I like the way you communicate Dr Westman. the fact that you're speaking to your audience in a natural way, even with the um's and ah's, and not trying to put out a super-polished sales pitch production, adds to your sincerity and believability

I can't say enough about Dr. Westman. I had to laugh as my doc checked my cholesterol levels, they were high. I spent a day getting all the research together for him, charts, graphs, videos, I was prepared. He wasn't upset in the least, he said the only number he was concerned with were my ratios and they are perfect. All I could do was laugh. 😂 Dr. Westman, thank you for all you do. ❤

I met Dr. Westman recently and he’s the real deal! If only all doctors would take the time to really understand that carbs of any kind are the root of most health problems. Thank you Dr. Westman for a very informative visit.

End Your Carb Confusion arrives today. In the last year I’ve read, Carnivore Code, Outlive, Metobolical, Why We Get Sick, Mind Over Medicine and feel I’ve gotten a real education on nutrition and the state of our world’s health or lack there of. Thanks to Drs like Westman.

Thank you so much Dr Westman. Cutting out carbs has changed my life, ended my mental confusion, cured my arthritis, improved my VO2 max, and given me visible abs at the tender age of 54 ☺️
@jimrutherford277310 күн бұрын
That's great. How did you improve your VO2 max on diet alone without increasing exercise like HIIT training?
@scottpierce919510 күн бұрын
@jimrutherford2773 To be honest, I started feeling so good after cutting out carbs, I started working out. I walk a lot, but I think most of the VO2 max improvement came from doing 20 minutes of kettlebell swings 3 days a week. I do intervals of 20 seconds on, 40 seconds off. It's a great way to get your heart pumping. My theoretical max heart rate at my age is 166 bpm (220 minus your age). I routinely get my heart rate up up to 175 bpm or so while doing these according to my heart rate monitor.

@@scottpierce9195 keep it up. I'm 59 and mountain biking like a maniac, doing a few races here and there. I'm at about 20 to 30 grams of carbs a day and haven't felt this good since my early 20s. Now I understand why big pharma big food and our medical system doesn't want this information to be widespread. If everyone felt the way we do it would put them out of business.

My medical training (in 1970s) had a LOT of communication training. We didnt have specific 'nutrition' training, it was all in Physiology and Biochemistry, but then we didnt have the epidemic of metabolic disease and 'adult onset diabetes' was pretty rare.

YES! The referee videos are so fabulous because I watch videos that disagree with what we used to heal my kiddo and the rest of my family now over the years after learning from the kiddo’s healing but every time I watch the videos it helps to be reminded THOSE studies are based on high carb metabolism.

I can't forget the visual image of a boy (9 years old, I think) who succumbed to COVID during the pandemic. The TV news reported that he had no other risk factors, but he was quite over-weight which I associated with a high carb diet, chronic inflammation, elevated insulin, likely fatty liver, possibly low in vitamin D, insulin resistant, elevated blood pressure. . . .no risk factors? I think not. So very sad and probably/possibly could have survived the infection with a healthy immune system.

This is a great video and an important topic. I would love to see a video that discusses more thoroughly the 68 year old patient who believed that by controlling her weight and eating a mostly healthy diet, she would avoid the T2 Diabetes that plagued her mother. Yet, at 67, her A1c was 6.1 and her FBG had been hovering around 98 for several years. ⌛️📈🧬🎲 💣

I was a skeptic on the delusional keto approach. I was on a real Keto diet verified by measuring my ketones. I enjoyed the Reality keto lifestyle. From Dr. Westman, I learned the power of delusion - that Keto can be made simple by not measuring my ketones and to stop caring if I was really in ketosis. He taught me that I can still call my diet keto without being in ketosis. That made a great simplification to my lifestyle. Instead of being on a real keto diet, I just assume ketosis and delude myself that I’m in ketosis. It is so much easier and fun. The power of delusion greatly simplified my keto lifestyle. I wonder if I can apply my delusion lesson to other parts of my life for more simplification.
@aurapopescu187511 күн бұрын
Measuring ketones is the way to go. Dr. Westman's approach may work for people who have a ton of weight to lose and will lose it anyway if they cut out carbs, whether they are in ketosis or not. But for those of us with health issues, measuring blood glucose and ketones several times a day is extremely important.

Hello Dr.Westman, could you please make a video about what is allowed to eat and what is not allowed to eat on the dirty lazy keto and give a meal plan example for 2 weeks and some recepies? Could you please tell me for how many days can you eat sweets or starches/potatoes/pasta/rice/pizza so that you are still in ketosis and not cast out if it? Thank you.

Whey protein processes in the body just like carbs. Also, those protein shakes at Costco usually contain maltodexterin which is worse than sugar and has a higher glycemic rating and a greater insulin response in most people. The shakes also contain harmful seed oils like soybean, canola and vegetable oil, which can be worse than sugar and carbs.

Which ones? The ones I have been using to make Ninja Creami confections have a lot of ingredients but only 3 total carbs.

The first time, years ago, that I found out what the GI of Maltodextrin is, I was SO ANGRY at the lying food manufacturers. "Sugar free"!, they said. Horrible betrayal. I know who is severely handicapped and VERY diabetic who picked up a bag of "STEVIA BLEND" sweetener and I about flipped when I saw Maltodextrin in the ingredient list 😖 The GI of sugar is about 65 but Maltodextrin is somewhere between 150 & 180 🤬

I think I'm doing okay.🤔 Edited to correct values after re-checking. Yeah, my HDL is low, but now that it's cooling off, here in AZ, I can do more outside which will help.

Why are Protein Calories listed on the "Nutrition Facts" Labels? Proteins are NOT burned for their calories unless you're STARVING....AND... all of your Fat Stores are used up. Proteins are "Construction Materials"... not regular fuel. This is KEY when "going Carnivore". If you cut out 1500 calories of Carb Calories (375 grams).... you need to Add 1500 Calories (165 grams - about 6 oz) worth of Fats to replace them.
