You brought up some really good points that I too now wished they had done. Harmonizing is actually something I've been hoping they'd do for years cause they have such wonderful and easily distinguishable voices that mesh well together. Even when they harmonize in the studio recording, they seldom do so in live performances. I'm still holding out hope that they will harmonize live more in the future!! But for now, as some pointed out already, their "Time of Our Life" cover on It's Live had a bit more harmonizing if you'd like to check it out :)

Yeah, I agree, though of course these criticisms apply almost to the entire field, because idolatry is the focus, not singing or dancing. It's also a matter of expectations, rather than lowering standards. To me, this felt very different from a music shows, which often seems like a well-oiled machine working through its routine with a bit of flair attached, so I appreciated the looser atmosphere and didn't need it to be professional, but yeah, you've said it: they try to make it too professional, which causes a mismatch of expectations in the first place: the production, the mics, the way-too-big stage. Though I suppose the size of that stage probably makes artists feel good and is more appropriate in these times, because distances can be kept, but this atmosphere would gel so much better with something more intimate, detailed (cluttered, even) and mundane. I agree with your points about the band, too. "I'd like to see her [Jiwon] sing a ballad", then please put this into the search bar: 프로미스나인 (fromis_9) 'flaylist' 'Lady GaGa - I`ll Never Love Again' cover by 지원 Hayoung, the other vocalist, also did a great cover recently, under [fl▶️ylist] '竹内まりや(Takeuchi Mariya)- Plastic Love' cover by 하영 Seoyeon, whose voice you like: 프로미스나인 (fromis_9) 'flaylist' 'Nikki Yanofsky - Something New' covered by 서연

@@Koko3op try to check hayoung and jiwon on "Lee Mujin's Service" too, these trio (jiwon, hayoung, and mujin) covering "Time Lapse - Taeyeon" are so good. imo this is the best Time Lapse cover ever. you should check it, i'm sure you'll ike it 🙏🍀

For an actual full group live performance i'd say their latest mcountdown encore was pretty good. Some tuning issues but overall it's a pretty stable group performance. from what I've seen, the best place to see their actual vocals is in their behind the scenes videos (i think that goes for a lot of groups too). A lot of good small clips of them singing well. Idk if it's a video to react to but they put out a cool bts video of their talk & talk dance practise and Hayoung is straight belting while dancing 30 seconds in lol

just wanted to share my thoughts on the not more harmonizing and stuff for it's live. i feel ike a bit of it is that each of these production companies want their content to be slightly unique and i feel like two of the main ones that are popular currently are killing voice and it's live. from my perspective i feel like killing voice is more known to show off more clearly the singing abilities of these artists while it's live is more about getting to hear the band arrangement of the song with them singing live. I do fully agree though i feel like on it's live they use the original backing track way too much

The main reasonable answer that i can give about "why instead they doin a kinda acapella" with more harmonization and etc is because the lacks of time to practice. FYI if u know when they have their promotion schedule, they have pretty busy schedule. They have to do a pre-record for music show since 01-03 AM(depends on the music show terms), then goin home, and go for another radio show on morning, and goin back to music show in the afternoon for a music show contentsband recording, after that they go to do an offline/online fansign, or go to another radio show, and goin home on midnight. And it repeat for a week or two during promotion period. And yea, that's just my assumption why they're doin harmonization on this kind of show, because doin harmonization is kinds tricky to a girlgroup that have their own line on their songs, evento they can do it, it need more time to use to have an harmonization performance on their song. Yeah tbh I have no doubt their schedules are insane but it’s also an industry standard about what to prioritise. Dance can take 12 hours of rehearsals everyday whilst vocals take a back seat. Schedules have always been crazy, it’s about what companies want to utilise and make 2nd nature and performance is the priority at the moment over vocal harmonies etc.

@@Koko3op that's also true, cz fanservice is also top priority on korean idol standard, u can be critisized even cz wearing a masker on street photoshoot section before doing a music show because u dont have to do so much fanservice by smiling and etc. But if u want to know how they do it, u can watch their cover "Time for our Life" on the same channel. Its not fully harmonization performance like u expected but they did it very well, especially ur fav member, Lee Seoyeon.
