I have wondered what part Ellis has to play in the overall scheme of things. The answer may be in the opening credits: One of the drawings/paintings shows who I think is Ellis & Fatima: a monster's hand is reaching for Ellis? And red blood seems to be dripping from a tree branch onto Fatima. I think at some point Ellis is going to be killed. Also, overall, I think the trees in general play the biggest part of this whole story. 1--The wispy kids were looking up to the roots (that makes Jades sign) maybe they are the seeds of the trees, and 2----I think that Father Rudra Khatri who visits postmortem are the trees communicating with Boyd, as were the bartender, Boyd’s wife and maybe the boy in white. 3---I also of course think that there is an overall evil threatening the trees it controls the monsters and feeds off of the despair of others. 4---The tree on its side that brings everyone to Fromville could be a faraway tree that was chopped down by the evil to bring others into its WEB. 5----The Talisman stones have a figure surrounded by what could be trees. 6----Victor noticed the Trees were moving. 7----In the web covered forest Boyds wife was wrapped in spider silk (the Evil could be subduing the conscience of the trees) 8-----In the real world the drawing of the Boy/Man in white: he is surrounded by trees ( Like the Talisman). 9---There is a bottle Tree in the real world and in Fromville. 10--Could Jasper be carved from the wood of one of these intelligent trees? Hmmmm

What I have so far: The fallen tree over the road at the beginning could symbolize Ragnarok, the Norse apocalypse, in which Yggdrasil is said to shake and possibly fall. This fallen tree could be symbolic of a break in the connection between realms, causing the characters to become trapped in this twisted reality. The fallen tree might indicate that the natural order (symbolized by Yggdrasil) has been disrupted, leaving the town and its inhabitants in a liminal state between worlds. Yggdrasil is the world tree whose roots connect 9 realms, or worlds. The "faraway trees" are the extension of Yggdrasil and they are portals or bifrost. Nidhogg is a dragon or serpent that gnaws at the roots of Yggdrasil, the world tree. This act represents a constant threat to the tree and symbolizes the destructive forces that lurk at the boundaries of life and death. His presence underscores the cyclical nature of existence, particularly the inevitability of decay and destruction. Nidhogg's feeding on the roots can be interpreted as a metaphor for how fear and despair feed on the vitality of life, consuming hope and joy. He is associated with darkness and the underground, aligning with themes of death and the afterlife. In some tales, Nidhogg is said to consume the souls of the wicked, which ties into the idea of feeding on negative emotions and despair. This makes him a fitting parallel to the red entity in From, which seems to thrive on fear and suffering. The monsters from the tunnels are Draugr undead creatures in Norse mythology that can embody the fears associated with death and the unknown. They are often described as malevolent beings that torment the living, drawing on the despair surrounding mortality. They can also affect weather conditions. The last vision of Jade's, the one eyed man drinking what seems to be blood from a skull clearly makes a parallel with Odin which for Jade means: "you have to sacrifice something to gain knowledge and wisdom" needed to beat this place. Later in the promo we see the bartender telling Jade "if you want to beat this place you have to sober up". Also, ravens seen flying over fallen Yggdrasil are also a clear link to Odin. What else connects to Odin? Sacrifices! Sacrifices were sometimes made to appease gods or to ensure fertility and prosperity. For instance, the concept of sacrifice is prevalent in myths involving Odin, who often demanded sacrifices for wisdom and insight. The children from Tabitha's and Jade's visions looked pretty much like they have been drowned. S01E01 while playing in the RV Ethan and Julie mention "the lake of tears". After arriving to the town, Elgin asked Fatima "is there a large body of water nearby". What is Odin's weapon? Gungnir. What is Gungnir? A spear. Martin told Boyd "they are just the tip of the spear" when Boyd told him that they need to leave before the monsters come. Gungnir serves as a symbol of control and authority, much like monsters do. The residents are afraid of them and the monsters keep the town under control. Talismans - the runes which most people mistake for trees are a mix of runes Eihwaz and Ansuz with Inguz being in the center between two humand like figures. Clearly we have Sun and Moon on the sides depicting day and night. Eihwaz is connected to the yew tree, which symbolizes endurance, protection, and the cycle of life and death. It is often associated with the underworld and transition, reflecting the yew's ability to withstand harsh conditions and regenerate. In some interpretations, it also symbolizes the connection between the material world and the spiritual realm. Ansuz represents wisdom, communication, protection, and divine inspiration. It is associated with the god Odin, who embodies knowledge, foresight, and the power of words. This rune suggests a connection to higher wisdom and the importance of effective communication in navigating life’s challenges. Inguz has the meaning of ferility, growth, transformation, competition and inner strength. The totem like structures near the huts where the fresh crops were found by Jim and Kenny have the structure of rune Algiz which is used to represent protection and defense. Loki may have stolen Gungir and created the town as an elaborate puzzle or trap for his own amusement or as part of some larger cosmic game.

