Chris needs a name change, eg- Professor Meikle. Chris you are so knowledgeable! Who would not consider buying an Avarez guitar after watching your videos. I have never seen any other guitar company put this sort of effort into the explanation behind the manufacture of a guitar. Thank you, Dee and Tim. I did purchase the MD60 EBG to compliment my Cole Clark FL-2. keep them coming👏👏👏

I really like the sound of Khaya African Mahogany. No wonder I like playing my AD66SHB so much.

I was told Bear Claw is from the wood taking up so much water that some of its fibers (xylem cells) burst. More common near rivers/streams etc. One example of how acoustic music is a literal collab w nature. Cool...

Now I truly understand why Adirondack and Rosewood work so well together. Just tapping the tops sounds musical. I've had great respect for the Yairi Models since the 80s, but thanks to J.P. Cormier, I sought out a used MD60BG a little over a year ago and have since very much enjoyed melting the faces of Martin D18 owners nationwide for a fraction of the cost of a real D18. I can hardly wait to get my hands on a MD70BG and start sending Blue Ridge, Eastman and Recording King owners back to the store asking for a refund!!! Thank you Chris Meikle for your devotion to such a fine guitar brand

Thoroughly enjoy your videos. Informative and entertaining. Please continue them. Thanks to all three of you for taking the time to put these together. Such a difference in tone wood sounds surprised me. My MFA66CESB sounds better and better the more I play it.

I own 3 Alvarez guitars...one is a classical from the mid 1970’s, and I cannot find ANY information on it. When looking up the serial number, it comes back as a steel string dreadnought, which it is absolutely not. Can I contact Alvarez to find out more about this guitar? I will be doing a demo on my channel soon of all 3 of the Alvarez guitars I own. The other two are a Masterworks OM in all solid black walnut, and that old growth mahogany Yairi...FYM66HD. Outstanding instruments, especially when looking at prices. Peace. 🐰💙🇺🇸🎸🎶🤝✌️

Guys When the "sweet spot" is found in the piece of wood, is that positioned in a certain place on the final guitar?
@AlvarezGuitarsOfficial2 жыл бұрын
Great question. Not specifically, as we are adding bracing, back and sides, etc., but certainly the “sweet spot” of the guitar is considered during wood choice, bracing and bridge placement.

What surprised me was, The Walnut had a higher pitch tap sound compared to Adirondack. And yet Walnut has a more mellowed sound compared to the punch sound of Adirondack. Any ideas on why this is. 🤔🤔

Thanks Anthony, understand what you mean, some of these surprised us a bit as well. We'll have a followup next week where we discuss what we discovered, make sure to tune in, we'd love to know what you're hearing, too 👍

Hey guys. Id like to hear a comparison between an OM or 00 Masterworks v Yari to see if the difference in price is really worth it.
