Dissection is Melodic Black Metal (Early) and Reinkaos album is Melodic Death Metal /Death n Roll.Storm Of The Light's Bane is the best album on this Melo-Black category.... As Black Metal,Panzer Division and De Mysteriis albums are important,also Darkthrone's Under A Funeral Moon

I bought this album when it came out back in 1994. Mayhem quickly became one of my favorite Black Metal bands, and this album became my favorite Black Metal album, and to this date still is. Norwegian Black Metal at it's finest. I also love Immortal, Emperor, Satyricon, Dark Throne, Ancient and so many others. My sister and I got to see these guys a couple of times, most recently January 21 / 2017 in Toronto, this album was covered in it's entirety and it was absolutely amazing!

Forget the dark bloody past of Mayhem, the controversies, the tragedies, the dead vs Maniac vs Atilla talks.. the best album worst album talks.. forget this is black metal... this is pure fucking extreme heavy metal crafted with fine artistic brilliance, atmosphere, progression and to fabulous effect by above par musicians and vocalists.. each one of them fit perfectly the character they assumed to fit the mayhem atmosphere and cult... they arent legends for past controversies and antics, but top notch musicians who never sold out.. Hail Mayhem!!!

Hellhammer is a really good drummer even though i don't trust the history, yo7 can't really trust anyone's history unless you've gone through it with them. i've seen a lot of comments about Attila's vocals not being good too, i don't see why people don't like it, he sounds like Dead &people fucking love that guy. i think i prefer his vocals on Pagan Fears, but Dead's vocals on live in Zeitz for the song is very good too.

i forget about Messiah a lot, I think it's the name associated with Christ. i don't like it but he & Maniac are good vocalists, idk all the members who've been in MayheM. Blasphemer, i don't like how he plays Pagan Fears but he's fine. again the history association, with this band&what happened with Euronymous, it's hard to get past. with any of the members, honestly. but the music is too good. i'm sorry idk the 2guitarists that are present currently, i'm sure I'll get around to it. if they're the ones who played on Daemon then they're very good, my favorite album since DMDS. Snorre is Snorre. I'm still trying to digest Euronymous being dead &my own life situations, besides dogshit.

Seenthemdothis albumin "2017". Great Dam Show them and Inquisition were both great. I dig they brought an American band to Tour with them. Mayhem back in "94" when this came out Ruled. It's a shame two of the members are dead now. They would have been proud.

I think you are mistaken as none of their vocalists have killed anyone. Dead killed himself, Maniac and Attila both havn't. Varg Vikernes of Burzum who recorded bass on DMDS killed Euronymous (the original guitarist). He was in prison for 14 years. Pretty much anyone who's heard of Black Metal knows this story