Well, didn’t they keep mentioning there were „worse things“ in those woods than the monsters they know so far and them being released? Then there was this dream monster that tried drowning Elgin, but so far I don’t see „worse monsters“. The situation as a whole gets worse, but I was kind of expecting more weird creatures coming to town and they didn’t. The dogs I don’t quite remember, did they appear together with the boy? I just remember them being the reason they ended up in that weird tree. If so I‘d consider them as more of a (evil) vision, because that’s what the appearances of the boy are to me. If I am not mistaken only three people are actually able to see the BIW so far. If all such things are being dropped again during the on-going of the show then it seems to be senseless to cling onto them. They just play into the confusion as you said. Do we even know how long this show will go? Is there a definite solution coming up or is the show aiming at keeping it all a mystery and the audience interested? Anyhow, let’s enjoy it as long as it lasts.

Mh, maybe that the bottle tree indeed is a connection to the outside world? That the BIW indeed guided Tabitha somewhere? But yes, generally there is a lot of hints that play into the confusion about the place (e.g. Do the trees move or not? Is there a meaning?). I don’t think the writers want the mystery to be solved, so there are no clear answers.

Just my theory........ FROM seems to be a metaphor for addiction. It's like being stuck in the same spot day after day, trying to escape. "Walking and getting no where" and like Tabitha, a person may escape, just to fall right back. But the object is to keep trying to overcome the addiction and be free!

That’s interesting, but that would mean there is no supernatural element to it - but why would every monster be dressed up in a 50ies attire and why would everything be so detailed, if it was just a trip? @lindseyswift3435 I‘m not speaking of the trip itself aka the monsters, but all the details. Logically there is no reason for all those details like the 50ies attire, the convoluted ways of how to use those trees and how not, etc. Anyway , I agree there isn’t much logic to be expected anyway. I agree it could be seen as a metaphor, but I personally don’t believe in them all or one person just having this all in their mind. I think I do believe in a supernatural element or someone playing an evil game. I mean imagine they kept the show going and going just in order to one day just tell us „gotcha, it was just a trip. Don’t touch drugs, guys!“ 😅 Let’s see whether there is somewhat of an answer at the end of this season.

I definitely like the cycle theory that has been mentioned around a lot because the bracelet Tabitha made and found twice and how the song blue was stuck in Henry’s car. Obviously Tabitha is very connected to Miranda and I think numbers play such a way more connected role in this show too. Miranda and Tabitha same number of letters, 7. Jim is short for James same number of letters at Henry. However, after seeing the reincarnation of Tabitha’s soul thought I think that makes even more sense though. So it’s cyclical where people all get wiped out there and then it starts all over again. But Tabitha’s soul is destined to stay there forever and just trapped there with the hope of “saving the children” will torment her soul forever and feed the town for ever. The numbers 4 and 7 appear more than we think about. Boyd Stevens, 4 and 7. The most important characters actually trying to be the most active. Jade and Tabitha connection 4 and 7. Even Christopher is 4+7=11. Thomas could some way connected to the spirit of Victor. Both names 6 letters. Tabitha has such a profound connection to Victor and she is the only person he is always nice to no matter what because he feels his mom’s spirit. They got there shortly after he died. Also interesting why Thomas calls on the phone instead of appearing to Jim because the phone call is why he died. I could see the series finale being something like Tabitha trying again to save the children again and everyone starts to get massacred by Jade. Ethan is the only one who successfully hides and then it cuts to years later where a family is driving down the highway and runs into the tree and it’ll be some 7 lettered woman that looks like Tabitha and it ends for the series lol. Also right before the scene the monster version of Boyd will kill someone so these scenes will happen pretty quick and maybe reverse order like they just get to the tree and then it cuts to night time and final scene is just Boyd just being a monster already and attacks someone. That would actually be a great ending lol. Also no coincidence Jade and Tabitha got there on same day again with the 4 and 7 stuff.

