Hey Tom just wanted to tell you I enjoy your videos, and I think they are the best. There's something instructive about your voice and your teaching method is great thank you!

Purple stripes on the belt. That is awesome!

I like to tie off the kimura-ed arm with their belt, or the tails of their lapels. If you have their other arm stapled with your shin, you have one arm to choke with and they have no arms/hands to defend with. Breadcutter, arrow choke, bow and arrow, etc. It’s a very high percentage series. And, as a really old dude, it keeps me on top.

I go for the scissor choke almost every time I’m in that position and usually finish. Usually have to adjust my legs so my boney knees are set nicely at the wind pipe though.

Man this video is right up my alley I always go to north south and try to hit the kimura / armbar combo if I can get to a good side control. You just opened my eyes to a bunch of other stuff for sure I do appreciate the videos keep them coming.

This is incredible. Probably your best video that I’ve ever seen. This really helps me to tie it all together. It’s amazing how one can chain so many techniques together and use one technique to set up another. I think I’m really starting to understand Jiujitsu now!

What if they keep turning away from you to their belly and going to turtle before you get the grip? I have been having this issue.

get deep into their armpits and practice just keeping them fl;at then when they turn: attack! Just reps and timing. (-: Tom Davey

One day, professor Tom. One day, I'm coming over to train a bit. I'm only saying this because its by way of an apology in advance. ;) Awesome yet again. Cool details that I'm certain to adopt. Cheers

Great instruction as always. Question. Isn’t a 1 stripe black belt a professor because no stripes cannot promote black belts yet. I haven’t heard a no stripe black belt refer to themselves as professor before.

not according to the ibjjf and the bjj community. I never chose this title for myself...… I am just a guy who grapples and teaches every day (-: (-: Professor Tom Davey
