Today we’re joined by tattoo artist and entrepreneur Kat Von D to discuss her incredible testimony of coming to faith in Christ and her ongoing faith journey. Kat explains her upbringing and how she initially rebelled against going to church because it was only something she was told to do. We take a look at her rise to fame through the shows "Miami Ink" and "LA Ink" and her interest in spiritual practices that were just methods of putting Band-Aids on a sinking ship. She recalls her journey to sobriety and how her husband helped her readjust her thinking on not just her faith but also some political topics. We discuss her viral baptism video, some of the backlash she’s gotten from both non-Christians and Christians, and how she can actually use certain aspects of her life and style to reach those who may feel ostracized by Christianity or “Christian culture.” Then, what would Kat tell those who have questions about Christianity as she did?

I used to be a witch/new ager, addict, sex worker and I had a radical encounter with God when I was suicidal and sitting in my car. I heard his voice say “I have work for you to do.” I never felt as loved or as seen as I did in that moment. Jesus is so incredible EDIT: there’s a few short videos on my page touching on pieces of my testimony if you’re interested. I’d love to hear your testimony too! 💙💙💙

The problem I imagine you have too is that you can never be too sure if you've reinforced up all of the spiritual attack vectors witchcraft well and truly opened up in you. This is especially true when the joy in Heaven over a converting witch is matched by the rage in Hell over the loss of one, and that Satan and the Dark Angels will fight tooth and nail to return such a convert to the road to Gehenna. The sad thing is that most people don't realise that the reason why the Bible warns against witchcraft is precisely because it opens up direct pathways to spiritual attack in the practitioner. I don't know how much my doing this will have any authority, being the flawed sinner that I am, and I hope that someone else likes it so that the "2 or more gathered in my name" rule applies, but I would ask Abba Father, that if any demons, dark angels or even Satan himself attempt to harm you or Kat Von D, through any remaining spritual vulnerabilities caused by past practicing of Witchcraft, that they backfire on those dark entities a million times over and that the backfire drive those entities so far from you from the recoil of that backfire, that it forms an impassable gulf between your and/or Kat Von D, which those dark entities can never cross. I ask this in the name of Our Eternal Brother, Lord and Saviour, Yeshua the Christ.

I found Allie's interview to be grace-filled. I remember what it felt like as a new (adult) believer to be judged by those born in the church. I really appreciated Allie saying we forget that sanctification is a process. Kat clearly said there are things she did before that sicken her now. God is merciful to deal with things in us not all at once. She also said when she goes to church, "I want the Bible, not feel good stories." Our sister is on her way. She needs our prayers for protection over her and her family.

The Lord woke a LOT of us up in 2020. We switched churches. I felt compelled to read the Bible cover to cover for myself for the first time at the age of 50. I used to watch you on Miami Ink with my husband and I remember being so surprised at the light I felt coming from you. I had no idea you were struggling with addiction at the time. I saw the daughter of God in you. I said to my then boyfriend, now husband, “I’ll watch this with you only because for some reason I like this Kat Von D lady.” Congrats on your baptism 🥰. So true. Questions are good because then we can dig deeper into the word and be strengthened in our faith. I don't understand this thing about discouraging questions. The apostle Paul says we should always be ready to give a reason for our faith. So naturally, we should know and be confident in what we believe.

Yes! Apologetics are what brought me back to Jesus and strengthened my faith so much! My mom said she regrets not bringing that into our childhood. She said when she grew up she just accepted and believed so she didn’t really understand how or why I had the questions I did. Now she reads a lot of apologetics stuff and can effectively answer questions others have.

