I also wanted to say that the Time in a Bottle segment was very insightful, and an excellent tie-in with the Jim Croce song. Ethan's comment that they never had time for each other at home and Fatima's comment that they might not be able to fit in at home because they're different people now all seem to suggest that this world is a type of "way-station" where they learn things about themselves. We have the dates of the Civil War and the trial of the Basque witches...I wonder what those other dates mean? One of the dates was 1712, and there was a famous slave rebellion in New York along with a disagreement that led to the split (in 1712) of Carolina into North and South Carolina. The dates are also briefly shown on the wall when Tabitha is going up the spiral staircase in her vision. This show is an enigma...and you could be one of their writers!🤗

Sorry, I said 1712, it was actually 1752. That year was the final change over from the old Julian calendar to the Gregorian calendar, causing a sudden "loss" of 11 calendar days. This dropping of 11 days caused riots throughout Britain, America, and other English colonies. Could this shift in time be important?

Thank you! I remember reading about the calendar change in 1752 and the confusion about the perceived lost time. If the writers truly wanted they could factor that into a narrative of lost time (within a science fiction context). A suspicion that I have is that the producers/writers may be trying to communicate or tie in some subtle commentary about slavery as it relates to the dark/evil potential of our human nature. We are also drawing our assumptions on the very limited context that's available. As with most shows/seasons, it's very likely that season 2 will take some major turns and bring brand new revelations right from the start. We would then look back at the current clues and more easily see what they represented.

These video have been really well researched and strongly presented, well done! I find it interesting that at the end of the season there's tension in the town about there not being enough resources for everybody now that Colony House is effectively gone, and then a bus filled with who-knows-how-many people pulls up. It's like whoever is running things is saying, oh you're worried about feeding and housing so many people are you, well here's another thirty people to sort out, good luck. Not to mention this is a major logistical issue and Mr Fish & Loaves appears to be out of action. I worry that From is going to force us to ask so many questions and develop so many theories that when the writers do start offering up some answers they won't be as satisfying as the answers we've already determined to be the "correct" ones and the show will suffer as a result. A bit like what happened with Westworld, although admittedly Westworld did go off the rails for other reasons too.

I loved this show from the start and was surprised it being on a secondary streaming service, but I absolutely love you jungian perspective and theres a lot that you thought of that didn't cross my mind. How you mentioned time and how they would start to play with that idea, made me think that when the girlfriend that arrives on the bus next season. She won't even know that her girlfriend was missing, because no time has passed in "the real world" and this is what will make the relationship most awkward because she grew close to Kenny because they spent so much time in the town together. This show is putting in the detail and effort to be great. I'm so excited.

9:40 Time in a bottle: This reminds me of how people put messages in bottles & throw into the water - In one of the crayon drawings Ethan was looking through, one of them looked like a flood where the water was halfway up the outside front wall of a house in the town. I wish I had found this a long time ago! This was by far the best analysis of what is going on in my opinion! I'm sick of hearing about aliens and being stuck in VR! The idea about it being a collective consciousness was really cool! I was thinking that the town was a bubble of psychic energy from mass tragedies that occurred over time and that is controlled by the children! What are children afraid of? The dark, vampires, monsters and spiders...things from the creepy woods that surrounded the town! Also all the children's stories about magic quests and what not, not to mention that Ethans parents were about to get divorced and what better way to keep them together than trapping them in a place that they can't leave? Victor, I'm guessing is the key, who is also like a child trapped in a grown man's body...I love this show and I'm hoping that you have seen the new trailer for season 2 and will talk about it 👍

Where are you getting such clear screenshots of the scenes? (i.e. the coordinates) I've been going through it in 4K and noticed the calendar in room where Trudy dies is a Rendez-Move one, same brand as Boyd's trailer. They also include a Creelman's Cola logo in every episode and both Tian Chen (in the Diner storage) and Victor (in his truck) have a creel.

