McGrath giving instructions on how to swing the ball is hilarious; even he could barely keep a straight face. An all time Great bowler, but fair go Glenn, in all the incredible years I watched you bowl i didn’t see you swing the ball more than 3 mil. Legend but.

The greats like like McGrath just found the ideal length so quickly compared to others. That wicket to wicket line meant he just had to deviate the ball slightly for the effect to be magnified.

In 1990s to 2000 this Australian team was perfect in all aspects. Domination... indians used to pray that we should win against them at all. odds... Shane Warne,lee,mcrath,gilly,kaspr9vitz,etc .. batting was 7 batsman lineup which has Gilchrist at no 7 ... likes of ponting,martin ,hayden ,leman ,etc.... they set examples to win repeatedly world cups... until india came back at 2011...

Something that confuses me is why Mcgrath isn't in the greatest fast bowler ever conversation enough.
@avishek43811 ай бұрын
He is.. only the new generation fans and some Asians think otherwise.. For me (and many other long term cricket fans), he is the greatest pace bowler of all time.. better than even the likes of Ambrose, Marshall, Akram and Lillee..

@@avishek438 it's a fact & not a joke, mcgrath can't play the 3rd format even if his life depended on it. Hazelwoods better, even the bowler who troubled Kohli most too across all formats.
@srikanthsv7911 ай бұрын
@@avishek438 in fact current Aus trio are best of all time surpassing even mcgrath, Lee, Gillespie for the sheer ability to be dominant across formats & also due to better technology too which makes them plan all the deliveries as per each batsmen weakness & trigger point.

If you get selected in Australian National side for 3 years without drop, You are going to be legend in Cricket History. That is the Standard of Australian Cricket. Australian Cricket faced challenges from West Indies in 1970s & 1980s. Australia also faced challenges from Pakistan & Srilanka in 1990s. However, Australia overcame all these teams & found the solution to counter attack them and eventually succeded. Now, Australia is facing challenges from India steadfastly. Australia might have won the 2023 World cup against India. But, Australia has to find new theory to dominate India. Because, India is a 1.44 Billion population & Talent hunting is nothing
@11hitmanDagenius Жыл бұрын
Why would any team or national board focus on dominating one particular side? They should and ought to focus on the process of developing, nurturing and ensuring an environment where they can play good cricket. Moreover,having a pipeline of talents is no ticket for success at the highest level. Performing at the highest level under pressure is another story..

Kohli struggled against James Anderson. I can only imagine the nightmare he would have went through facing McGrath. Today's bowlers are no comparison to the bowlers from that era. If you don't believe me, just watch footage from old matches in YT. The difference is night and day...

@stanleysandeep11 ай бұрын
@@srikanthsv79 Hazelwood just knows how to bowl consistently short of good length in that corridor of uncertainty. McGrath had other tricks up his sleeve like reverse swinging yorker etc. I consider Sachin & Lara the greatest batsmen the game has ever seen. Because they scored runs against the likes of Curtly Ambrose, Wasim Akram, Shane Warne, Muralidharan, Shoaib Akhtar and many many more. They also had to deal with old reverse swinging ball (ofcourse they brought the rule to change the ball mid-innings to rig the game towards batsmen). Don't forget the pitches also, just flat tracks with barely any deviation off the seam. Even the boundaries are also small nowadays with advanced bats where one can smash six smoking a cigar. Now back to the topic. Both Sachin & Lara even with their god like skills consistently struggled against McGrath. That simply shows how he tested batsmen in the 5 day format. In the ODI format you could dance down the track and put McGrath off his game. But, in test matches it was a totally different ball game...
