There's an incredible episode of Cavett with Danny Kaye, who had a broken leg but was still starring in "Two By Two." The guest following Danny Kaye was Julie (Catwoman/My Living Doll/Stupefyin' Jones) Newmar, who walked past the sitting, sprawled out Kaye. (Remember, broken leg.) Danny did a dumbfounded double take and sat/sprawled with a stupefied look on his and didn't move for at least 5 minutes, an eternity on television. And no one could stop laughing.

A wonderful talented man who gave his life to help children in crisis, most actors today are lost in money, more Instagram followers, drugs, ego.

He had immeasurable talent! Marvelous entertainer in every way!🙌 What I love so much is that, that's not all he was. He was an incredible and loving man.🥰🥺 Danny, we need you back!

Danny was so entertaining and such a wonderful person. And a UNICEF Ambassador too...

Watching Danny the only person who compares is Robin Williams. Same lighting wit but a pervasive melancholy. That is their public persona at any rate. Loved them both. ❤️

Do you have the whole episode? If so I would love to see the whole episode when Danny Kaye was the guest.

The two people I most admire out of Hollywood are the magnificent Audrey Hepburn and the wonderful Danny Kaye.

I wholeheartedly agree. The two most wonderful people were both longtime workers for UNICEF. Beautiful.

Is it me or is Cavett giving all the "swinging" nonsense in the beginning as a very specific Danny Kaye inside double entendre....Kaye looks uncomfortable enough with it😁
@zoedean14525 жыл бұрын
nondescript I think Danny felt dick was being rather ridiculous claiming he could swing all the time without stopping and frankly, I think he was too. I don’t blame Danny for looking at him like “I call BS” lol

I grew up in the 80s and 90s and I remember all these UNICEF ads when I was a child, I hated images of suffering children and one of these commercials is still haunting me today...

What an awful interviewer Dick Cavett was...all about him. There's no sense of joy or pleasure in being in the company of such a multi-talented icon. Why did he even bother inviting him on? Aside from that, Danny Kaye is charming, pleasant, intelligent, informative and entertaining. A superb professional. We have never seen his like since he sadly died far too soon. 'The pellet with the poison's in the flagon with the dragon; the vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true!'

I was coming here to say the same thing. That guy is the worst interviewer. But seems as if Danny handled it well by staring at him.
