Funny story, had anti missile missiles that I forgot to set to go for missiles only. So an anti missile missile distracts a ton of enemy missiles with its flare, targets an enemy, and begins flying towards it, with 20 or so missiles in tow. The anti missile missile slams into an enemy, followed by 20 enemy missiles, killing the enemy.

There is a little trick with belt fed that, if you use a large enough gauge and enough inputs (for example, a 250mm cannon with 4 rounds per clip and 4 inputs attached per clip), you can instantly fill the ammo clip as soon as belt fed switches from the firing to the reload state, allowing a continuously firing belt fed with no down time. An ultra compact 120rpm 250mm cannon is absolutely terrifying.

I remembered once making an anti-missile cannon that fired 400mm timed HE slugs at 200rpm, it was quite amusing using it as an anti-air... but not much else unfortunately. The problem with higher gauges is that you have too little modules to work with, 250mm in a 1m belt fed gave you 4 modules, which is just enough to create the most basic of shells.

For some kinds of shells you only need the basics though. 333mm HESH rounds, GP-HE-SH, fired at 300 rpm, can do some crazy DPS. And if you need shield-busting, mix in or switch them all to GP-EMP-DC. 400mm is great too for timed or inertial fuses, like GP-Inertial-Frag/HE, and only needs 3 intakes instead of 4 to fill up its clip. Although there is that 5-10 second delay before returning to the firing state now, having enough instant-reload beltfeeders lets you get a minute or more of firing for every 5-10 seconds of downtime, which really can do an incredible amount of DPS.

Wow, you figured out the Mothership's secret pretty quickly. Yes, it is fed power by all of its drones, and last I checked it was capable of sustaining flight with just one or two of them. As for the drones facing the way they do, that can't be helped. The docking stations have elevation control which makes them pitch, azimuth control that makes them roll, but no means of controlling their yaw so so turning them to face a target is a no go. We could turn them around by actually turning the intended direction I guess, would need to see how that looks. Part of what makes it look so good though is the somewhat angelic nature of the Mothership looking like a holy throne, with the drones encircled around it facing as far away as they can be made to. And I can say that the 5.6 unity update patch is in the devtest client, which also includes a bunch of design updates. So look forward to that.

The limitations of the docking station prevent us from pointing the Mothership's drones to face forward. We can pitch docked vehicles up and down, and roll them side to side, but we can't turn them so they have to face directly away from the docking station.

The Mothership is also flawed in terms of its placement, but it should come through along with Artillery by the next update, hopefully with a couple of other things.Unfortunately missiles might still not hit anything, but because Glao has no difficulty settings, a particle cannon should be enough of a challenge.I might have to look into lags later on. I've also asked for a permission to go nuts with subvehicles to make up a thick weighless armor, but given how stupid the idea is, I probably won't receive the blessing.

I have a question. Who decides whether or not a new faction can be put into the game?

Most of the time, developers decide on faction guidelines when a new campaign is made - so not very often. Once the guidelines have been set, they're posted on forums, at which point volunteers begin designing crafts roughly corresponding to these guidelines. To date, I haven't seen a new faction be added after the others have already been estabilished. To not get things confused, I'm simply a volunteer.

I notice that there seem to be heat decoys on the mothership drones; any thoughts of also putting radar on them (either radar buoy missiles or, if it works, active radar), in an attempt to distract radar missiles? All the active radar missiles completely ignore the decoys and go for the mothership.

You should put a short range high damage on the back of the hauler, then tell the AI to prioritize the smallest enemy, this way it will grab a craft then just tear it up with a partical cannon with a range of only like 30

My friend Owen is a wizard at this game, he built a cannon with 3 500mm barrels and a 300mm barrel in a small space, the 500mm Fire every second and the 300 fires about 500 rpm. He just picked the game up two months ago. I don't know how he does it. Since he got the game recently he doesn't know how to build a cram cannon, his ships are super ugly, but somehow his cannons shred through the toughest of the enemies with ease.

