Solid reinforcement right where it's needed! That deck's going to be so big you could camp/sleep on it!

I just found your channel And subscribed to it this evening. As someone who is getting ready to take on the task of modding their first small boat, I'd like to thank you for taking the time to document all of your work. You are an inspiration to me. Good fishing.

hell yea man, great work! would be cool to see a livewell put in under the front bench seat
@BassBrothersFishingDMV3 жыл бұрын
It would if weight wasn't such an issue with it being a 32" hull. Portable live well will probably happen.

I have a little 1232 that I have been thinking about converting. I took it out the other day and it was a little sketchy for me at 6ft, 240. But I think I may buy some float pods for it. I really want to use it to get out on the Patuxent and Potomac to do a little crabbing but want to make sure it’s a little safer for me.
@BassBrothersFishingDMV3 жыл бұрын
Yea the float pods is probably a good idea. This boat may end up getting some as well.

Every time I watch one of your videos it just adds to the inspiration you want it to have. One thing makes me nervous though. When you are drilling, even though it seems that you are trying to be as cautious as you can… try putting on a pair of rubber gloves that’s thick enough to prevent from getting an aluminum splinter.
@BassBrothersFishingDMV3 жыл бұрын
Good advice. Sometimes I forget to wear gloves and have paid for it almost every time lol.

Excellent work as usual. I enjoy following your builds and have learned a lot. Q: With the width of the boat being small, and the two hatches taking up all most all of the width, do you think you still needed to install the side rails? I notice you did not use them (yet) to support the deck extension, and it sure seems that the structure you have in place at this point would be strong enough to support that portion of the deck. As always, thanks for taking the time to share your work, we are all a lot smarter because of you..
@BassBrothersFishingDMV3 жыл бұрын
Thanks Richard. Great question. That's the trick. Once I put the aluminum hatches in, the edges around the hatch will cover the framing I did leaving nothing to support the decking even though its such a small space. I can't wait to get to that part of the build because I'm sure others may be thinking the same thing.

On the floor here. Did you just put foam underneath and then use the 2 cross railings to rivet too. Using the foam as a support?
@paulpapamarkos2523 жыл бұрын
What thickness of aluminum will be used for the actual deck that attaches to the framing.
@BassBrothersFishingDMV3 жыл бұрын
1/16th aka .063.

Man, I am really enjoying this build! Thank you for the step by step. A little off subject but do you guys use a keyword generating program. I am really struggling getting exposure and would appreciate any tips.
@BassBrothersFishingDMV3 жыл бұрын
No keyword generators. I just use tags that are in my title and description.

Hey brother, What kind of pop riveter and sheet metal shears are you using? I looked at Lowe's yesterday and didn't see anything. I would have used your name, but I'm not sure how to spell it.
@BassBrothersFishingDMV3 жыл бұрын
The riveter is the milwaukee electric rivet gun and a milwaukee band saw.
