Sometimes little changes go a long way to make life easier. Why not have a bit of fun along the way.
I am not sponsored on these items:
36 Quart Deep Fryer:
www.cabelas.com/shop/en/bass-...
James Marchini's Book:
www.amazon.com/Dont-Crazy-Ala...
The recipes for these two dishes were published in a Better Homes and Garden magazine many decades ago. I no longer possess the original copies, however, have made them so many times over the years that I basically have them committed to memory.
PECAN CHICKEN
4 chicken thighs with Skin on (rinse and pat dry)
1 Cup of Crushed Corn Flakes
1/4 Cup crushed pecans
1/4 Cup of honey
1 TBS Yellow Mustard
1 TBS of Spicy Whole Grain Mustard
1TBS of Paprika
Cooking spray or olive oil
Mix the honey, mustards and paprika together. Dredge the chicken thighs in the mixture than coat in corn flakes. Repeat this process coating the chicken twice. Place on slightly greased baking dish/ sheet. Lightly coat with olive oil or cooking spray of choice. Bake at 350 until juice run clear. If topping begins to burn, tent with tinfoil until chicken is cooked through and reaches 165 degrees on a thermometer.
SPICED CHEESY POTATOES
For every 1 potato (sliced thinly) you will need 1/2 tsp of the following spices + 1 Tsp Olive oil:
chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin, & thyme
Salt and pepper to taste, a dash of cayenne (optional).
1/4 Cup of shredded cheddar cheese, 1/2 Tsp diced green onions.
Slice potatoes thinly and coat in olive oil. Then rub on spices coating all sides. Place in slightly greased baking dish or foil pack. Cover with foil and bake @350 degrees for approximately 45 minutes or until potatoes are tender. Remove foil, cover with shredded cheese and green onions. Continue to cook until cheese is melted.

Hi there ALONE ❤ I made it back for a video at last 😂👋👋👋🇦🇺🤗 still not out of the woods as I'm in the middle of packing up house as I have to move. Sheesh. I'll send an email explaining abd catching up in the next 2-3 weeks when i find time. This was a delightful way to start my day 8.30am Sat 23 Mar '24❤ Thankyou for your resilience and good natured humour that sustains you in living your best life in your beautiful Alaska. I remember living like you are doing back in 1955 as that was LIFE for most farmers back then in the Sth Island of NZ😅. There were 9 of us , 7 kids. Dad made a clothes drying rack likr yours that was on a pulley in the kitchen wgere the coal/wood range was. The kitchen was tiny with table for eating at andxas there ws no bench space i assume mother used the table for food prep. We also had the old mangle or wringer as we called it. There was an old corrugated shed that had a free standing old bath in one side with cold water only to it, and on the side of the divide was the "laundry" ,with an old copper that was heated by fire that would heat water for washing abd wgen needed to disinfect sheests toweks etc the fire would be stoked to brong water to boing and whatever needed disinfecting was placed in the boiling water directly in the copper. Every thing went onto the outside clothes line first ( weather permitting) and then into the kitchen to be finished off or aired. So much more work back in those days to do EVERY job. NO trips to the shops in those days plus we didnt have a car ,only the big farm truck which was a cab with a long wooden deck behind it you could load a tractor on the back of it. As kids we'd sit on it up against the back of the cab and get splinters in our bums 😂😂😂Can laugh at it now 70 yrs down the track!!! Imagine such practices nowdays .😂😂😂 and yet we all survived it. Parents lived til their 70s and 80s and all 7 kids are in their 60s and 70s now. "Its a great life if you dont weaken" was a favourite saying of Mothers. LOL Til next time my lovely, stay strong in the Lord and the power of His might. May He keep watch over you, protect & bless you as you follow His will for your life. 🇦🇺🤗🙏💞👍👌✌️👏🤣✝️🇺🇸

We have not gone through as much wood either. Here in MN in our part of it, we only have had 9 inches of snow this winter. Apparently we are going to get nailed on Sunday and that's okay we need to precipitation. You keep safe and as always good blessings.

To make my house more secure I made all my outside doors open the opposite way so they can't be kicked in once a dead bolts are locked it's very secure and that's not Liked here in BC because if a fireman tries to get into your house it's really hard because they can't kick in the door but I prefer it that way