I taught my two kids apologetics. They took apologetic courses during their home schooling years and at church. My daughter participated in speech and debate competitions with apologetics as the topic. Once they reached about 25 years old - they walked away from their once professed faith. One is an agnostic and one is an atheist. Why do I say this? Because parents can do all the right things and the kid still turn away from the Lord. 😢

As a teenager when I would just wear black jeans and tshirt my dad would already be upset and kind of imply that it's dark and evil or something to wear lots of Black. And I'm not even talking about revealing things or anything, just literally the colour Black. I'm interested in Christianity rn. I'm not Christian yet, but I just ordered a bible so lets see how that goes. I have a lot of prejudice towards Christianity that I'm working through rn, cause I made bad experiences with people who used god or the bible as an excuse to just be really judgemental, mysogynist and hateful unfortunately. I can understand not agreeing with things that's are against your believes, but their are better ways to express that, than what I experienced from some people. Thank you very much for the delighful messages, in my country Bolivia (Southamerica), there´s actually a goth christian church, and has expanding consistantly to other Latinamerican countries. All the members are goth or similar subcultures and we all family in Christ. Perhaps we get a lot of critics (to say the least), but we do not focus on that, we try to walk on the understanding of the grace of the Lord, without messing with other peoples life. We were royalty in the world and now we´re outcasts in the faith community, it´s a price we are willing to pay, that´s not important. For us, the only real tragedy, is to be forced to live in this cruel and horrible world without the sweet love of Christ.

I was born in '66. Really kinda too early for the Goth thing. Plus I had to be the good kid because my parents went through hell with my older brother. I do love the punk sensibility and I identify with that. My quiet way to be my own person was to dress in black. My inspiration for that though was Johnny Cash, a rebel but also a Christian. I'm sure if I had been born 10 years later and had a more saner childhood, I probably would have been a Goth. I'm a night person and my wife jokes and calls me a vampire. I just like the quiet of the night because being a daytimer is not fun. putting up with all the chaos and stress. So yeah, I guess I identify with the Goth culture.

My heart broke when Kat spoke about the negative comments about her baptism which is something so precious to a believer. I hope Kat will somehow see this message because I want to remind her of what Jesus himself would have to say to her about it. “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account. Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven.”

As a person 5 seconds into Christianity, who has so much baggage, new age, occult, spiritualism, etc., I feel like I've missed the boat, that I will never have a good life, a good Christian life, this gives me so much hope for the future. Want to let Sister Kat Von D know that I will be praying for her and her husband. I was a tattoo artist for about 30 years and a drug and a porn addict, the Lord delivered me from all that, I am now a Deacon in my church and even get to preach occasionally. I'm proud of you Kat! I used to idolize you because you are an amazing artist! but I'm so happy to be your brother in Christ Jesus, will be wonderful to see you in paradise one day! God bless you and your husband dear Sister!! one of my gifts from the Lord is intercessory prayer. In her defense when I first started my walk with the Lord, I was still tattooing, listening to slayer, and sleeping with women, but sanctification is God's work in all of us. it's ongoing. The Bible says God winks at our ignorance, boy was I ignorant! I used to brag about being the worst Christian walking! fast forward to nowadays, I learned to submit Everything to Him, I mean everything! Now I don't watch any secular movies, nor listen to secular music. the music I thought was "boring" hymns and praise music, I now enjoy. I'm saying all this to show that God is working on all of us as long as we want Him too! So we all should keep praying for Kat and her husband. I'm excited to see the hand of the Lord working on folks. and His timing is Always perfect, so we need to trust the work He's doing in her and her husband's life. PNP. love all y'all!

He continued to be as sinful and wicked as before, fornicating, cursing, singing his old demonic songs and just living his lavish lifestyle as before. So, no. I had the privilege of meeting Kat Von D, several years ago when I was working for a frame shop out of Fresno CA. I had the opportunity to travel with my friend to measure a potential painting we were going to frame for her. It was a very surreal experience, she was really down to earth, and gregarious. She allowed me to play an acoustic flying v, and we were just sitting there chilling, and while she was talking to some other people, I began to fumble around with the notes to fur Elise by Beethoven. She stopped everything looked at me with this gleam in her eye, and acknowledged what I was playing, because she said she was a huge beethoven fan. I know its crazy, considering how brief of an encounter it was, but when I see her doing big things with her life, I feel like I'm watching a long lost friend, and it fills me with joy to see her happy healthy, and trying to support others.