I love how dedicated you are with your research! This is some fascinating stuff. I hope the people aren't dead, and this is all just some form of purgatory. The creators of Lost already did that and tricked us the whole time which made no sense in the end.. I'm hoping everyone is alive, including the creatures. At first glance, the creatures resemble and share many characteristics of Dopplegangers from D&D and mythology more than any other creature including Ghouls, Ghast, vampires, Wendigo, ghosts, Sluaghs, etc. My best guess is the town is a real town, but it may now exist in some alternate dimension that is shielded from our dimension. Guess time will tell. *Edit* In regards to Draugrs, they are zombie like skeletal undead. These creatures are definitely not Draugrs. It makes no sense. They sleep, eat, speak, shape change, think and react like intelligent beings, etc.

This is pretty far-fetched but I think this show is in some relation, connected to Lost and the island. So back in the season finale, we were shown the cave paintings and most particularly, the symbol and the people arriving on boats. The boat and the lighthouse aspect jumped out to me as strange because this area has always been identified as being in the middle of North America. The symbol itself looked different from other depictions as seen online and in drawings. It of course has the three distinct markings but pay attention to the outline. This is far-fetched I know but this resembles a topographical view of the island from "lost." What if the twist if this show is that what drove the island is also driving this place as well? I assume it operates sort of the same. The town jumps across the USA, capturing unwitting victims who are trapped in this strange land. It also traps the spirits of the dead just like the island. Hallucinations, mysteries, etc. We just need to see a polar bear. If this is some sort of spiritual sequel to the show lost that would be insane. I don't know the logistics behind bridging the two shows bur I assume it would be a network issue or something with the rights of the original show. Also that they casted the same actor who played in the previous. Idk, this is a great show frl.

