This is General Bobby of the Lightning Hoods. NO!!! Has it really come to this so soon? The Quartz Stone Fortress has been captured! They took down our faction! I grew up in the Lightning Hoods territory, fascinated by their technology. I strived to be a part of that. I was, for a few years, I was a part of it. But now, where there was metal, there is now wood, and where there was lasers, there is now a whole ton of different kinds of weapons. I hate this. This is the end of our glorious faction. Our beautiful industries have been replaced by temples worshiping a Blood God named "Khorn." The White Flayers certainly didn't like this, as they had their own Flayed God and a religion around it. What happened today was unprecedented. They took our Scorpion and turned it into a wooden abomination, and hung the heads of our workers inside AI mainframes dangling from the ship. They gave it more cannons, more than just lasers. How do you use weapons that aren't lasers? And then, they took our fortress. Our mighty Quartz Stone Fortress that towered above everything ever built by the Hoods is now owned by a dirty worshipper of a Blood God. We can only hope that he won't adorn it with more AI mainframes containing the brains of what remains of our faction. I couldn't bear this pain. The pain that this Blood God worshipper made me feel. So I tried to do what I had to do. Me and my wingmen took him on ourselves in our private fleet. I had the Eclipse, a gorgeous laser ship I had crafted for slicing anyone who tried to take down our beautiful faction. My four wingmen had Beluga Elites, flyers that I thought would be excellent at helping me crush the enemy. But no, that's not how it went. The Belugas went down within seconds, thanks to the "Wordbearer," a former Lightning Hoods Scorpion. My Eclipse was next. I was knocked unconscious when they started tearing it to shreds. I do not know how I survived, all I know is that when I woke up, I was on a White Flayers ship, headed to High Lorham. They promised me that I could retain my former position as general of the Lightning Hoods, but instead, as a general of the White Flayers. It appears as if the Flayers have gone to war with the Blood-God worshipping warmongers, and that we have actually taken out a lot of their airships. In that battle, they finally found out the name of the leader of this onslaught: Lathrix. This is General Bobby of the White Flayers, signing off.

Lightning Hood Captain's entry It seems that the Lathrixian empire has caught up with me again, reaching deep into our territory and destroying our main fortress in a matter of days. I have survived the onslaught of the empire once but they do not seem to be slowing down, taking over ships and displaying the crew's heads as decorations for the ships they captured, modifying them to the point where they have been nearly unrecognizable and a ferocity to match their cold-blooded nature to kill. The leaders in the Lightning Hoods have already surrendered thinking that they would be their salvation but having already executed half of them the rest of them are locked in cages bloodied from the beatings they have endured. I, as well as a large group of other members have already made the trip to the White Flares because of our good relations with them and having heard what the Lathrixian empire have done to us have already declared war on them. However I fear that the White Flares might not hold up against them, especially when the time comes they capture their best weapons of war, and using those weapons against the White Flares just like they have done to the Lightning Hoods just days before. -A part of me really misses those fun times in the Deepwater guard, but those times are over the day the faction crumbled and there was nothing I could do to stop it.

I know it's good fun, but there are a few wrinkles here. The Lightning Hoods would probably never hire some random outsider for anything other than being an informant elsewhere in enemy territory. Not a chance such a person would ever get LH assets. Next is the idea of an outsider infiltrating the White Flayers, who are basically Khorne worshiping Aztecs who've been granted copious amounts of armor piercing machineguns. The zealot caste of their society is very suspicious of outsiders to say the least, and would likely give one an express voyage to the Flayed God via sacrificial grinder. Other factions which would never take in some random fellow as an officer are the Twin Guard, who are sentient AI factories who have no need for meatbags to command their children, the Grey Talons who see surface dwellers as savages that are best ignored or bombarded to oblivion for trespassing, and the Scarlet Dawn who are alien invaders.

