I meet Shanice, at the time of her raise in the industry. I was an accountant at Breslauer, Jocobson, Rutman & Sherman in Century City. She Walked by my office with her mother and others. I stepped out from my office to introduce myself and say hello. Talked shortly, she smiles like she sings. She was down to earth, a beautiful person with a beautiful voice that wasn't ready for the music world she was getting into.

Glad to know that Shanice is still shining. Recently, I watched an old video where she sang a song with the legend Kenny Goggins in the Redwoods. They were magic together! 😃
@GaryTisdaleFungkSta16 ай бұрын
Got both CD and DVD, along with that's Kenny Loggins not "Goggins" beautiful duet and she tore those two songs up and it's why I'm criticizing this video since it doesn't really cover none of her accomplishments nor struggles, instead it's talking in circles not really hitting on nothing🤦🏿♂

Shanice has been one of my favorite singers since her first album. Mind you, she was competing with Whitney Houston & Janet Jackson in the early 90's. The music industry is a hideous business. So many great artists are built up then torn down if they aren't with the foolery, and sexualization. Not just the women. But men suffer the same treatment in the entertainment industry. It's sad! But I'm glad she is doing well in life! To this day, Smile is a go to song for me!

You left out chunks of information that left this feeling incomplete.. Flex was right there with her when she was homeless... You mentioned she was pregnant but didn't mention him like she was a baby mama when they've been married for years... You omitted that to make the comeback stronger but it wasn't factual.... They were together.. They rode the wave of struggle together (Martin actually helped them with that) and they are still together. Do your googles if you're going to tell OUR stories.. Yes OUR... you sound white which is fine... But you gotta come correct even more... It is what it is

Her first CD I had purchased in the 80s had 2 hits "Can you dance" and No half steppin " and they got a lot of urban play nationwide. Personally, I though this Lp was better than the CD with "I love your smile" on it. So she wasn't a one hit wonder. " I love your smile" is a happy uplifting song and the funny thing is it grew on me because her first CD was in the Janet Jackson's Control style and "I love your smile" was more commercial but I grew to really enjoy the happy upbeat vibe of the song and I really enjoy it to this day!!
@austingilesjr.9145 ай бұрын
I believe her first album would had done better if she had more hit songs on the charts! From her first album! Like if she should have made two slow jams music videos like Do I know you, & just a game! And one more dance song off that album plus them three songs I named would have gotten plenty of radio play on music stations, The first album would have been a true classic! Plus her second album would was real good, but imagine how good her second album would have been if she made a music video called You were the one & if the song would have gotten of plenty of radio play & would have been on the charts! Both of them albums would have been beyond better!

It's not because she was without talent, got married & had a family that she was blackballed (that's what it was you know) anyone who can sing like she can, should've been able to tour without any record label backing after they dropped her even if it was only performing in smaller venues. It looked to me like Shanice's own creative team of hair/fashion stylists, consultants, publicists and choreographers set her up to be cancelled sending her out there dressing and trying to dance like Janet Jackson (you know damn well JJ wasn't having that). Shanice was a sweetheart but unfortunately; she had no say in who she was as a complete artist or that whole comparison to a much bigger entertainer would have never happened.... I believe in spite of her career woes & personal financial hardships she dodged a bullet and shouldn't look back with envy due to risking turning into a pillar of salt!
