My problem is that after removing and greasing the flexshaft and reinstalling it. The stuffing tube liner moves up towards the collet and is visible when I rev the boat. How do I fix this on my brand new boat?

I’ll never forget the first time I greased my flex shaft

Hey horizon desk… got my 42 a few weeks ago. Been unable to run it because of friction in the stuffing tube. I’ve put a video on my channel showing the problem. Do you mind taking a look? Thanks

Whats the proper way to adjust the strut to keep the boat from proposing so much?
@gearhead7623 жыл бұрын
Thats really crummy that you have to pull the strut to grease the shaft and compromise your strut setting every time you do it. On a well designed setup the shaft should pull out just by unlocking the collet so the strut setting stays the same.
@ledwin87703 жыл бұрын
And you're supposed to do this every couple of runs? 🙄

@@gearhead762 u dont have to do it the way he did it , thats a waste of time what he showed.

Porpoising can have a number of causes. #1 C.G.: ensure the boat is balanced at about 28%-32% from the transom. After hitting a wave and jump, It should land straight. If it lands butt first, it needs weight in the front.(move batteries or components further forward) #2 strut angle: if the angle is positive (prop pointing up) the motor will make the bow rise, and vice-versa. the best angle is perfectly horizontal. But, you can try a little negative and see how it goes. #3 strut depth: the strup (and prop) being deeper in the water will push the hull up, and vice-versa. If the hull is too up the water it will be very unstable, porpoise and chine-walk. Try the strut a bit more up(same angle) from the keel and see how it goes

that is alot more simple than doing it for the miss geico 36 and sonicwake
@barthutchison42073 жыл бұрын
How do you figure? Those only require loosening the coupler, not removing the strut.

Why don't you just take the prop off ? This way you do everthing all at once. You save a step. Just don't take the nut all the way out so it will be easy to pull out. Save on taking the strut screws out. To each there own. Just extra work for nothing. The miss geico 36 is similar to the m41 traxxes. Easy to do. You can do the same on this boat.I have all 3 boats.

This has to be the worse design ever. All this work just to grease the shaft every run. I want to like this boat but can't.
@andrewishkanian76872 жыл бұрын
All that work. It’s 5 to 10 min. Just think of it that way.
@VetteWay2Fast2 жыл бұрын
I kinda agree with original comment. Most boats just require loosening the coupler and collet. This is a lot of tear down to just grease the shaft. Removing the dog, prop, strut, and rudder is way more intensive than most. Doable…sure but not a simple 2 min job like on most
