I mean its clear something is taunting the people of the town with different points of trauma for them, whether its the same entity that was shown as Boyd's dead wife when he broke the music box I couldn't tell you. But they have to be related. There is definitely an entity or maybe even a person controlling the electronics using them to taunt the town's folk. I feel its got to be either the entity shown as Boyd's dead wife or possibly one of the creatures.

Just wanted to address something you said about the random plot of crops by the river or lake. Remember when Sarah said the forest manifests ppl who died fears. Like her brother being scared of cicadas, when he died they’re all outside. So my theory is when tien Chan died, that was her manifestation because her idea was to plant crops in different areas. The reason she died was to save the remaining food sources. So safe to say her fear was result of the cabbage patch, etc..

I think like humans turnes into vampires. When they are first bitten, they have to drink blood before they can fully function, I think that is what happened in Fatima and the elixir. Now the monster can fully manifest itself. So that's why she is eating the rotten food, as these creatures are rotten being.

Some commenter said that these mystical spawns are the manifestation of people's hopes/ideas, since the chinese woman(the one that monsters tortured) wanted to plant crops in random regions to help with food shortages. I don't remember season 1 very well so I don't remember who died before the livestock was found, but possibly this livestock was exploring the fields for a long time before the "main" character arrival

I think this place provides them with what they need. They just have to find it. There is no point in keeping them trapped there with no food, water, etc. They'll just due within a few weeks. It wants them alive for as long as possible.

exactly when they over come their fears of the unknown which is the forest they get rewarded, and vice versa. when they are ready their tree will appear in the forest also, and their quest will begin, its not a game but it is a challenge. they all have this in common, trauma!

They do not feed on hope. The false version of Boyd’s wife was lying. They feed on fear and pain and hopelessness and that’s why the false version of Boyd’s wife was trying to trick him into giving up hope. Also, as the leader of the town, everyone looks to Boyd to keep them going. So if he breaks then everyone in Fromville breaks and that’s why the monsters targeted him for their trap.

I think the town didn't make winter come and the crops die to starve everyone. I think it changed so that the crops would rot and it would feed the insatiable hunger fatima's demon baby has. There is literally an entire area filled with food that shouldn't be able to grow in such a seemingly harsh winter. The town doesn't want to starve the people, it may want them to be stressed- but starving them would end the "fun" for the creatures.

Fatima's "pregnancy" could also be a parisitic infection (a.k.a worms), additionally because she seems to think she's pregnant in the first place based on missing her period (can't remember if she had a test available-did she?) A worm infestation could have caused all of her symptoms, including abdominal swelling.

the town wants them to suffer with lacking of food. so they go to look for food somewhere else, they find food somewhere else and they start to hope again which this hope is what those monsters are feeding on. there will be no mass starvation because this will not only end the current cycle, but would end the whole event.

Doesn't the song always change? The jukebox goes on at the same time every day but it is often different songs. I think it plays certain songs at certain times depending on what is going on at the time. It's as if it is just another way to try and break them. Everything is meant to crush their hope and faith.

Cops were coming in to question Tabitha at the hospital, she was escaping at the same time that they were arriving and one of cops was a woman. Also in the trailer for the third episode Tabitha and Victor's father get in an accident. Perhaps she will be one of the cops coming to the scene of the accident, meet Tabitha there, learn about her story and eventually end up in the town.

I feel we are going to see this in the next few episodes, Kenny is still mourning Tian-Chen and Boyd seemed distressed near the end of the episode when his son tried to comfort him. I do still think they are going to go along with the plan of trying to burn the creatures. But honestly I don't think its gonna do much if bullets don't affect the creatures, but maybe this is a weakness finally for the creatures?

