I’m 50 years old, and I can feel your thoughts. I hope your trip to Taiwan will be a wonderful experience. If you encounter any problems or need assistance, I believe the people of Taiwan will be very happy to help, and I would be happy to assist as well. Wishing you a pleasant journey.

Simple is great.

There’s no need to have a purpose in everything you do. As long as you don't hurt others, even if you do nothing to make yourself happy, it is always the best and wonderful thing in life. Superb and well done Bob 👏

KZbin took me here. Yes Everybody is now an expert on everything these days. Old people kill their time typing comments and afterwards argue among themselves. I feel what you feel as I found out I am doing just the same. Productive vs active. How true! We can’t be productive any more but certainly we can be active.

Bob, this is one of the most valuable parts of being human; in a world where almost all animals have to survive, humans are one of the few that can live without this constraint; to be able to “choose” a preference and like it is a dream in itself. Please have fun, thanks for your hard work! (Translated by DeepL) Bob

It's funny. There's two types of foreigners in Taiwan. Those that seek out other foreigners and those that avoid them. :) My husband and I generally also avoid other foreigners too but here and there, you can find the foreigners that avoid foreigners and for some reason, those we usually like. :)

As a young'un (Female in early 40s) I would love to hear about how you retired financially. Any advice for us in our early 40s? I was one of your first subscribers by the way. Not all of us are older men. :) My hubs and I lived in Taiwan for a few years and are back in the US. Our goal is to make our way back to Taiwan. We would love to buy a property in Taipei but it doesn't seem feasible since real estate there is so expensive. We like Kaohsiung a lot too but were a bit concerned about the air quality.

My wife and I are frugal, not because we like to save money, just because we like simple lives. We only have one car. In Canada, we rarely go out to restaurants, do not subscribe to Netflix....My favourite spot is the library. We saved enough for retirement just by living well within our means.

11:10. 唉, in the U.S. it’s not uncommon to spend $20 on junk food per meal from a fast food restaurant nowadays.

@nisstw
@nisstw 4 күн бұрын
