I'm kind of surprised about how you went with the Nurgle ship. Honestly... I think you can justify the repair bots on a Nurgle craft, following the lore of the Chaos Gods. I'd honestly drop some of the weapons and make it a repair ship and give it repair bots. Super tanky, kind of weak. Just like how Papa Nurgle happens to be in play. Tzeentch I really, really want to see as a missile/torpedo/laser swarm. Just all of the strategies. All of them.

Megalomaniac [EL] The Coffin Nail is still in the game, but I think it's a bit outdated now, and so the chance of seeing it has been drastically reduced. However, if you want to fight it, you can always spawn it in the sandbox mode.

add 5 EMP packs and a late timed explosion (0.05 to 0.10 after estimated impact) and you got some very effective, very reliable CRAMS that even work against smaller vessels and those with excessive armor ^^

The armor damage calculation was simplified in the 2.0 patch, you only have to double the armor class of a block to ignore its defense now instead of having a small amount of extra penetration. An upcoming change to the new turret bases is that their turn rate will be throttled to a lower maximum rate. Current numbers being considered are a progression of 400d/s, 133d/s, and 80d/s from smallest to largest. This means that the 5x5 base will no longer be the best turret base in any circumstance where it can be accommodated. So you found the Crossbones I see. It started out as a discord user's personal project to build a DWG capital ship out of DWG ship prefabs, like a fancy version of the Patchwork. It caught the campaign manager's eye and got tweaked into being a new DWG unit.

A youtuber by the name of TheBudkai use to do this with limits mainly place on block count and repair bots. He hasn't done one in a long time (in fact his channel has been inactive for awhile) but the last one he had had some pretty interesting designs including a bomber that fired massive missiles (to take advantage of the kinetic damage) strait down and a fast laser flyer that used balloons for additional regenerative armor.

Harbinger Autumn log# 1573: It has been quiet on our borders for an entire week. It seems the war machine of the legion has started humming instead of roaring. Usually this means a new vehicle is about to be spat out by the gears. But we don't know were these ship designs come from. They come out already looking worn by battle but no knowledge of battles taking place. As if Lathrix designs his ships in a quiet oasis but with the odd sounds battle to test his new war machine. All we know is he comes up with ships as if a god had provided them rising out of the depths of this planet. P.S if your reading this Lathrix in my experience with CRAM cannons is to get penetration fuses with armor piercing, HE, and some frag so instead of chipping on the outer hull you dig inside the ship and blow it form the inside out. Causes much more damage in a smaller amount of time.

For the Slaanesh craft, I have a cool idea. Slaanesh is known for overloading of senses, do why not put at least 1 of every weapon on her ship? Would also be a good way of simulating the Kacaffony.

Why not? Well - because there's practically infinite amount of different weapons in FTD.. Of course there's limited number of weapon types but it's kind of arbitrary to say you should have one of each type and you'd still have some kind of weapons that can be said to be functionally different not there.. Perhaps a mix of damage types would be what you''re really looking for. EMP and grav ram damage mixed with explosion and such could be kacofoonic.

Big YES for tournaments with some tech limitations.. Yep - there has been those "Battleship Brawl" tournaments out for CRAM only armed ships already.. To make it different maybe allow small amount of more advanced technology but i'd like to see CRAMs as viable weapon there.- because they're perhaps the most entertaining to see in action.

Not overly fond of all these new DWG ships. So many of them just try to imitate the look of the Plunderer. Don't get me wrong, the good old Plunderer is absolutely amazing but one of the key reasons for its awesomeness was that it was a modern battleship in an otherwise ramshackle navy, thus making it quite the surprise when first encountered.

just an FYI something is wrong with how aircraft and spaceships work after the last update, not sure if its just me, but my aircraft seem to be drunk and my space ships just fall out of the sky no matter how high they are

Hmmm, I've not noticed anything odd since the last major update (The one which had the massive unity engine update and such) Which did mess with some designs, but since then these smaller patches have done nothing too obvious!

There were atmosphere changes made. Space is now way higher up, I think it starts at 900m. Another thing is that wings received a 16 times buff to lift per speed, so on small craft you need to be more careful placing them. While the current atmosphere has linear air density decay scaling all the way to space, that will be changing again. Air density will change to have an exponential decay rate beyond 300m, so that it is more difficult to create high altitude airships without committing substantial resources into lift systems or using ions instead.

For added devotion to the Chaos gods you could make each of the ships have a number of weapons that's a multiple of the god's sacred number. In the game it still gives you a free champion if you believe hard enough. edit: Now that I've been looking at it the symbol of Nurgle looks like a fidget spinner and I can't unsee it