You have an eye for the details! Impressive 👏 So now we know where your Uzumaki comes from - 🐌, cool intro animation! Anyway, I was hoping to hear your views on the following things that you could have noticed already. 1. The Constellations (a misplaced Ursa Minor, intentional or there may be more to it, the star patterned night lamp in the intro, etc. The Ursa Minor points to the North Star. Both North Star and Lighthouse have been the guiding light for sailors for centuries). If you check Victor's memories of the past, the board above MOTEL sign says "STAR MAGIC", which is absent in the present version of the MOTEL sign. 2. The set of other species that we have seen so far - Ravens, Dogs, Lambs, Chickens, Cows, Spiders. There could be some significance to this and as to why we have not seen so many wild birds or animals in the surrounding forest. 3. The Significance of the SKY. In one of the art from Victor, we see a snow globe/ crystal ball like structure depicting, the houses, the tunnels that connect these houses below ground and a skyline? waterline? above with what appears to be a person looking down or a spider crawling on that horizon. Even Fatima refers to the skies at the start with a positive note. The people also do not get a chance to see the night sky, the constellations because of the monsters. Their windows are always closed and shut. Maybe the SKY has the answers to a lot of things. Even for someone to look at the light from the Lighthouse, one has to look at the skies during night time, something that is quite not possible without taking serious risks. This could mean that the escape from this place is through the sky, something that is hinted at the Series Poster, with the road leading to this mysterious place is from the top to the bottom. Another possibility is that the skyline thing denotes that the entire place is within a larger "twilight zone" and something seemingly is controlling this place from the outside. A distant possibility is that the red creature in the cave art (what appears to be 4 legged and 2 handed) could be something of the H.P.Lovecraft's cosmic horror tentacle entity or supreme outer God Azatoth, who keeps dreaming all of reality, all possible realities, all of space and time. There is yet another Victor's art which seemingly shows green tentacles all around and at the centre, what it appears to be a black pit. Also on Ellis' Jeans in Ep 7, besides the runes carved on his jean, there are what appears to be tree branches and a strange squid like creature with tentacles in one way but It could just be a crow. Again this is like the Illusions thing that we saw on Julie. Maybe I am seeing things out of Conformational bias. The opening intro is a view of the place from the SKY. Throughout the intro song, we are shown the day time sky with ravens flying, in Victor's arts (2 instances, stars are depicted with yellow crosses - one on the Diner art, the other in the Monster trying to take the child in the Attic of a house), the whole intro ends with an upward view of the flickering motel light and a Dark sky. With what Fatima observes that even a Nightmare can become a dream when one climbs high, perhaps the way out as I observed earlier, the solution to all this mystery lies in the Skies, esp. the Night skies, which is when one can see the constellations and the places makes sure that no can see the night sky, without falling victims to the monsters it unleashes during night. 4. The Uzumaki influence from Junji Ito - a mysterious village, where anyone enters can't escape, the lighthouse and the constellations. As you have pointed out, the series appears to borrow inspirations from different mythos. 5. Time - The Ouroboros serpent that eats its own tail, representing the eternal cycle of time, life and death. There is a possibility of some paradoxes that are in play in this place. There is the Ouroboros infinite cycle hinted at the right most end of the cave painting. 6. The Story of the Monsters - From the Cave art painting, if we go from left to right, it appears that people were travelling in boats on a river and then there seems to be what it appears to be a broken tree across the river line they came from. They end up into this place, never to leave. Perhaps, they realized the entity that is controlling this realm and created runes to keep it contained. These original settlers may have become the monsters. Those Nordic runes may not be what we think it is. It could be just trees and the rune interpretation could be a red flag, to throw off the viewers from seeing the actual truth. Even the stones with those runes, it appears like two people, surrounded by trees, with the view of sun on the left and moon on the right. 7. Death and Dream - We see that people of this town can dream and can die. This reminds me of another H.P.Lovecraft's works: The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath/ Dreamlands/ The White Ship. If you have not read, I really recommend these because the Lighthouse and Ship is central. Then there is the Lake of Tears, which seems to be an art showing few houses, each houses within bubbles, dead trees on a shore of what appears to be the lake. While the dream offers visions of another place (Victor's room) as he keeps drawing of the crash from episode 1, this visions also seems to be prophetic of an ominous warning - hearing someone scream when the spiders came "down" from the ceiling. If we consider the snow globe art depiction by Victor, then it is possible that there is a ceiling that resembles the sky and there could be the spider above it (figurative or literal). Dreams, Visions, whispers - another common trope within Lovecraftian mythos, due to influence of Outer Gods. The whole approach of a horror that neither the people of the town, not the viewers able to comprehend gives some hint that this could be a cosmic horror mixed with self discovery on what is real. Dream and Death perhaps are windows and doors respectively out of what is perceived as real. 8. Moon - The overlooked entity. Moon has been long associated with mind, dreams, death, etc across various mythos, fantasies and fictions. The only time we have seen it when Fatima shows it in Episode 2. This is also the only time we see few stars on the skyline, which also appears to be cloudy mostly. "When you climb high enough, even a nightmare can look like a dream" - This line along with the moon, the stars (constellations), the snow globe/ crystal ball drawing, the dream version scenes, Boyd's wife trying to kill everyone so all can wake up from the nightmare, the spiders (Like from Beyond the Aquila Rift) - From may well fit a true cosmic existential horror, making the people, be it the denizens of the town or viewers alike to ask the first question of all questions - What is Real/ Reality? Also, have you figured out the name of the Elementary & High School Building? I am really interested to hear your views on these things.

Since the Season 2 trailer was released with a very specific song to my observation above, the STARS are the way out and is connected to the DREAMLANDS from Lovercraft's The Dream-Quest of Unknown Kadath and I am more inclined with that possibility now more than ever. If this is the case, From will become the one of the best Lovecraftian horrors ever made on screen. Ahhh, you're right!! Lamia! I watch Raised By Wolves (love the haunting opening song!) and I'm waiting for FromLand's breakdown of it. I'm sure I'm missing some things! Speaking of haunting opening songs, "From" doing the usually cheerful "Que Sera Sera" in that creepy minor key is really effective. Yikes!

its great bc its not the cheesy netflix shit, this show shows real gore and stuff you can't really show on netflix or hulu cause they're more "family" friendly this show is amazing

The producers clearly have a direction for the show that spans several seasons but I have to say leaving so many questions unanswered in the s 1 finale was really risky if the show didn't get renewed. Hopefully we'll be able to see all these ideas get properly explored in future seasons.
