Hi Alone, nice video. That pack you use for tinder, is called, an Adirondack pack for your viewers who don't know. They were made and used as back packs in the early Adirondack days. I can understand your desire to keep your lifestyle minimal, I've lived that way for many years and wish to go back to that way at times. You look cute in that black outfit. Glad your foot is healing. My mom wore skirts all the time. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing your trip to Homer. It brought back great memories of my husband. When we met, he had been living in Alaska and was working on the pipeline. Crazy story, but he came back East because his son was in the hospital (his ex had moved back East). My son was in the hospital also, both for scheduled surgeries. Our sons shared a hospital room. Anyway we fell in love and he invited me to visit him in Alaska. One of the places he took me to was Homer. I was trying to remember one of the places he took me to, and as soon as I saw the Salty Dawg, I knew that was the place. Somewhere near the Salty Dawg are our initials etched into a wooden post. There may even be a dollar bill still hanging there from us. ❤

Glad the foot is doing better! Getting used to doing things on your own is pretty satisfying in my mind. Being around other people and accepting help from them is good, but we can't always rely on others to help because they do indeed have their own lives to attend to. The fruit crisp in your video looked AMAZING!! Woof!

Hello from the UK ☺. I so needed to watch this vlog today, thank you (only recently discovered your channel). Back on the 4th of December my husband Terry died after a short illness. We had been together for 50 years plus (yes, we were babies when we wed). He was my love, my life and my soul mate and my heart is broken 💔. I also had a bad fall in the garden and broke my shoulder! I have recently come out of the sling, so know how you feel re the foot boot, they are so limiting! We were very independent and also dependent on each other, we helped otgers but didnt usually ask for help. Hhe was the most kind and patient man. I watched you today and you have me so much inspiration to carry on. I have two fur babies (my cats🐾🐾) that need me to get up in the morning and care for them. You are a brave, independent, kind human being and I wish you bright blessings, love and light. Thank you for listening as PS I don't know your name. Annie? Amanda? Alone? ☺

Really nice to see that your foot is doing good. It is comforting to know that you have people that you can depend upon if or when you might need help. Glad that you got to go to Homer for a visit, a few years Ago I had the good fortune to get to Homer, went Halibut fishing, camped out there and tried to fish for salmon from shore but the fishing pole I bought in Anchorage broke on the first cast. Wishing you and Kenai a Happy New Year and may all your dreams come true.

Sorry I have not been in to watching much videos of late. So hearers reading of your foot injuries really got me...have had stitches in my foot after a summer camp injury they can lay you up that's for sure. Take it easy though. We have not had but one light dusting down here in Shelton Washington so far but waiting for a big dump for sure. It sure is cold though but cold enough to freeze the water like was doing late fall early winter. In my youth we had a pot belly as oil was to expensive for my parents to keep filling the oil tank. Our house was a small two bed moon cinder block home concrete floor etc.kept the winds out but still cold. We would haul in wood daily and the cinder was what we chipped off the logs with a small axekept right by the stove. In an extreme need to get the fire going it was very useful. Seen some stuff in your burn pile that would surely of been any cinder pile or creative box..paper wrapping. Love the way you been living would of done it my self had I of had the way to gain a cabin like you have...its all coming together though. Stay safe and I promise I'll watch all the videos and get caught up on the recents.. Been very busy with the grand babies and still in process of clearing up some things in my old leaking rv to get it gone. Time is short when the day has me running kitchen laundry two small wee ones a 6 ms one 3 yrs and then two more 6 and 7 years.and one think he is better than thou 11 yr oldstep grandchild..hoping it goes well here for now. Best regards...lift that leg much butdo not let it bring you down to much.. Missy

Ever since I watched one of your videos which popped up I my recommended list, I’ve binge watched your content. Not only are your videos entertaining and occasionally funny, but they’re also extremely educational. You’re a very talented, capable and independent woman. There are very few Westerners who could live in the environment you choose to call home. However, you’re not just surviving, you’re thriving. Like most people watching your videos, I’m sat here in relative comfort, with central heating providing me with a warm home, hot running water, electricity in abundance to power all of my electronic devices, lighting and domestic appliances, numerous shops within walking distance or a short drive and amenities readily available. Most people dream about owning a log cabin to escape the daily grind of Western life, but as with the majority of the population, I would soon find it difficult to overcome the daily challenges just acquiring the essential resources to live. You have stated that you also had those comforts in Colorado, however you followed your dream to live in isolation in one of the most beautiful, but demanding places on earth. I admire your ability and ingenuity to overcome the adverse conditions you encounter on a daily basis. You’re a rare breed. Most of us rely on the system our communities provide for our essentials. Please stay safe and continue producing your excellent content.

Hi, I noticed the firewood stacked beside the door where you're seated. That's a nice stack of fire starter but where is the logs. Pieces up to a foot across that burn for hours. When I burn wood, I keep a few large pieces sitting on top of the stove. This helps get the large sizes going. I don't watch this channel all the time, maybe I missed the other stacks

Alone, i so admire you for your fierce independent spirit. It really takes a mental fortitude to do life as you’ve chosen for yourself. Even though you are Alone, I feel like you’re not at all lonely but content. I’m sure you have your moments, as, we all do from time to time and most of us are in the midst of our families and communities. Mentally and emotionally I could so do what you’re doing but I don’t have the physical strength and stamina, so here I am! Enjoying your videos! Thank you for sharing yourself and your life with us! It’s been a journey watching you learn and grow in your independence. But thank God for good neighbors! No one is truly an island. But I get your point of not being overly dependent on others. But maybe sometime you’ll be able to help someone down the road and I know you’d be happy to do it. God bless you sister!