Regarding the Motel. Most comments, like Victor’s Dad, seem to assume the Motel disappeared or that something happened to it, but what if the missing Motel was never built in the first place? Perhaps it’s a clue that something cataclysmic happened to the town that prevented the Motel from being built. Or perhaps there were people or entities that didn’t want outsiders coming to the town? Clearly, there was something aspirational in the air… big neon sign, Motel, pool, traveling to Hawaii, etc. Perhaps there was a counter-movement in the town that didn’t want to open up to the world. And who owned the big house on the hill? It’s like a gigantic manor house lording over the town. That’s a lot of accumulated wealth. It makes me wonder if there’s not more to the actual history of the town itself and how it connects to our story and set off the sequence of events we now see playing out. Maybe, with all the development in town, something was excavated or disturbed that shouldn’t have been.

Maybe you have to go through the trees in a certain order but first you have to locate and map them out. Also, perhaps Eloise went in the tunnels and got lost. Those tunnels might lead to other parts of the land. The monsters probably sleep down there during the day to deter anyone from exploring them. Eloise mightve ran down there after leaving Victor and while the monsters were gone. I think Victor might find something of hers down there when he retrieves Jasper.

This show is great, I love the way the creators have taken a wide-open space (a town in the woods just off the highway) and have made it feel claustrophobic. I theorize either Tabby did get out and the Entity has a range of influence. Or She went deeper in... this would explain the bracelet and Tabatha's reaction to it. Maybe in this "tower" is one where you move from level to level with only one item to keep you on track, a reminder an anchor. The shows name of FROM would derive meaning, because then the victims would be moving FROM one area IE the town... to a new area. One that looks and feels like the real world. Possibly a far more twisted and deranged reflection of the real world. This would work from a writing standpoint as the season of winter coming would be a metaphor signaling the victims are done with this area. This would explain why the man Martin that gave Boyd the cicada curse, said "I always thought the town was the worst part, then I went through the tree." Boyd went through a Faraway tree to get into the dungeon not the bottle tree. But Martin, thought Boyd meant the bottle tree not a faraway tree. Mixed messages. Jade already saw the tower he interpreted it as Three tree roots.

In horror movies, and tv shows cicadas often symbolize several themes and concepts: 1. Transformation and Change: Cicadas undergo significant metamorphosis, emerging from the ground after years to shed their old skins. This transformation can represent themes of rebirth, the passage of time, and the idea that something seemingly innocuous can become threatening or monstrous. 2. Imminent Danger: The sound of cicadas can create a sense of unease or foreboding. Their loud, buzzing calls are often used in film soundtracks to signal danger or the approach of something sinister, heightening tension and anxiety. 3. Death and Decay: In some cultures, cicadas are associated with death due to their emergence coinciding with the end of summer and the fading of life. This connection can be exploited in horror films to evoke themes of mortality or the inevitability of death. 4. Isolation and Loneliness: Cicadas are often heard in isolated settings, contributing to a sense of loneliness. In horror, this can enhance feelings of vulnerability, suggesting that the characters are alone in a vast, uncaring world. 5. The Unknown: Cicadas can serve as a reminder of nature’s mysteries. Their life cycles and behaviors can symbolize the unknown, the primal instincts of nature, and the fears that arise from humanity’s relationship with the natural world. Overall, cicadas are used in horror films to evoke a sense of dread, signify transformation, and enhance themes related to nature and the darker aspects of existence.

i think the bottles with the numbers do work like addresses, but for the tree to actually take you to the lighthouse and from there to an intended location, you need a token. tabitha had victor's lunch box, and his address was inside of it. so she had both the number and the token. so if you get inside the tree holding bothe the right token + bottle pair, you get to the lighthouse. and then from there you can get to the specific location you want. only thing is you need to fall from the lighthouse, i guess.

