More ammo intakes do increase the load rate of the clips, not for the actual gun's ability to fire of course. Also, repair bots aren't allowed, it's just that some designs slipped through the purge. The Juggler has a pending update that removes them while also correcting minor issues. Do take note that the Juggler is using gravrams, hence the name. Artillery has a pending update too, and I'll need to have a word about raising its spawn altitude once the content dev gets back, this might be an issue with the previous version of the design being a boat though so the settings weren't adjusted. With that said, I'm glad to see the Fast Assault Craft did its job properly, good job not being an embarrassment.

There were a few. They ranged from the repair bot path finding and model rendering being a source of FPS loss, to just prolonging battles beyond the point of being helpful for the designs. Once a design is substantially damaged, repair bots really can't help do anything but drag out the fight, so Nick (the guy who started the game) decided they should go. I'm of the opinion that there are some designs that should have them in limited quantities to repair very minor but important damage, but that's not my call to make.

APS Ammo intakes works in such a way that there is X seconds for a shell to be passed from ammo customizer to an APS clip. Ammo intake can always take only 1 shell per reload cycle which = X. An autoloader therefore loads at a rate of 1 shell per ammo intake per X. Which ultimately means that beltfed with 5 autoloaders will reload in 1/5 of a time of a beltfed with just 1 intake. Good to note (in regards to belfeds) is also a fact that beltfed autoloaders have 10s "cooldown" period after the clip is completely filled before they are able to fire again. All of this means that having only 1 ammo intake for the sake of adding additional clip will result in longer period of firing follow by kinda brutal time to reload. With this knowledge is also good thing to pair a fact that you can really well work around reload times of beltfed autoloaders which can result in basically 0s reload time for a beltfed based cannon. Good example would be instaloading 500mm guns (which no longer work due to 10s cooldown period being added) where each loader was able to hold 4+1 shells and had 5 ammo intakes: all 5 rounds were fired in exactly the time X by the time the 5th shot was fired the clip was instantly reloaded and show could go on forever (honestly it was OP as sin). And even though this exact method is no longer possible you can still make (lets say) 100mm aps (24 rounds per clip I think, not sure tho) where you have 4/6 ammo intakes and you know that you have 6 or 4 reload cycles which are x X = Y+10s loading time for the whole beltfed. Make secondary round of beltfeds which will fire their load in Y+10s and by the time they need to reload the primary round is up and ready to deliver the pain. Svorty I have do it with a 120mm cannon in the Ashes of Empire campaign, it fire at 1000rpm for abaut 1 minutes, after that you have 10s of reloading and then it restart fire.

What you said about 500mm guns is still way better than the fire rate you could get out of standard autoloaders with identical shells. I really like using 333mm GP-HE-SH or 400mm GP-Inertial-(HE/Frag) or GP-Timed-Flak in single clip beltfed loaders with 3-4 intakes per loader, because with enough total autoloaders set up that way, it can get you a minute or more of rapid firing powerful shells with only a bit over 5 seconds of downtime. (It claims to be 5 seconds now instead of 10, but does take slightly longer.) Ammo definitely does get loaded faster with more intakes attached. Even for standard autoloaders, particularly larger ones with multiple clips, you often want at least two intakes, sometimes three, in order to keep up with the rate at which shells are consumed. (Interestingly enough, intakes attached to any side of an autoloader or any side of any clip attached to that autoloader all count toward loading any one of the clips attached to it, not just the clip they're directly attached to.)

Excellent idea for a mini series: you modify fans designs to your liking, changing detection systems and what not. Then you face your modification against the original. No using counters specific to the original craft, and keep within a reasonable block count. In order to not feel bad about messing with other peoples designs, only except designs posted in the comments of the series. (post your designs down below if you want Lath to do this)

Just got the same idea, dragging enemy would render it's weapons less useful, especially lasers, immobilise it for non-harpoon torpedos to finish it, and PID system-controlled rotorblades will keep you submerged. It would make for a nice support sub. Also, regarding the name, there is nothing more fitting, than Kraken. Old design from the forum, judging by the screenshots, can't stay submerged.

