If you're going to do that, you might as well just dock a heavy armor cube with shields. Add in some repair tentacles to it and some repair tentacles to your own ship and you have a healing tank decoy.

+Omegagoldfish So 'smart' that It doesn't work anymore, as healing tentacles on docked vehicles no longer heal the vehicle they are docked to since a few updates ago, hence why I don't use them on the fortress on the Onyx watch campaign anymore. Really like the idea of just letting the Shrike loose on something occasionally to drop bombs. One thing to do with it though is modify its missiles for air-to-air or air-to-surface action and have it function as an extra firing platform.

+Lathland Due to the Vulture's weakness to shields; I would suggest giving those EMP anti-shield Disruptor Conduit caps a try on one of the advanced cannon turrets. They will lose some accuracy, but still deal kinetic and EMP damage even when not hitting a shield.

Here's some tips to make the adventure enjoyable. 1 : NO AI. Go full manual control for weapons and movement (some automated control blocks and PID for stability are ok tho) This will make battles feel real tense and you can actually fail and makes them harder. Ranging shots will be necessary, you'll have to chose where to aim (propulsion, AI, Weapons...) and learn where you can land critical hits on enemy ships. 2 : Don't make optimized builds. Build for looks and funs, makes the game 10x more enjoyable. Try not to be to defenseless tho... 3 : Create a story for your ship, in your head, on paper, in the videos... Again makes it more fun and goes with point 4 4 : Use your story to come up with some creative and fun ways to defeat your enemies (personally, as a submarine, i go for harpoon mines to get the enemy above me then unleash some emp torpedoes to capture them). Again, wether you go for long range rail gun of doom and want to feel like a badass sniper, go brawling with broadside CRAM cannons or be a missile porcupine of death it WILL make battles feel unique and you'll need to use your head to make your craft works agains varieties of enemies. But once again, try to have some sub weapon systems counter unexpected things, just in case you're in troubles. 5 : Manual shields. Forget them and you're dead. Adds to the complexity of gameplay, and allows the enemy to bypass your vigilance. 6 : Find a goal. You have to decide what you want to do with this game mode. Wandering aimlessly just gets old pretty fast. Set a difficulty you want to get to, a number of ressource you want to collect... Whatever makes you feel you accomplished something. FYI the goal I set is to find a suitable difficulty level and build a fortress city in it as well as a little defensive fleet. Basically, create a setting and rules you'll have to respect. Trust me it will make it way better.

Lathrix, my first time trying adventure I built a small fast boat, and before i could even finish it (propulsion and engine and basic ai was done) i was attacked by a flying squirrel in the starter zone. I couldn't outrun it going 30m/s as a ship. RIP adventure mode.

The vulture is a demigodly design because it is a long range sniper with good long range guns and specialized ammo. I say keep the turrets and use them on more craft (Maybe small craft for long range support). They make for good first strike capabilities. I like cannons on aircraft. Is it possible to add small cannons on a shrike like aircraft so that it can fly around and shoot the targets?

Dyscalculia is when you can't comprehend numbers and dyslexia is when you have a hard time to read words.

Dyslexia can effect the ability to read numbers in the same way as reading words as they can easily be mixed up , when there is a series of numbers you have to READ it Is the same as reading letters - Dyscalculia only refers to the difficulty of using numbers in calculations , I had trouble reading the numbers correctly, it falls under dyslexia. I have dyslexia, my mother has dyscalculia as did my grandmother, trust me I know what both mean. Hope that clears that up :P

Normal silently takes the discarded spinning shields for assimilation. :) Those sniper cannons are gorgeous - mix the ammo with an experimental one. Player controlled units are superior in every strategy game. Lastly what do you think about a tutorial video about detection systems?

The problem with this game mode is that most of the faction vehicles are made for fleet missions, whereas here you need to make that 1-ship-does-all and stay with that concept. Imo either make new vehicles that do that exact thing, or make it so that some of the units (e.g. the shrike) spawn as a fleet/squadron of either a lot of low tier units (again 2 or 3 shrikes backed up by a few fighters) or fewer low tier with 1 or 2 heavy units for support (i.e. a few small fighters with a big all-in-one-ship). Im in favor of the latter as it would make the game much more random-feeling and more exciting than this boring sea simulator. Of course this is still a WIP so things will inevitably change.

Two things A. just speculation, you are a really good player at this game and there for where able to build a flyer in the short grace period the game gives you, most people could not have done this. Because of thins fact I think that the adventure mode was balanced for ships that can't move as fast meaning they stay in the same place for longer. I think this greatly affects the difficultly because they don't want you gathering resources for long with out a fight. In short I think you are moving to much, not between plains but just around. B. Can you please retro fit the shrike to be a jet that is actually decent next episode :)

Put a vehicle dock that hold a tiny drone that goes out and hase a ridiculous missle that dose like a million damage then it redocks and stays till it reloads and if it gets destroyed it is automatically remade with the hope that the missle will take out almost any small ship

I just started playing FTD, and have been messing around in the creative mode trying to get the hang of things. I haven't touched AI or fuel engines, yet... any tips regarding them?

In terms of ai stuff I don't know. But for the engine stuff you could check out IRElandgaming they got a pretty good videos on the engine stuff. Not sure how up to date they are.

When It comes to the fuel engines, mess around with the smallest engines you can make - Each element will make a huge impact and quickly teach you what does what and how you want to build them (Worked for me!). When It comes to AI Its a bit trickier due to the new detection systems, so that will take a bit more practice, but nothing beats trial and error in the creative mode - I for one can't learn well from tutorials, and tend to do better slogging it through mistakes and learning from them :P

I don't know what Nick's algorithm is for adventure mode but I was faced with an Iron Curtain at difficulty 0.7 then a Scarlet Dawn Scream at difficulty 1.2. The worst for me is the long spawn time between battles, even after 5 hours in a single plane. Haven't even needed a blue gate because I have so much down time to do upgrades.

I would kinda advise you to add at least one slow firing large gauge gun to shoot deep into larger opponents.

I would fully agree but the shells I am firing already go through 3-4 layers of metal beams, not fully destroying them but certainly enough to take out mid-tier defending AI. When I get to the harder difficulties I will certainly be upping the gauge and such of the turrets though! :)