Since I've seen a few people toss out suggestions about how each ship "should" be, I've thrown together my own ideas in about thirty minutes or so regarding the ideal configuration for each vessel. Admittedly, I am not 100% aware of the game's weapons systems, so fill in the blanks when necessary. *Khorne:* Rapid fire, rapid damage, not necessarily rapid themselves but the only thing that matters is the kill. As many, as frequent, as quickly as possible. Rapid fire high-power cannons that deliver as much damage as quickly as possible to kill as many enemies in the shortest amount of time. These ships should not have much in the way of armor, though I can see armor as acceptable if you can rationalize it will allow you to kill as much as possible. These would be berserker ships, since blood and death are acceptable on both sides, so long as there is a lot of it. _Ship Name Ideas: Bloodletter, Slaughtergod, Crimson Tide_ *Nurgle:* As he is the Chaos God of generous disease and pestilence, Nurgle's weapon systems should spread as much damage over as wide an area as possible. It may not be immediate, it may not be powerful or awe inspiring, but Nurgle's weapons will slowly debilitate their targets as their "gifts" spread out damage. It'd be especially handy if there is anything that can cause widespread system's damage without necessarily "killing" the ship. It should be slow, plodding, and heavily armored, since ideally at the end of the day, it should look like a ship that _should_ be at the bottom of the sea, but seems to continue on through some heretical power. _Ship Name Ideas: Bringer of Gifts, Virulent, Patient Zero_ *Slaanesh:* Glitz, glamour, and debauchery. These ships should have high-tech weapons that make bright, outlandish colors when fired, are incredibly loud and should be painted in the most garish colors imaginable. This thing should look like the combat ship equivalent of a person whose face looks like it is made out rubber and plastic, because it does not know when to stop the body mods. I'd also throw in a few vulgar shapes, but since you're not that kind of channel, we can skip that. As for armor and weapon efficiency? Killing the enemies is nice, but what's more important is that you make a _statement._ A loud, terrible, gaudy statement. _Ship Name Ideas: Hedonist, Licentious, Avarice_ *Tzzeentch:* A ship with this sort of theme in mind would, in my mind, focus on stealth, spotting or engaging the enemy way outside of their engagement range. Sniper weapons, long-range optical systems, anything that can let it strike from a distance or from relative safety. Shields might fit, but overall, a focus on striking the enemy before he can hit you back. And if there is any sort of jamming system, or a weapon that specifically target's an opponent's mind, I'd add that. I can almost see this vessel being a submarine, rather than a surface vessel. But, whichever works for you! _Ship Name Ideas: The Plan, Obfuscation, All Seeing Eye_

I know you'll probably never read this, but for future crafts: Make them go deeper so you can have all your shit underwater and only a small bit of hull and turret sticking up. That's how battleships in real life were built, because it minimizes the enemies' hit probability and makes vitals invisible from the surface.

You don't need to significantly reduce recoil, add large propellers on the bottom and use a PID to stabilise it, I use that on tiny ships and ships with high recoil cannons

Vehicle Logs: CRAM Dreadnought Currently unnamed, this thing can easily destroy the Malal's Will now that the Legion has found much stronger metals for use in construction. Heh, and the Legion thought that was already very powerful... Anyway, this dreadnought primarily uses CRAM cannons, and is affiliated with the chaos deity Nurgle. It's a big, slow block of armor, but it can dish out massive amounts of damage to enemies. The best thing it does though is take hits. Loads of fast, heavy hits. Lathrix can't see this dreadnought's full potential, but me and a few other Legionnaires can... _"Invulnerable and deadly."_

Heh, CRAMs just got made cheaper. Nearly every part has been cheapened. Those Explosive pellets used to cost 100 each. Hence why you do CRAM tetris to maximize what you bring out of it. (SPOILER Follows!) Btw check out the new DWG's titan Crossbones. It's like the Bulwark and Thyr, the only vehicle in it's faction allowed to go over the usual volume limit. Oh yeah Lathrix, Structural blocks such as beams provide a stacking buff to a blocks Armour Class(AC). This is only agaisnt explosive and kinetic damage but for example the first block behind a block that's being hit gives 100% of it's AC value to the front one. So wood backed by metal will have 3+15AC, making it harder than metal (still the same HP). Air gaps block this effect to the air layers between the armour significantly weaken it against kinetic and explosive. The air between armour layers does work great against HEAT, though. This makes Heavy armour backing really important (provides 40AC) and the backing bonus doesn't stop at the first layer (goes up until 7m behind if I recall correctly. Try shooting at 3m of stone with a meter of Heavy Armour behind it, beams preferably.

Lathrix, i like the "artillery battleship" idea, but i personally would have put quad 40mm Bofors on the main deck level instead of cannon. Simply for increased AA defense...

Does anyone else think the back of this ship looks like it should be the front? With how Lathrix has designed this ship, the conning tower is more toward the stern than the bow, yet on most ships, it's usually more toward the front (excepting things like cargo ships and tankers).

I just noticed that the lathrixian fleet is kinda like a gang: Every new member first has to let himself get beaten up by (one of) the other members and then has to kill some random person to prove himself. XD

0:54 - Pretty sure there's a good reason you don't use cram cannons all that much. That being, their slugs can only hit snails. Or the broadsides of particularly large barns. 3:00 - Jaw-dropping. Totally worth all the not damaging the enemy this ship will do. . . Not sarcasm. 4:15 - Before it was said I would have laid good money on '"for less than half the" firepower.' 12:00 - Wow. . . That was unexpected. I wonder about that maximum shells though with the new update. 21:00 - You totally should. It would be awesome. In fact, if you get enough submissions you should make it a regular thing. Still not sarcasm. The idea really tempts me to buy the game.