Yes, beltfeds are the loaders you *do* want as many intakes as possible for. Using four will cut the reload pause down to between 1/3 and 1/4 - the intakes on the loader are less efficient - and if you do a little maths you can set the gun up to fire continuously at faster rpm than if it was using standard 1m loaders. Those torpedos... you rarely need more than one fuel tank, you could replace the others with props and it would still be fine.

each ammo intake request ammo individually, and then inserts it into the autoloader/ammo clip. this means that more intakes linearly improve input speed. If an intake is hooked up to a loader, though, its speed is halved to prevent very compact, save clipless autoloaders

@lathland man... ammointakes 101 = each feeds one shell to the rack. thare is a maximum number of attachment points on each rack. intakes do not add to each other, rather they work simultainius. 2 intakes on one rack will not feed the shell 2x as fast (as that is dependent on the diameter of the shell) but they will feed 2 shells in same time one takes to feed one shell. hope that was helpful. keep up the FTD vids! ;)

Yes the ammo intakes help. If I have a clip connected to two intakes and a clip connected to four intakes, the clip with four intakes will load twice as fast. An ammo intake will put in one shell per tick, so if you have two it will load two shells per tick.

From my examinations, more ammo intakes does load faster. I use the open clips as I like to see the shells while testing, and when I have 2 intakes 2 shells drop in, 3 intakes 3 shells, etc, etc.

I love your designs, but I've noticed you never seem to include Target Prediction Guidance modules on your missiles. It makes them so much more accurate versus fast and maneuverable craft! They also would have directly intercepted the water skimmer instead of coming up behind it at 25:30. (though I'll admit that bit looked awesome)

Lathrix, each ammo input on a clip will reload the clip at the rate listed. Each ammo input on a Loader will reload the loader and any attached clips at 50% of the speed of an input on a clip.

Just one or two harpoon cables were enough to start lifting up the tank... seems you could get away with only a few of the missiles being fitted with them. Also, since you're firing them down, changing some to torpedoes could be effective. Heavy EMP on the non-harpoons to prevent breaking the blocks the harpoons grab?

at the 17 minute mark, you talked about the ammo. Basically what you were describing is something that also happens in anty game that has BOTH fast mags (the more ammo loaders)and extended clip (the ammo you used instead of the intakes) attachments (CoD as an example). This creates a question, which is better? More ammo per magazine or a faster reload? In Titanfall 2 the answer will almost always be fast mags (or whatever it's called) due to the fast pace of the game and the fact that you don't get a lot from the extended mags attachment. My question to those who read this is this, which would you use? Fast mags or extended mag?

Each ammo intake have its own timer so technically more intakes will make the reload happen faster, however with beltfed loaders after they are fully loaded it will take about 5 seconds to activate after full reload, however with regular autoloaders you never need more than 2 as the reload speed for them is always half of what the intake is

the ammo intake don't directly modify the reload rate of your gun , but can slow it down when your clip is empty , you need to reload it with the ammo intake but if you look at the stats of a shell in the ammo customizer , the time to pass a shell to a clip is double the time to then load it into the turret to then fire , so , if you place one ammo intake for one autoloaders , you will , when your ammo will be empty , have your turret slow down because of that time , to counter this , you need to place two ammo intake for one autloaders hoping it will be helpfull :)

It is indeed helpful, but I'm afraid It doesn't apply to the autoloaders I am using in this video! Beltfed loaders can not reload when the turret is firing, and once they start reloading they do not fire (Unless set up otherwise, which is never as efficient.) until full. So in essence, the beltfed provide WAY faster clip to turret load speeds (Far faster than shown on the shell stats.) but then when empty they have to wait until loaded, so you will not see the effect you were mentioning, in which the fire rate slows to the rate in which the inputs can keep up.

Will adding both EMP warhead and inertial fuse disrupt shields for a brief moment, so other shells will pass through while the shield regenerates? Seems totally logical for me, but how is it set up in the game?

There is an actual component that converts EMP damage to shield damage on advanced cannon shells for this very purpose! So no need to mess around with inertial fuses (Which would not work in this way, sadly!) It is simply a warhead that activates on shield impact.
