As I continue renovating my remote cabin, I am starting to makeover the arctic entry and I'm so excited to work on a space in my home that allows me to be a little more daring with the design! In this episode I am working on decluttering what looks like a hoarder's mess and sharing my plan to transform the space into not only a functional space, but a luxurious off-grid bathroom of my dreams! Alone, I will pray that you are able to not only find, but acquire as well just the perfect copper bath tub for you! I had plumbed the bathroom in the upstairs of the little house for a free standing, claw footed tub during construction. But when an ex-girlfriend got distracted and overflowed hers on a brand new hardwood floor? I was afraid to ever install mine 😅! On another note. Aren’t you just the sweetest thing! And what a pleasant surprise it is to know that you have been following the adventures of Tali girl and me here on the Pungo Prairie. 'Getting to know us so well! I see you are a quilter. My precious daughter-in-law Carolyn was a quilter as well. We lost her back in early November due to a devastating tragedy that occurred during a routine hysterectomy. She left behind her husband, my Son, and my three young grandchildren. That is what Alone was referring to in this, her latest video. Carolyn had made the most Beautiful quilt for me as a birthday present three years ago. I have it to this very day covering my bed. It is among my most very treasured possessions. You quilters have such a very special talent and patience to produce the Beautiful quilts that you do! I would Love to see some of your quilts sometime! You could send me pictures to my email. [e-mail]. As far as my "shades" & "fake" cowboy hat? I keep my shades handy because my eyes are sometimes sensitive to bright light. Probably because of the sun's glare off the water from over a half century of being a boat captain. My hat is not even really a cowboy hat at all. JR of Dallas fame wore one of those. My hat is an Authentic "Shady Brady". Google it. It is made of straw. Yes it does have a western flare. John Brady created these legendary hats in Sonoma County, California. He started up his company in 1976. They are very sought after. I have been blessed enough to have owned 4 that were created by him before he passed away. The company shut down after that. However I have learned someone else has gotten it up and running again. So hopefully I will be able to acquire another as the one I wear now is becoming worn and tattered. God Bless You Sandra. Great ideas for your bathroom! Love the look you are going for. I love the look of copper as well; may I make a suggestion? Buy the largest long soaker tub with the claw feet you can find; porcelain or tin which is much cheaper than real copper and apply real copper leaf sheets on the outside of the tub along with real copper plumbing fixtures. It would be stunning. Amazon, Home Depot, Hobby Lobby sells the leaves in a "book" of 100 or so leaf sheets in real or fake gold leaf sheets copper, bronze, etc for about $5 or $6 a book. They are easy to apply and even fun to do so. Just an idea.

Hey Alone I'm from Alberta, and we have an outhouse on our property. The easiest way to clean out your outhouse, take two packs of baking soda per bucket of water , steer and dump it into ... and you done . May you need to do it few times. The best time for that is sommer, but you can give it a try now. The staff down there shrinks almost to nothing.

Hello from below ya in PNW..back to catching up. . to help with moving the tool boxes ..use the buckets to put the tools in that way you got handles to pack the tools down in .dont forget to label each bucket and the drawer as well.. Great vision.you could wrap copper tubing around the flueing to heat the bath water.. Take care

LOL...I think I would find any excuse possible to avoid moving those tools and cabinets. I could probably convince myself with the idea that since most the reasons I will need to use the tools are going to be above ground, I should probably just leave them be. No sense moving them down only to have to move them up to use. Love your furniture. I imagine the bathroom is going to be really awesome.

Love it!! May I recommend that you install bluetooth into your old radio so that it can be used to play your favorite music while taking a luxurious bath? We just did that with an old console Zenith 1937 radio. We absolutely love it. There are lots of videos on youtube on how to do it. Simple really. ❤

I seen a show where Alaskans broke down cardboard boxes and used on their cabin walls to insulate. Maybe that could work on your Arctic room walls. ??? Also.... Maybe a super duper heavy duty tarp could work to make like a roof over Keenans area. ????

Hi Alone! So good to be watching your video! You're doing a great job at organizing, very nice! I like your bathroom/hkt sauna idea, tgat will be so nice and refreshing, great for circulation and detoxing, sore muscles, super healthy! Glad you're getting more plastic totes, card board boxes draw brown recluse spiders, they love to get inside cars board boxes, lay eggs, and live inside them. So that's good to get rid of them! Maybe shred some of them for helping to build fires, but if you do, make sure to store the shredded straps in a plastic tote to keep those brown recluse spiders out. Very nice video! When I moved my big tool boxes/roll-a-way all I did was to remove the drawers with the tools in them, move the box/roll-a-way and then reinstall all the drawers, much easier.

Hi J.R.! I attempted to do just that but struggled to get the drawers out, and with daylight fading I just decided it was quicker to empty them. And that gave me a chance to re-organize the drawer contents too. No biggie... except when taking the large tool boxes downstairs that was a hassle!! 😳

Hey Alone, I wanted to tell you about this very cool stove fan that i got. The kind that you have has an internal electronic component that wears out after a year or three. This one has no electeonic components on it. It's a sterling engine and completely mechanical.It's very interesting to watch. Requires a little maintenance such as cleaning and oiling. Another wonderful podcast. Thanks for sharing. Love watching you because it reminds me of my roots growing up in the boonies. Just my humble opinions, but I highly recommend getting a 4-wheeler and snowmachine etc. And an attachment plow with a winch. They’re easy to run as a woman. I do it all the time. This is a must for hunting too. I know they’re expensive but they’re the 1st thing I would to invest in coming to Alaska. Also excellent for anyone that is going to be an avid hunter too. I’ve been debt free and id rather not have a new bathroom if it means a payment each month. I also don’t have a waster, septic, trash removal (I have a pickup and take my own trash - that’s all there is). I think you might be tuned to the wrong channel. It’s not about esthetics, even though she did deviate for one video- tine back in next week ,

@clairevagonis1873 People who live in remote areas in Alaska want a simple life. And what you might find is that not all regions there have plumbing/indoor plumbing or wired electricity. Alone stated a few times in her videos that she likes that tof style of living. If you had watched any of her videos before, she mentioned that she would like to have the cabin furnished in Victorian style. Also, she explained that she is not a fan of indoor plumbing/septic holes, etc. So she will have a really nice bathroom in the future. We just need to be patient. 😀

Im an avid outdoorsman fishing hunting atv and harley you are definitely a very hard worker .and very smart lady . Beautiful log cabin . I was curious how long winter last how long summer last .

Good Day Alone !!! Your cabin is coming along nicely! Very impressed with the skills you have acquired. It is a work in progress but can't wait to see bthrm.. transformation. Rain last night, then it turned to ice & snow. Still snowing today. Roads are ice over good. My sister would love it. She was court reporter for 37 years. Bought & renovated homes. She checks you now & then. Not a big TY fan though. Nice job have a great day😅
