Rosemary Oil and Jamican Black Castor Oil that I can use for my scalp. Thank you for all that you do.

I wear a CPAP AT NIGHT, SO WHAT DO I SUPPOSE TO DO AT NIGHT
@KarenofCurlHouse Жыл бұрын
Hey Ernestine! Are the straps affecting your hair at all? Are the straps tight? You can put wear a satin bonnet (depending on your style) and that will help out a barrier between the straps and your hair … that will help minimize breakage but not wearing the CPAP is not an option … if you use growth oils on the scalp as well it will also help to keep the follicle strong even if you have to wear the CPAP to minimize breakage
