How can you be everything and nothing at the same time? Or between the two?
@pushparahi56812 жыл бұрын
@@brianlittrell797 i think everything is connected. The whole universe is a thing made up of many things which are interdependent and inter linked. For example, a human being in his mind consider himself as an individual who looks at the world through his eyes and says " oh where am i? What is this place, what is the meaning of this life" but you are just a part of this whole universe connected to the trees, the rivers, the land and life is really absurd, meaningless and your mind ( your thoughts and attention/observation) is that thing where all life exists cause we perceive this world only through our senses and then our mind. So according to me, it is so important to renew our mind, keep it empty, keep it vacant from thoughts in each moment, it seems like a mystery to me but isn't each moment instantly a new one ( like we live in the enternal... The present ). Our mind brings the concept of time through memory by imagining something from the past and one might get lost there forgetting the room or the place he is sitting in and gets disconnected from the ongoing buzz and their " lo and behold" moment in this world. Our mind is like an empty box. It really is empty when you are just looking at something, cause when you look or hear and pay attention to a sound, you would realise you are not thinking something at that moment , while you looked you were thoughtless, then only you could look properly. Thoughts can be noisy and distracting. Not if we just meditate and observe in the present what is around us. ( Work is exception , e.g you are doing something on laptop, but you still can be very careful of what is happening around) According to me, the secret of a blissful or peaceful or happy or enlightened or good or right way of life is we always live in the present moment. But it doesn't mean thinking is totally useless. Thinking is useful when it is used for important decision making and we should never be selfish and help others.
@pushparahi56812 жыл бұрын
@@brianlittrell797 don't get caught up in words. " Everything" and " nothing" can be explained each. But I feel words are limited, we can't really describe our lives or reality accurately through language. If you ask me, we are everything cause it is all in us, in our mind. The tree is there cause your mind perceives it, the same way all the things on this earth is in our mind, thats how everything is inside us. The earth doesn't exist if your mind doesn't exist. Think about it. In sleep you are " nothing" you don't even know you are asleep when you are asleep, only when you wake up or when you lie down or when you are lucid dreaming. When we are not thinking, when we are just awake, observing and there are no thoughts, you are nothing but just the tree you are looking at. We are just afraid of this emptiness inside of us. I haven't gone deeper than this. I think we are supposed to meditate and see, observe this emptiness.

@@pushparahi5681 Why is work an exception? Awareness turns everything into a meditation. If you do anything with awareness, awakeness, then you turn that activity into a meditation. The witnessing presence, the silent observer is watching you do that activity while you do that activity. Whether it be typing on a computer or doing some kind of work, you can still bring awareness to the activity. You can always bring the silent observer, the silent witness into every moment. That witness/observer/watcher is the pure awareness that you are and it is aware of the present moment now. This moment right and now as you are reading these words. It is watching you. It is you. Summarising all of rupert’s teachings: When you ask yourself the question “am i aware”...you refer to an objective-quality less experience of being aware and a thought rises “yes”. If you stay with that experience after the thought (being aware of being aware),awareness gradually ,in time ,loses its limitations and the true nature of awareness will shine as it is .This process is called self abidance.

The only thing that is appearing to stop you from enlightenment/self-realization/eternal life/knowing yourself to be unconditional love is identification with thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences instead of being aware of being aware and knowing yourself to be that unconditional love pure consciousness in which all thoughts, emotions, sensations, perceptions and experiences appear but are not inherently one with you; they are an expression of unconditional love; you are that infinite that is expressing itself as suffering/pleasure but inherently you are neither; you are that nothing/unconditional love/pure consciousness in which they are appear and by which they are perceived; Suffering/pleasure comes and goes; there is an awareness that is aware of them coming and going; that you are; remember and know what you are; never identify with anything that is appearing within you; since it appears within you; it can't be you; you are that in which it appears. When you abide as that in which it appears instead of identifying; nothing has a grip on you; if anything comes; it quickly goes; like clouds passing; only if you identify as a cloud then it will appear as if the cloud is here for longer than it is originally supposed to; if you simply rest as the awareness and do not identify; it will quickly dissolve; be unconditional love by being aware of being aware; this is the highest; this is what you are seeking in absolutely everything else; you are seeking yourself; you are seeking unconditional love; but you are looking outside of yourself; instead of being aware that you already are unconditional love. Your can't truly be everything if you aren't totally nothing. Even if there's a spec of solidity in the center of your field of experience it'll cling on to a ground externally, for 99 percent of the seekers this "something" is "Awareness" or "Godmind", which is just another golden chain, a new Ground the self projects onto. Any time there's a sense of "this" merging with "that" still presupposes a very subtle sense of duality. "Awareness" is just another fabrication, no different than any other sensations such as the body, emotions, the observer, etc. All are rolled into experience experiencing itself. When you truly disappear into the warm blanket of the Universe, there will be Awareness, but you're just not present.