Journal Entry 13: After being forced to flee Orhurst (turns out it was spelt like so), I couldn't believe the news. The Quartz Stone Fortress has fallen, forcing the 13 Sages of the Lightning Hoods to kneel before the Lathrixians, now officially called the Blood Guard. They were able to stab through the heart of the Lightning Hoods with a blitzkrieg attack so effective the White Flayers rose to defeat the Blood Guard out of fear. They now possess according to intel, one of the flagships of the LH, recoloured in Blood Guard colours and decorated with the hanging heads of the fallen captains. What a gruesome detail to think about. And barely have I came back to Cold Lock that the White Flayers suffered a massive blow, losing territory and their most precious flagship, the Judgement. The Khaz are starting to lean more towards war against the Blood Guard but peace with them is as important as our defence against the Twin Guard (TG) and the Steel Striders (SS). Maybe we could resolve this situation by asking them to help against the TG and the SS. But the Scarlet Dawn... Argh, difficult decisions indeed. Also on my way to the Cold Lock I found a dead body with a journal of his own. According to his journal, he was a DWG pirate who had joined the LH and went by the name of Lieutenant Thomas Gipson. Poor soul. This situation is difficult. I need some rest. "Milla Longrow" Onyx Watch intelligence.

I like what you did with the Scorpion, very nice. The Quartz Stone Fortress is just under 20k blocks and is a fortress, so that's where most of the lag comes from. If you look at it more closely, you can spot parts for their vehicles like the Beluga on the various platforms. The floating missile platforms could have been causing collision calculations at spawn and after their docks were destroyed too. I like seeing the detour into WF territory that was prompted by the slaying of LH. Being an unplanned complication makes it feel like you aren't in total control, which adds a bit of tension. Not sure what happened to the Devourer, though I'm guessing the opening attack on it carved out something important, but it looks like the Judgement gave you a fun time in its place, it just wanted to share the APS spam love you've been sending out right back to you.

because of the way he bum rushed them they didnt get any time to build up. so he just fucks them. That and the fact his ships have so much volume that only 1 or 2 enemy ships can spawn in against his 3-5 :/ also spending several hours building ships outside the campaign makes it REALLY easy

He's played this game practically since first release! He's so learned in how to best optimize weapons, armor, and everything else that he obliterates godly-level enemy ships even when building purposefully "weak" craft.

They're like the WF - some real offensive nastiness but also a lot of weaknesses, not really a "hard" faction, just a step up from the first two. Also he is using a captured godly battleship vs stuff with no laser defenses, and yeah his experience let him rush them with cheap craft.

Lathrix, the judgement's main turret at the top is a dual gunner rapid fire railguns which dramatically increases AP and kinetic damage. You should invest in shields for your vehicles to deal with that.

i suggest you make a custom fighter jet with missles that very fast with a open cockpit you can use it as you capture vehicle it would be strong in fight and very distracting for them and can get you ships quick before they disappear

You've mentioned boarding vehicles many times over the seasons. A trick I use is to spawn in 6 or so small air vehicles (under 700 blocks). Agile, with decent survivability but low DPS and cost, they're great to warp to in the event you want to capture something.

If you want a boarding vehicle, why not pull a white-flayers and make a ramming hydrofoil (or something) vehicle? It would still be useful, and if you want it to stop attacking you need only take manual control of it. Plus, there is a likely chance it will already be inside the vehicle you wish to, ahem, acquire.

Also, the issue of oil and fuel. You have centralized resources. You don't need to put a refinery on the Wordbearer. You can put a big ass refinery anywhere and keep it fueled for eternity.

@lathrix would you consider creating an incredibly high AP slow shooting laser? I find the fault in a lot of lasers is that they are simply firing too often, when you could just make the shots much higher damage, and with a lot of armor penetration, it is really fun to see a single laser shot just blow a hole through something :^) just an idea if you ever try your hand at a laser vehicle.

Vehicle Logs: "Wordbearer" Heavy Cruiser A former Lightning Hoods Scorpion converted into a serious war machine. Armed with the Scorpion's laser weapons and some extra CRAM cannons and a flak cannon, the Wordbearer is a force to be reckoned with. Being the final vessel to be made primarily of wood (Actually, this is more primarily made of laser components), it has some weak armor. This cruiser's bark is just as big as its bite, as it is adorned with mainframes from destroyed vessels as ornaments of terror. One is also hung over a fire, resulting in eternal pain to one of the mainframes. It can cause massive damage to anything that comes near, and is rather fast and light. It's also adorned with flags. _"Crimson points of light strike terror into the enemies."_
