Brother you do amazing work. Your vids helped me build my first Akm and helped me improve the quality of my builds. It really blows that youtube is trying to shut down guys putting out good information about firearms. Thanks for putting out such good content brother.

I've been watching your videos for years now and can honestly say I've never been disappointed in your workmanship. You go above and beyond with Ak's. I've applied a lot from what I've learned in your videos to some of my stamped builds and it has paid off a ton. Keep doing amazing work! 👍

Is this Monobloco lower heavier than the tin lower? And what would be the advantages of it compared to the tin lower 🤔🤔
@Mel64d2 жыл бұрын
The milled receiver is a small amount heavier yes. Not much though, a sheet metal receiver is almost as heavy as a milled when the front and rear trunnions are riveted in.

Have you seen a good way to reduce the effective gas port size ? I was thinking of tapping the gas port hole in the gas block, from the top. Then insert a threaded set-screw, with a smaller gas port hole drilled through it. If that makes sense….. like one of those Allen head set-screws that they use to lock down AR15 gas blocks. But shoved down into the AK gas port hole. Probably use some red locktite to keep it from coming loose. Or maybe just stake in place. Have you heard of anything better than that? I do NOT want to do the kns adjustable piston.
@Mel64d2 жыл бұрын
Yes people have done the very thing you are speaking about. Just be careful if you do, it’s easy to break the tap. Myself, I would press the gas port from its journal and weld up the hole and re-drill. But that’s me.
@wesleypipelayer76272 жыл бұрын
@@Mel64d .... originally, i intended to do that. But all the ones i want to do it to, are all cerakoted. And i'm worried that it's going to scratch it up, taking off the gas block and FSB.
@wesleypipelayer76272 жыл бұрын
@@Mel64d I’m wondering if I should just press-in a round bar. Friction fit. Give it a small tac weld to keep it from coming out. Then drill it new. Or pre-drill it.
@Mel64d2 жыл бұрын
@@wesleypipelayer7627 Not sure if a mig (wire) welder will reach down in the block good enough for a tack weld. Stick (arc) would reach but be a pain to clean up. There’s not a lot of room in the gas block bore to have a blob of weld and the piston head.

Your channel is much bigger and higher quality videos than mine. But I just want to let you know that some blue-haired nazziiie just hit all my Galil-AK Hybrid videos. So they all got deleted. Luckily I saw it happening, as it happened. So I went in and privatized all my other videos. For me this is devastating because these are my only copies. I never had them on a hard-drive. I don’t know if you’ve been hit yet. Just wanted to give you heads up that someone is out there looking for this kinda content. Just be prepared.
