Not many people are aware, but Border's bowling average against the full-strength West Indies batting lineup is better than even Dennis Lillee, Keith Miller and Ray Lindwall.
@Bernie8330 Жыл бұрын
If you are referring to his 5 for in Georgetown 1991, you are getting way too excited. His 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 5th wickets came after the West Indies were already more than 200 in front, and that was already a lost cause for Australia when they batted again. Even his first of those five wickets may have broken a partnership, but it also came when the West Indies were a mere 20 or so runs from hitting the lead. Zero impact, performance, but the type that easily bloats the kind of stats that you are attempting to manipulate.

@@Bernie8330 who needs to manipulate to highlight Border's abilities. The guy averaged 24 with the ball against the WI and if he had to take the ball to break partnerships, your foul tongue should be towards unpenetrative specialist bowlers Australia or should I say Border had to contend with. Or are you one of those typical Border haters living in the Chappell era and fast-forwarded directly to the Mark Taylor generation.

Border 7/46, Bevan 6/42, Clarke 6/9, Katich 6/65. Aussie batters who rolled over their left arm were kind of capable!

The funniest part is that both Trev Hohns & Peter Taylor were in the side. RIP MM.

Decide late to go and watch this day standing at the back of the hill. Taylor and Hohns bowled well with no luck in the first session. Then Border ran through them. A strange day of cricket. Not sure how Richards was out, but being the man he was he took it well.

Is Geoff Marsh related to Shaun Marsh? He looks just like him here except he's not failing at test cricket. :P

Their overall records are very similar. Both had mid-30s average in the Tests and did a lot better in the ODIs.

I see why the ump gave him out but it was off his forearm, not the glove.

I'd love to know why the ump gave Richards out: - LBW - edge - hit glove after pad Maybe 3 x .3333333 = a wicket

How did such dross get all those wickets ? The batsman never took sufficient care to put away those long hops and just holed out
@paulscottrobson6 ай бұрын
Sometimes it's just your day. By my reckoning four long hops, top edged sweep, edge onto the stumps and a wrong decision. The gods were with AB this day !