This is 100% my problem; I reidentified with the thought 'there is no thinker' after having some minipeaks of effortlessness and impersonality. And in direct experience it's obvious there are sensations or areas of stuckness around which there is a sense of contraction and clinging/aversion. Like all of these blinking particle-feelings in the head area around which there is a lot of internal dialogue and identification.

The questions of the seeker are so real 🙏🏻. Like many, I may be situated exactly in the 'problematic approach of the middle'. It almost feels like being stuck in a tunnel, no movement forwards or back. Or is there one but one doesn't feel it? An Intellectual understanding of 'I am not this' is somewhat there but 'I am everything' nooo... not even in theory. A bit of relief for the disease has been diagnosed but how does one make progress from this middle stage? What does one do? Or not do? Is overthinking an issue? How to move from the mind to the heart? The jelly takes a long while to set it seems.
@JannikBoRasmussen3 жыл бұрын
Overthinking could be an issue. I sometimes find myself in the trap of trying to "solve it", "find IT" through thinking, without realizing that at that moment, I'm completely out for lunch.
@maya01823 жыл бұрын
It is the person, who is feeling stuck. But obviously there is someone watching the one "stuck in the tunnel". Who or what is this oberver? Do not think about it, try to stay in the experience. Thoughts can only reformulate what you have already learned, they can never reveal something new. Such knowledge or intuition comes from a deeper place. Feelings, like thoughts, belong to a person, therefore the experience of dullness in the beginning is not a bad sign. We are so used to being in the grip of our personal drama with feelings and emotions, that the lack of ist could be boring at first. There is nothing for the mind to do. So it will try to distract you again and again. Observe your thoughts to slow them down. They are arising on behalf of a person, not your true self. In the small gaps, when thinking ceases, our true nature shines through, maybe as boring, sterile or empty in the beginning, but is it not also peaceful? Don't let your mind tell you: "There's nothing there, so you better try some new practise, read some more, or give it up alltogether." It's the person trying to reinforce itself. What would indicate for you that you have reached the end of the tunnel? Consider the answer to this question carefully. Do you expect some special experience or wonderful feelings? Then you are back to the person. Your true nature is not a state you (as a person) can perceive. It is from there that all perception takes place. - If this is an issue, I would recommend Spira's KZbin-clip "Why am I not enlightened yet?"

When I go online to look at the wonderful pictures of space from The Hubble telescope there is often some commentary about the billions of stars and planets up there. The mind is of course drawn to these wonderful objects - but nobody ever talks about the INFINITE SPACE in which they are situated! Yet it’s in his infinite dark space that I see the REAL wonder of it all! Over 95% of the universe is SPACE - yet it is totally ignored! We are told that all is ONE without a second. But if everything is ONE then we can’t ignore what makes up 95% of that ONE! - SPACE! Because if it’s infinite then space doesn’t stop where you start. If it did it wouldn’t be infinite! The same thing applies to the planets and stars - space doesn’t stop where they start either! Which means that everything is space appearing as an object, but never being anything other than space. The amazing thing is that the space right now between me and my computer screen is the same space that’s a billion light years away in another galaxy! IT’S THE SAME SPACE! There is no place where one space joins another space - IT’S ALL ONE. EVERYTHING IS ALL ONE! But of course, we miss it all the time. When our mother sat us down, pointed at things and gave them a name she never once pointed at space. I notice that mind cannot think about space for any length of time because it’s not an object. But awareness can stay aware of it. In doing so the un-caused joy or bliss is experienced - pretty much immediately. Also, when I am aware of space and am looking at it I see its incredible beauty and the no-thingness of it all. Being aware of space - even the space surrounding my body seems to break the idea that I am the body and bring my home to being the infinite no-thing/intelligence energy of all that is.
