I’m 50 years old, and I can feel your thoughts. I hope your trip to Taiwan will be a wonderful experience. If you encounter any problems or need assistance, I believe the people of Taiwan will be very happy to help, and I would be happy to assist as well. Wishing you a pleasant journey.

Thanks. I feel safe and confident that if I ever need anything I will be able to get good help in Taiwan

Simple is great. 很喜歡這樣子的‘’無目的性‘’的隨興生活,這是‘’退休‘’所給予人最棒的心境之一。總有源源不斷的小小智慧之語從您口中流淌出來,很是享受啊!

There’s no need to have a purpose in everything you do. As long as you don't hurt others, even if you do nothing to make yourself happy, it is always the best and wonderful thing in life. Superb and well done Bob 👏

Agreed. Making ourselves happy without hurting others is one of the best things we can do for this world.

KZbin took me here. Yes Everybody is now an expert on everything these days. Old people kill their time typing comments and afterwards argue among themselves. I feel what you feel as I found out I am doing just the same. Productive vs active. How true! We can’t be productive any more but certainly we can be active.

Thank you for the tour Bob, it’s so easy to forget even amongst all the chaos of city living in Kaohsiung, we’re living in sheltered peace.
Will be 61 next month, time to learn how to live a better life after retirement. Thanks for the tips to a peaceful life.

Hello Bob, welcome back to Taiwan. I went to Canada for a trip last month. I was shocked by the cost of living in Canada. so now I can realise that u say Taiwan is a paradise.
@BobsUtopiaКүн бұрын
Yeah, it's not just the cost of living that I like about living in Taiwan. It's most everything.
that is what I love about Taiwan.. the late night options and chatting with the Lao Ban ... the noodles looks so good

Me too. I try my best to avoid franchises, which is pretty easy to do in Taiwan.

Bob, this is one of the most valuable parts of being human; in a world where almost all animals have to survive, humans are one of the few that can live without this constraint; to be able to “choose” a preference and like it is a dream in itself. Please have fun, thanks for your hard work! (Translated by DeepL) Bob

Like your life & personality! Welcome to Taichung, Dakeng. There are lots of hiking trails around my home. Swimming +Spa is good for you and stay away pain.
I love the way you talk about Taiwan. I think there isn't a perfect place to settle down. Every place has its pros and cons.

I agree that there is no perfect place, But winter in Taiwan and summer in Canada is pretty sweet

It's funny. There's two types of foreigners in Taiwan. Those that seek out other foreigners and those that avoid them. :) My husband and I generally also avoid other foreigners too but here and there, you can find the foreigners that avoid foreigners and for some reason, those we usually like. :)

As a young'un (Female in early 40s) I would love to hear about how you retired financially. Any advice for us in our early 40s? I was one of your first subscribers by the way. Not all of us are older men. :) My hubs and I lived in Taiwan for a few years and are back in the US. Our goal is to make our way back to Taiwan. We would love to buy a property in Taipei but it doesn't seem feasible since real estate there is so expensive. We like Kaohsiung a lot too but were a bit concerned about the air quality.

I like it when I meet other foreigners when mountain climbing or in other non-tourist spots, like the 自由黃昏市場...

My wife and I are frugal, not because we like to save money, just because we like simple lives. We only have one car. In Canada, we rarely go out to restaurants, do not subscribe to Netflix....My favourite spot is the library. We saved enough for retirement just by living well within our means.
@jazzenthuiagirl4 күн бұрын
@@BobsUtopia Sounds like my husband and I as well. Our car is 20 years old, our Netflix is free through our phone plan and I like the library as well. I was thinking of your videos when we were climbing Monkey Mountain back in December of last year. :)

I was climbing Monkey Mountain back in December of last year too! We might have been there on the same day. I try to climb three times a week

Why do I think I'm one of the guys you are talking about wanting to move to Taiwan? I need a Taiwan Sugar Momma to fly me out there (just don't tell my wife).
@BobsUtopia5 күн бұрын
I was talking about you. You have so much money! You don't need a sugar momma. If I had your money, I'd burn my money.
@allenreid625 күн бұрын
@@BobsUtopia Trust me, if I had the extra money I'd be there. You need to move there full time so I can come out there in the hot, humid summer when it's cheap.