Did anyone notice that Elgin had a raven on his shirt this episode. He barley changes close this episode he has a raven...... Also, I think Tilly was a "chosen one" or in a previous cycle she was there maybe even when Miranda was there. I think Tilly was there with her daughter, who was killed in Fromville. Tilly's daughter had 7 children incilleville who are the 7 ankooey children - which is why she knows Fatima's pregnant and why Tilly didn't freak out or rarely out Fatima when she caught her eating the rotten crops.
@jimmybillz5923Ай бұрын
My theory is that Fromville is a supernatural prison with several evil entities locked in there. It was created by an ancient native tribe or tribes with the Anghkooey kids as the original sacrifice. The keep the prison strong, a cycle of human sacrifices are needed every now and again. There are some "good" entities here..think of them as prison guards. The people drawn in are for the mass sacrifice and most of the people that we know in the show are broken/bad in some way. Freeing the children would break the seal and all of the evil would be let out into the real world. So in the town, you have 2 forces at work...one to free the evil...the other to make sure the seal stays strong and unfortunately sacrifice people. The town was unable to reset back in 1978 bcuz Victor (and maybe others) didnt die in the massacre. The seal is weakening and the town is becoming unstable. Once Victor dies, the town will reset to a modern version and the cycle will start again. The 1950's vampire creatures will be replaced with Boyd and some of the other townsfolk and a new set of "broken" people will be drawn there to prepare for the next sacrifice. I have more but thats the basic jist of my theory

That all the people who were forced to live in borderland were people who were in comas fighting for their lives and borderland was the border between life and death were you could fight in games to try to survive and come back from the games. I wonder if it's a similar situation here. That's why Tabitha woke up in a hospital. Her whole family is actually there, but she woke up first. And those who die in FROMville die in real life. In season 2 when they were hiding from the monsters on the back of the trailer with Victor there is a map in the background that shows all the fairway trees. It's the scene that the bus shows up and Elgin is running from the monsters in the woods and Boyd finds out that a bus came to the town.

From is about astronomy and ancient astrology. It is a cycle, the day/night cycle with Set the prince of darkness. It is also the annual cycle of the sun starting in Aries, as symbolized by fire, and heading to the winter solstice, and back to spring. The number 2659 is very significant in astrology. 2 represents duality. 6 is associated with love and nurturing. 5 represents change and freedom. 9 symbolizes growth and enlightenment. Together, 2659 in astrology , if you keep seeing this number it means the universe is telling you that you're on the right path. It signifies you have the support and guidance of the spiritual realm as you navigate life. The repeated accurance of 2659 may also indicate you are entering a phase of significant transformation. While it is a positive number, it can also be negative depending on the context of its appearance. It might suggest you are neglecting your relationships or spiritual well-being leading to imbalance and disharmony. Every answer for this show is in the stars. Its retelling the greatest story ever told, the story of the sun as it passes through the star signs during the annual cycle.

I've actually been going nuts over the motel since season 1! It drives me nuts that the sign and pool are there, but the motel isn't. The theory about the motel room numbers is stupid. Multiple people in town weren't on a trip and, therefore, not staying in a motel. Kenny and his mom were out looking for his dad, who had wandered out of the house, before they ended up in town. Father Kahtri was on a bridge contemplating ending his life after he beat a man when he heard the voice of God tell him to get in his car and drive, then he ended up in town. So, that theory is not adding up. Also, those old doowop motels don't usually have 4 digit room numbers. Hotels do, but not motels. I believe that the numbers definitely mean something! Eventually, they'll figure it out.

I think only Tabitha or chosens can get to the lighthouse thru the tree. When Tabitha first came I dont think the BIW knew she was Chosen, and was testing different town members that he suspected were chosen. He finally figured out it was Tabby lead her there but knew she would never agree to leave her family, so he pushed ass out.

if the place is feeding on people's suffering , i think , to break the cycle and get out of there is to do a deeply regrettable thing so even if they get out of there they will still suffer their entire lives despite being free , and also each cycle there must be different kinds of threats ,given the fact victor mentioned that people used to be in the town ,and they all got murdered in a single night in a manner the monsters would usually do , i think it's because the cycle ended with the birth of the next threat for the next cycle which were the monsters .and they all died because they had no defence mechanism against the monsters and also whyyyyy the hell does only people in a vehicle on the road end up there . ??