Hearing Kat's testimony really helped me understand that a person like me can be truly saved. God is so good. 🙏

Hi Samantha not only are you saved but you are a daughter of the most high God! You are a co heir with Jesus Christ. This means you’ve been given all spiritual authority and power to walk in victory. Also remember that as new creation there is no condemnation for those in Christ. Walk with your head up high and if you stumble repent and move on. He loves you. 😁 Our walk with Him is a journey not a destination. Much love to you sister! ❤

There are Christians and then there are Christians in name only. A true Christian is one who is truly Born again. Jesus said, you will know them by their fruit. Yeah, that's something I've learned in my Christian walk. These days I remind myself daily to love one another and be a light. I love to see people grow closer in their relationship with Christ. 1 Corinthians 13:1-7 Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I have become sounding brass or a clanging cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, but have not love, it profits me nothing. Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

I'd never heard of Kat Von D until I saw a post on one of my friend's pages, and I decided to look her up. I found a beautiful short clip of her baptism, a few other video's, and this one. I'm so glad I watched this! What an amazing conversion story! She is in a position to be able to share her faith with individuals that many of us would never be able to reach because we can't understand or have empathy for what they are going through. She has been there, and she knows how to reach them and encourage them. Praise God! Thank you for having her on your show because she's an inspiration. I needed the reminder that I should never judge someone by their outward appearance because it's their inner journey that's important and we all need love and encouragement. I'm so glad she has found such a wonderful church family that is so loving and accepting of her, her family, and her friends. This was so beautiful. ❤

Idk if she’ll read these comments but Kat mentioned that she sees herself as a “quiet witness” but I hope that she knows, her declaration of her faith, the video of her baptism itself and this interview are the greatest testament and form of witnessing for God/Jesus she could ever possibly display. For her to have such a platform/following and to make her faith public, she has shared her light with the world in a way that is going to impact SO many people that thought they just had no chance of taking this route because of things like their physical appearance or their past. So even if she never talks about her faith again publicly after this, she has made a major impact on an entire demographic of people that may not have been reached otherwise. I feel like God is smiling on her for her bravery in doing that.

@@appointedaday-ur6st You can have discernment but still not have been purged from your old sins. You can have discernment and still lack boundaries or even obedience. Pray for her to grow in grace. Pray that the seed that has been sown produces fruits of righteousness and all of the regenerative effects of a new creation in Jesus Christ. When we’re carnal and coming away from the world we still have our beloved sins and we will have to be sanctified and she’s not even ready to separate from old friends. I think it’d be difficult to cut off all those people. Same with addicts and an alcoholic mentality. Birds of a feather flock together. Just keep an understanding and compassionate heart for celebrities that make a public statement of faith. They need lots of prayer and they can use their platform to be influential. She has a heart to see her husband saved and raise her children up right. That’s conviction. It takes conviction and courage to withstand all the backlash from fault finders, doubters, and the Accuser (the spirit that wants to throw your past in your face). She shouldn’t be in a fish bowl but as a public figure it comes with the territory.

