Lathrix, unless this has been changed, there is a something on advanced cannons called a 'supercavitating base' this allows advanced shells to travel through water with a 90% reduction in drag. Couple this with an armour piercing nose and you can create a cannon for submarines that takes out critical components from below.

I personally don't think AP rounds work that well, because the SCB massively reduces AP and kinetic damage, it effectively halves the damage if you try to maintain around 20 AP. Instead I'd use Frag shells (like the Candycane sub from the Christmas Campaign) or higher calibre HEAT shells.

He also needs to try 30mm (yes that tiny) Advanced Cannons with 6+ Autoloaders loading max length frag-shells (those get a length of about 24 modules). around 2000 damage per bullet with firerates muuuuuuch higher than his guns, easily 1500-3000 bullets per minute. reload rate about 2mins per clip tho, but the alpha strike basically kills every large craft for good recource spent per killloot gained.

17:50 there are suicide mini subs. The Japanese used them, they are called Kaiten- The Kaiten were manned torpedoes and suicide craft, used by the Imperial Japanese Navy in the final stages of World War II.

Lathrix you need to try "detection view", it shows each detection radius as well as showing actual detected points and predicted movement of enemies while out of building mode so you can tweak the system it a bit better. Not sure if you knew this already but I don't see it bound on your toolbar. Cheers mate!

Just small tip: Torpedos with magnets and ballast -15m are very effective. They're almost always hitting because of magnets and they're hitting almost always bottom.

Lathrix when you said explosive suicide submarines you made me think of the Japanese Kaiten suicide torpedoes from ww2. They were basically a manned suicide mini sub.

Lath you could use propellers on the sides set to roll and use a PID to maintain your angle that will save you blocks in particular with the limit in the campaign. the same can be done with your pitch control versus spending 5 blocks on a helispinner and acb you could go 1 or 2 PID with as many props needed

Now for something a little different, cue Monty Python music! Also, the sub looked a bit like the Jules Verne Nautilus initially, so I approve. If you set a few of the rear hydrofoils backwards it helps bring the nose up and down faster and having a couple torps with target prediction helps split them up a bit. Nice vid!

Makes me want to make some Subplanes. Using only hydroplanes to make a small fighter submarine. I am kinda obsessed with small, swarm designs while having only a couple large support craft. I have a couple plane designs that only cost 1200 ish and only have 120 blocks.

Lathrix you will get better control if you reverse the direction of facing for the hydrofoils that are behind the center of mass and just use the new control blocks, you will be able to go backwards too.

i hope you see this Lathrix! that second faction will be your doom if you try to fight them with your MCV alias Doombus! they will drag it to sky and rip it apart. i had to witness them doing that to my MCV. if that MCV is destroyed, it's game over. same deal as in adventure mode. Glao is one hell of a campaign to try. like, they just came casually and destroyed me in single fight.

At the end of the video the enemies can see you cause the buoys can be wireless snooped. Since the sonar buoy is already a must for torpedo defense you can never be really stealthy in a sub.

You should make a particle cannon that does a lot damage with the least amount of drop off fast firing shot gun and call it a Tesla cannon. Make it a medium range shoty with lots of spread

Lathrix I must ask. Why do you love automatic weapons and missiles in games so much? I myself dislike those kind of weapons and am more of a fan of Slower firing, accurate, and powerful (In raw damage not dps) weapons. and I prefer weapons that I control entirely by myself. Additionally, two other things I would like to say; I'm not saying Dps focused weapons and handsfree weapons are inferior, (infact they are sometimes better especially in CQC or fighting mutable targets) And secondly I'm loving this series I'm glad it's back, you are one of my favorite KZbinrs because of you're logical but derpy (In the good way) personality. You also seem to care a lot about you're audience, And play very different games from the other bigger KZbinrs. I watch. Additionally I say one of my favorite because I also watch 2 other KZbinrs that are similar to you. Also I love the more tight nit community that is devoid of the cancerous comments of other KZbinrs. Anywho keep up the good work lathrix. (and forgive my spelling errors, I also have dyslexia which makes me not word good sometimes)
