Perfect length. Not a single short ball, half volley or full toss!.....he altered the line around off stump and just outside. He moved the ball in both directions off the pitch....and programmed batsmen by testing their understanding of where their off stump is... that spell to Sachin wow! Glen was one of the best of the modern era in all formats on all wickets.

Sachin was equally great in both front foot and back foot and he was great against spin the 90s as well. He was flamboyant than Dravid, that doesn't mean his technique was imperfect.

I think one of the reasons McGrath and Warne were so good is their consistency and their variation. Also, the fact when Mc Grath bowled an over there was no let up, so when say he finished, at the other end you got Warne coming on or Lee. Australia had a great team back then who put you under pressure, with the bat, ball and in the field too.

It would be difficult to stop world class batsmen with length only. Look at the ball move in this spell. Even he was offline in one or two deliveries, the batsmen were preoccupied with what the ball was doing and they could not find gaps.

Best of the Fast bowler's coaching manual. McGrath was hitting the length consistently in that channel outside the off , nipping back inside sometimes .Those lengths are very difficult for a batsman wether to come forward or else connect with still stance position. Great fast bowling

its more his length! Glen toys with off stump/ just outside off stump line off a VERY disciplined length. Tendulkar can punch off the back foot on good line bowling.....its the length that troubles good batsmen.... they cant come forward to drive, yet the pitching ball can move, causing issues for back foot players...

Those are not wide lines. It was left to the judgement of the umpire. But of course it was more linient than today's standards. Also pitches helped bowlees and boundariez were further away.

I find it ridiculous that people compare modern batsmen with those from older times. Cricket nowadays is designed for high run-score. There is nothing in it for bowlers, so obviously someone like Kohli breaks Tendulkar's record. But are those two equal, not even in half.

this was unbelievable he hasn't bowl a bad ball in his 10 overs and took 4 wickets and nowadays probably the most hard to get over batsman and to get wicket because the batsman invented many shots which they can play to protect themselves