Hi Kat, I welcome you as a sister in Christ. As to the listening to music issue, I can relate. Since I was a child I listened to popsongs and sang along with them. That's how I started learning English! I even was a singer in a few bands. After I gave my life to Christ, I too still enjoyed listening to the secular music I was accustomed to, and I too didn't really like a lot of the christian hymns at first. However, slowly I got to know christian songs that I did like, or that I already knew, and I started to listen less often to secular music. It also helped to know that a lot of popsongs are written in trance, and they contain spells. Many famous people admit how they made a deal with the devil, and many have Aleister Crowley as one of their idols. If musicians write in a trance, they wake up after 15 minutes and suddenly see a song written in front of them, without remembering they wrote it. Sometimes, if we don't quite understand what the lyrics are all about, there's a good chance they contain a spell. Satan (meaning: adversary) was the leader of music in heaven, where he was called Lucifer (meanng: lightbearer), before he turned against God and was thrown out, so music is his specialty. He knows exactly how to lure people into his trap. We all know how mesmerizing music can be, many people are addicted to it. Over the years I started to listen less often to secular music, but still I sometimes find myself singing along with a song that I used to like, even one that is satanic in my opinion, and then I ask God to help me overcome it, and to make that kind of music less attractive to me. It happens sometimes without realizing it, Hotel California is a good example. Slowly my taste for music changed, and lately I can't stand to listen to most of the rock music anymore. The screaming and the guitars just hurt my ears. When I was a singer, I endured listening to loud music, but now, when I'm alone at home, I hardly ever turn on the radio anymore, while before I sang popsongs for 2 or 3 hours a day, and the rest of the day I had the radio on or the tv playing in the background. Way before I became a committed christian, I had already thrown out the tv, that is showing more and more garbage, when I started noticing so many things being off in the world. Now I enjoy the silence. I even moved from the city to a small village, to get away from the noise. They say that you become what you see, and that you become what you eat, and you also become what you listen to. Don't worry, as you will grow as a christian, your appetite for earthly things will diminish, your perception of things will change overtime. However, be warned, many 'friends' will not like what you have become. Please, don't let it put you off. Most people always talk about their feelings, and how you should listen to your heart, but, as Jeremiah 17:9 states, 'The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?' Proverbs 4:23: 'Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.' The more you read the bible and ask the holy spirit for guidance, and the more you pray and talk about God with fellow christians, the more the holy spirit will help you grow as a christian. You will find that, as time will pass, your preferences will change, it's a process, because people are stuck in their ways, it's only logical. And it's important to keep your body and mind healthy, so you can discern things. Mark 12:30: 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your MIND and with all your strength.’ He should be the center of your life, but I'll be honest, I too am still working on that. We are living in endtimes. We can see the world changing: people being lovers of themselves, occultism becoming more normal and being propagated, occultists becoming more open about whom they worship, Gods creation being meddled with (DNA changed), christians being more ridiculed and even hated, more wars and diseases, and more and more natural disasters happening (not all are natural, the governments are manipulating the weather, it's called geoengineering, or solar radiation modification. To prevent global warming, against climate change, so they say). These are the signs, that the end is near. Revelation 9:20-21: 'The rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues still did not repent of the work of their hands; they did not stop worshiping demons, and idols of gold, silver, bronze, stone and wood-idols that cannot see or hear or walk. Nor did they repent of their murders, their magic arts, their sexual immorality or their thefts.' Luke 21:9-11: 'But when you hear of wars and commotions, do not be terrified; for these things must come to pass first, but the end will not come immediately. Then he said to them: Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven.' Luke 21-31: 'Even so, when you see these things happening, you know that the kingdom of God is near.' 'Ephesans 6:12: 'For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places.' 2 Corinthians 4:4: '...the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelievers, to keep them from seeing the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.' 1 Peter 5:8: 'Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.' Luke 21:34-36: 'But take heed to yourselves, lest your hearts be weighed down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that Day (when Christ returns) come on you unexpectedly. For it will come as a snare on all those who dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.' Matthew 24:4-5: And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many." Matthew 24:23-27: 'Then if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There!’ do not believe it. For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. See, I have told you beforehand. Therefore if they say to you, ‘Look, He is in the desert!’ do not go out; or ‘Look, He is in the inner rooms!’ do not believe it. For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.' God will change your heart, if you let Him. 1 John 5:19: 'We know that we are from God, and the whole world lies in the power of the evil one.' James 4:7: 'Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.' Romans 16:20: 'The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.' I hope we shall see eachother in the new Jerusalem, after all earthly things have passed. Revelaton 21:5: 'And He who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.”

When she said “…short lived bandaids on a sinking ship” when she was trying new age practices was so profound. Bless her God. I cannot wait to see how God uses her. 🙏🏼✨

As a young teen I always thought Kat was so beautiful. I used to pray for her all the time because I never knew where her faith stood. Seeing this has brought such great joy to my heart

This is so awesome- I’m getting baptized Sunday and I can’t wait. After 30 years of being a Manhattan liberal I can relate to so much of this

As a pastors kid here with a strict upbringing, Kats story is almost my EXACT testimony. I feel like a lot of church kids go through this. So happy to see her proclaim her faith like this. ❤❤

But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is that darkness!