We have to remember the trees are moving so Boyd gave them the right directions but the forest took them somewhere else. Also pregnant women definitely lose teeth and if she has only been throwing up for 4 days and not eating losing a tooth makes sense. I don't know if you realize this but it was trauma she had gone through growing up up. After Thomas died. she had to figure out a way to be there for Ethan because her parents both just kind of you know they weren't there for them and it was a lot of weight for a 15-year-old so before tien died yeah I'm sure she was just like yeah go do your thing go find Mom but shiz got real and her trauma set in when she saw ethan you know pretty much having a breakdown and she didn't know what to do it's honestly a pretty normal thing, is called having traama

I just binged the 1st 3 episodes and I want to go on the record and say "They have absolutely no clue how to finish this show". when they made Season 1 they had no clue it would be so successful. Originally there was no plan for Season 2 or 3. then they came back together. Now they are winging it. They are going to raise 1000 more questions without ever answering the previous ones just to keep it going for as long as possible. What if Fatima, being very malnourished (more than she is now), ends up having a water birth at the time of her delivery…..and this is what Elgin is foreseeing in his nightmares? Her eating the rotten food could indicate that the monsters are trying to turn her into one of their own which could drive her to kill/drown her baby. Elgin seems to be good at foreseeing events in the town. This could also mean that this has been the monsters plan all along to rid the town of food, drive the vegetation to rot so they have no choice but to eat it; thus turning them into monsters themselves.

Ok so interesting little clue i just remembered. In season 2 episode 2 when the people on the bus arrive and they all run away from Donna when she shoots the gun to get everyone's attention and get them inside the diner, they split up! Some go in the diner and some run off in different directions. There was a couple that ran into the bar! When they get inside, the boyfriend is looking around and he says this town is like walking into a huge ACID TRIP!!! Victor's dad said that he and Victor's mom dropped acid and that after that his mom started having dreams and visions about the town, the lighthouse and the children!

Evidence: Boyd's tremors stopped with worms Martin survived without food and water for many years with worms. The only way for martin to die was to transfer the worms. My theory is the town has always existed even pre colonial America.(I think native Americans made the talismans/found or studied the demons) I think the town represents humanity and will continue to have people in it to fill a void. It has to have people in it because if it represents humanity’s survival an willingness to persevere and humanity’s hope, the world won’t end. But if tragically everyone in the town dies, it will be the end of humanity in the outside world. They are like the keepers of humanity whether they know it or not, and they have been chosen, like other towners before them, to continue it on.

This is interesting. I agree that it has existed a lot longer than people think. The settlement Kenny and Jim found appears to be from the 1500's-1600's. The diner in town is a 1950's doowop style diner. The houses have furniture, phones, appliances, lamps, etc. That appear to be 50's and 60's style. The colony house looks like an 1800's Victorian and it reminds me of a manor that a wealthy founder would live in. The monsters are wearing 50's attire and a few are wearing attire from other eras. The talismans look Native American or even Aztec or something however that wouldn't exactly make sense considering the town is in the US. The place itself definitely wants people there! They find crops and livestock in the Forrest and the electricity comes from nowhere! It wants them to be able to survive there even though they die at the hands of the monsters. Your theory is actually the best one I've seen.

Losing teeth, even more than 1, is sadly more common in pregnancy than people think! Due to hormonal changes, malnutrition, .. etc. I even heard of one woman who lost all her teeth due to pregnancy. Fatima is pregnant and hadn't eaten anything in nearly 4 days, so this can be more of a 'reality' thing than 'weird creepy town thing'. Even having very weird food cravings (dirt, sponges, soap,..) called pica- can be a pregnancy symptom! The tooth falling out + her eating weird food: they're dancing a fine line between horrific reality and weird horror fiction. Really recognisable for people who have gone through similar events. But I personally think, in this case there's a chance she's craving the rotten food because whatever is growing in her uterus isn't 100% human.

Two observations I made from this episode are when Tabitha was trying to convince Henry to believe her story, he didn't believe her until she mentioned how she was trying to save the children. Yet he clearly knew about the town and how it traps people when he was telling her about Miranda's visions, so why didn't he believe her when first mentioned the town. Also we keep hearing that the children are trapped in the tower, yet it seems if anything they're trapped in the tunnels. When Tabitha and Victor were in the tunnels we saw one of the children trapped behind some bars and when Jade went into the tunnels we saw the children laid out on the rocks staring up at the symbol. So they're hasnt been much evidence showing the children being trapped in the tower.