Using interceptor heads on decoy missiles also works really well ( particularily for torps with sonar bouys ). Actually what works best for radar decoys is just regularily shooting one into space... You can stack torp props - my regular ones are 8 block, 3 props, 1 fin, 2 tanks ( 3 props is a bit marginal on one tank ), TPG ( I should try dropping TPG, I don't use it for antiship missiles ), ballast and OneTurn, and I shoot them laterally out of either side of my ships; one fin is enough to swing them round the right way & they do 58m/s in a straight line. My 4-block decoy interceptor torps only have two fins also ( and three props still ), I've never seemed to need more fins on torps. I guess dropping them vertically into the water might want two fins at least. Seems I was ( happily ) wrong about inputs on the loader, I'm sure that wasn't always the case... My poor heart may not be able to take the shock of a season finalé!

Fast moving craft giving you trouble? Bring more lasers. Lasers shoot at light speed. I believe you can set the targeting A.I. To target the fastest vehicles first. Your also missing a fast attack element. Something fast and cheap to distract the enemy while your heavy hitters do their damage. Still my favorite series you do. You're also my favorite youtuber. so keep it up good sir.

Ok just had a neat idea. How about a B-17esc bomber plane armed with either a ludicrous amount of small to medium sized torps or perhaps 1 or 2 EXTREMELY LARGE torpedos (I'm talking capital ship sinkers). Also put numerous small low caliber turrets on it that while kind of terrible shoot really fast AA shells (either flak or sabot should work nicely) for defense. Also shields if possible or make parts of it out of super heavy armor.

The slight delay in on the outer one in the beginning test is because you assigned that input, the clicked assign all. So it immediately loaded the first shell, then started loading all shells.

No matter how I set up my AI (land AI) my vehicles will ALWAYS after a certain period of time give up and go head on against the enemy. I've tried to make them stay at around 1000m meters from the target, put the broadside angle at 75° (default) and the "enter broadside below this range" variable to 40. Doesn't work.. Am I doing something wrong ? please halp

Actually, no, amazingly! Particle cannons can do FAR higher damage per shot, even when thinking of the splash damage of CRAM. But lets face it, nothing is quite as glorious looking than a 2000mm CRAM cannon explosive shot going off ^-^

I checked a while back and the fromm what I saw the Scarlet Dawn had only one of their fighters in the spawn list on the GLAO campaign so I think they aren't quite implemented yet.

There was trouble with coding them to spawn onto a map they hadn't been present on from the beginning. I'm not sure about all the particulars but they are indeed broken, and I don't know if they'll ever be fixed in Glao.

If the place the Intakes at the autoloader instead of the clips, the Shells will be loaded faster inside the "Barrel". Not the clip but the Barrel or gun. (Just what i read from the Game description and personal opinion). And a question, is the Tutorial series going to be continued? Because i'm still pretty bad at building ^^

This only really works with regular autoloaders and causes all sorts of issues even then honestly! With the beltfed loaders they really need a stock of shells to work with otherwise its shoot-wait for the input to hand over a shell - shoot , which is far far longer than going through their rack of shells (Beltfed loaders massively outdo regular autoloaders at taking from the racks and passing it to the barrel, its their strength even though they can't take from the input during firing phases!)

I honestly disagree :P For its stupidly low cost It outdoes pretty much every other vehicle - Especially since It is still the highest damage vehicle I have, aside from the tank which is technically two vehicles in one. It is just targeted way too easily due to its high 'weapon value' and since It is over 60% weapon with its volume It simply can't be more defended than it already is. In short - It's a glass cannon, and any upgrades would just lower its damage for more defence which goes against Its point, in my derpy eyes at least! :D

Regarding the gun reloading science - you might be interested to try something else: #1 single customizer, two belt fed loaders, 1 input each #2 single customizer, two belt fed loaders, 2 inputs each (or even a mixture, shouldn't matter) #3 two customizers, two belt fed loaders, 2 inputs each (1 per customizer) and just stop-watch the complete reloading time
