Having suffered childhood sexual abuse at the hands of a family member, 13-year-old Vesper Stamper was hungry for a sense of control. An answer was seemingly found in wicca, transcendental meditation, and other occult practices; but after her first experience of astral projection, Vesper became plagued by a dark spiritual oppression that only conversion and exorcism could lift. Decades later, the celebrated author and illustrator reflects upon the suffering that led to her experimentation, as well as the pain that has persisted years into her Christian walk. For the very first time, Vesper publicly discusses her recent health diagnosis, the despair she’s battled in the wake of the October 7th attacks, and the surprising companion she’s found in Christ.

Thank you for this insightful conversation and testimony. Pray for both of you and your strength in your work. My faith journey has been to leave Christian orthodoxy and move to church of England because I felt that in the former one Inwas not participating enough. Now I see both sides and get exactly what Vesper is talking about. God bless both of you.

Your encounter with Yeshua is not unlike my own. I have been through a LOT of trauma and rejection, but after 30 + years in the Arms of our beautiful Creator, I am still so frightened that He'll reject me. I've had Fybromyalgia for over half my life and I ask why? Because it SOOO limits what I can do just in basic life. I haven't found joy, just pain and depression

Belief in a god, an invisible, magic person who lives in the sky, requires faith. But faith cannot correct a false belief and so faith makes for a terrible guide to truth. I'll pass on faith based beliefs and look to facts, demonstrable truths about reality. So says this agnostic-atheist.

When you finally realize that there is nothing to be found in the world, the Truth will be there in the Orthodox Church, waiting for you to come home as He has for all of us who have found our way out of materialist atheist.

@@Nicholas_Powell I'll 'finally' realize the truth of a talking snake and invisible, magic people who live in the sky when the facts that point to that truth, first and foremost, are presented to me in a verifiable way. Until then, get comfortable while you wait. Eternity is a really long time. Especially towards the end.

@@Nicholas_Powell I found my car keys. They were under my recliner... and in the world. So I got that going for me. There's at least one thing to be found in the world. My car keys. Now if I could only find my marbles. 😋

Your statement, whether it is true or false is indifferent to my reply , and the fact that you feel entitled to diminish and criticise another human being's world view shows a level of utter arrogance and hubris that quite frankly stuns me to my core. The element of judgement in your comment is derogatory in content. Shame on you, not for the certainty of your belief, but for the utter lack of moral intergrity demonstrated in using it as self justification for the right to wield it with ethicical brutality. Scoundrels and cruelty hide behind the anonymity of the keyboard. In this case I admit guilty too, but it seems deserved. The distinction being I call out your behaviour and not what has deep value to you. That distinction matters.