The Ethan Theory saying he died in episode 1 is crazy. IF that is true i guarantee Victor also died when he arrived. I thought of this Theory recently because I wondered if Victor died when her arrived in town. And if it happened to Victor it most likely happened to Ethan. That's how they're connected and why the BIW chose both of them

Theory : why there is a hotel sign and pool but no hotel. Hotels always contain Bibles in each room and Bibles can not be in From. Remember in season one the priest had to write down Bible verses he could remember. Priest usually always visit with their Bibles. The father did not have a Bible . I thought that was weird until Victor's father mentioned the hotel being absent

I think that the boy in white is one of the modes of travel to get out. He chose Tabitha for a specific reason to let her leave. I'm thinking he is one of the masterminds of fromville. I think the children were sacrificed and agree with that but I think they wete sacrificed to the BIW. I think Ethan will be the next focus of sacrifice to allow others to leave. The boy in white has chosen Tabitha and just like the sentences showing up in Sarah's arm, he will manipulate Tabitha to sacrifice Ethan.

Here's a theory: Ethan is much more important to the story then we are lead to believe. The entity wanted Sara to kill him. If Eloise is Tabitha, then what was the point of sending Eloise back to the real world? So she could give birth to Ethan. This is a long drawn out game between to embodiments of universal constants. So for every Tabitha Escaping, we get Dale in a wall. For every spoilt crop, we get deus ex machina crops sproutinf out of no where. For every monster. We have talismens.

If it is revealed that Fatima is not really pregnant, then why did Tilly "notice" a pregnancy that they had yo use an ultrasound to try and confirm? If she is pregnant. The motel is not significant, I think it's just a piece of world building to show how Henry is new to fromville and is pointing things out that we and the characters wouldn't notice because of all of the other crazy shit going on. It shows how Henry and Ethan, a grown man and a child, both have the same level of power and understanding in the eyes of the town.

The question that nobody is asking is WHY did the boy in white want Tabitha to find and bring Victor's dad to the town? Also how did Victor survive in the tunnels for 3 nights 'waiting for Tabitha' yet those monsters stay in the tunnels? Like there is so much in Victor's lore that we don't know yet. Tilly suggested using Tarrot only to interrupt herself with a crow😆. She's playing 5 D chess with herself. Two arguments for and against Tilly being evil. Evil Tilly: she suggested Tarrot and was going to show Fatima everything was wrong with a false card reading. Good crow stops her. Good Tilly: She believes in Tarrot and was trying to help Fatima but the entity sent a crow to disrupt her reading to prevent Fatima and Tilly from discovering the truth. These could both be valid but we have to look at the Crows. Crows were present when the ambulance arrived at the tree, the monsters knew to set up an ambush for Emt's and the voice on the phone knew Tabitha was in the ambulance. Only the Crows saw that. Father Khatri buried his sack of forbidden mystery in a field surrounded by trees, probably was being viewed by the Crows. There's other examples, but to sum up, Crows do not seem to be on thr Good side. Ergo, Tilly is gooooooooood!

Using the faraway trees effectively and safely may have something to do with one's mental and emotional states.....unless one is an inanimate object like a rock with a drawing on it, in which case, the threes just do a default maneuver and reject the item passing through by dropping it on the ground. The rejection would/could/does happen because otherwise, over decades or centuries, the interiors of the trees would get filled up with trash (leaves, potentially animal corpses, etc.) and become useless. Maybe? I wonder what would happen if a faraway tree burned? I wonder what would happen if a piece/branch of one faraway tree was placed in a different one? How 'bout one of the bottles? How 'bout fucking Jasper? I wonder what would happen if a person went into one of the trees with a rope/line tied to their ankle or wrist or something while someone outside the tree held the other end of the line? Assume, for a sec, that Fatima is pregnant. If she passed through one of the trees, would she still be pregnant when she emerged? Would she miscarry? Miranda's Camden bottle tree is probably also a faraway tree however, the mundanity of our material world acts as a severe impediment to its power. Only on Halloween/Samhain and maybe Beltane will the Camden tree work, and only then, for certain people. The Star Magic Motel is missing and there's a wrecked truck halfway in the pool. On the side of the truck, one can read 500. I fig'd this meant that the truck was a Ford F500, probably from the 1930s but I couldn't find a pic of a Ford of that model with headlights etc. that were configured like the wrecked truck has. In any case, I'd wager that the truck in the pool has something to do with this disappearance of the Motel that happened in the 1980s. Victor probably has a suppressed memory of what happened.....something big. Some big magic that went wrong. Nobody in town was there at the time save for probably Victor. Some smart ass like Jade was probably partly responsible for the disappearance of the Motel. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if the Motel reappears and goodness knows what would be inside of it.