And let’s not forget about Victor’s sister. There’s the chance that she found her mom and her mom got her through the Far-Away tree before she died. Now she’s either still stuck somewhere around the light house or she somehow made it back like Tabitha, but didn’t make it back home to her father. Unless he’s been withholding that information, which wouldn’t make sense. She would’ve more than likely told him about what she had experienced. There’s the chance she could’ve repressed the memories, similar to how Victor repressed the memories of his sister, and gone mute upon coming back and now in an upcoming episode Tabitha and the dad are going to visit his daughter and will be shown the drawings and have her memories come back. I find it strange that he never says anything about his daughter being missing, he only brings up Victor being missing initially and only speaks about his daughter when he speaks about his family as a whole. Maybe the boy in white helped her back, but with her being young and dealing with the trauma of what was going on and seeing her mother die she repressed those memories and can’t recall what happened there. In the dad's backyard there is a bottle tree, what if it was created by Miranda before leaving in hopes that it would connect to one around the town, because now we know she knew about them due to painting one. Or Eloise made it after she got back with similar hopes to her mom or its due to the major role it played in her making it back home. Plus i feel like they're going to have to talk about Eloise and Miranda, because Eloise isn't there anymore and Victor found is mom dead.

I think the finding of new crops by Jim and Kenny is yet again meant to feed hope while messing with their minds in particular Boyds mind because he made the decision to go after the livestock because at that time he felt it was their only food resource and it resulted in Tien’s death yet there actuallyactually is more food resources. This is where this whole show starts to get very disturbing and it actually does make you think that maybe it’s a simulation of some sort trying to see how far humans will go to survive.

That's the problem, at this point what explanation can work with all the things they have shown. A place where electricity is wireless, specific gravity can tear down a house on command, sentient beings can see everything going on everywhere. You can have super human shape shifting monsters, as well as dream invading monsters that were originally worms in a person's blood. It's long past the point where they can even begin to explain any of this. Even it being a simulation, the whole thing started for Victor before internet even existed. Unless it's aliens who created the simulation humans can't have done it. So its either god level beings/monsters, or aliens.

This may or may not have connection to the show and the plot I don't really know but I noticed in the intro some of Victor's mothers drawing's appear to be in the intro, for example the boy in while with trees beside him from a scene in the intro. The trees look a little different in the intro but the boy in white is identical. I also noticed drawings in the intro seem to be depicting Victor and his sister. I feel some drawings in the intro can't really be traced to Victor's mother so I can only assume Victor was the one to draw some of the other images shown in the intro. I don't know if people have already noticed but I thought it was interesting how the introduction depicts drawings all potentially from Victor and his Mother, I don't know how this connects to the plot but it has to mean something right?

The thing that is most confusing is hiw could they get the supplies to build it when u can't leave?? There is a lot more to the town than some wood! The playground equipment, the pool! To build that town, everything had to be brought in by manufacturers and trucks. However! Was it built by actual people? I think there's something underneath all of this that needs to be seen. If the people starve then there's nobody to feed into what's actually running the town which is some force unknown to us right now. The creatures are working for an unknown entity that the show hasn't actually introduced us to. If everyone dies of starvation then they can't emote the feelings that that entity or entities needs for for sport or survival. So far we're not even sure if it's just one entity or several. We know whatever it is can communicate with the outside world because it brings people in to feed upon them. As hard as it may be it's possible that if the people can stay at a relatively calm and sane level, which of course we all know is hard, and actually communicate with each other more answers would be revealed. I don't think this is a place where one or two people can be the hero. I think this is a place where people have to work together and hold on to one each other like it was stated to survive. I think once people do that the crops will start growing again. It's possible that the sacrifice of the children was the last ditch effort to appease whatever dark force is there because the people could not work together. I don't know honestly I'm just looking at this from a military perspective.

I dont think finding the food was a writing cop out as you put it. It seems to fall very much along the lines of what Abby said last season, the town feeds off hope. If they push the residents too hard, they will lose hope. Killing Tian Chen is pushing the town towards losing that hope, but giving them their food source back would restore that hope, and make them willing to suffer more and allow the town to feed on that suffering/hope
