Nice job. I appreciate that it’s straight to the point. The only thing I would recommend is adding the torque specifications for all of the hardware that was removed and reinstalled Thank you!

Good info, Thanks. A few things. Do has is shown, loosen the axle nut WHILE the car is on the ground. On those 12 point bolts, autozone (i think) has a package with 3 in there. They are a metal stick with the 12 point on one end. You have to put the stick in a socket. Or harbor freight might have 12 point sockets. But check for space. I did an a6 once and space was too tight for a socket. If in rust belt, clean out the recessed area in each bolt. I know you want to jump into getting the job done. But you need some WD40 or just a water spray bottle. Take a pick tool and get all the gunk out. If you do not get the 12 point all the way in and strip the splines, that is a bad day. The pinch bolt and nut are listed as one and done, ie should be replaced after removal. Can you clean it off with a wire brush and reuse it with some blue thread locker? That is between you and the car gods. And am not sure what audi specialty repair shop would say. Specs are for a 2017 2.0 Q5. Please conduct your own research to confirm. control arm pinch bol. torque 40 Nm/30 ft lbs axle nut 200nm/145 ft lb plus 180 degrees, some postings said 90 degrees. Snug up while lifted. MUST be on the ground to tighten. drive axle to transmission 12 point bolts 70 nm/50 ft lb.

Thanks a lot for this, i am doing my cv boot on the oassenger side currently. It was really difficult to find a 19mm hex drive for the axel and finding a 12pt M10 that was long snd skinny enough to all the way in there. I am still struggling to get the axel bolt off with a breaker bar and i did give it some wd40 but still not coming off. Any suggestions?

You're welcome. I'm glad my videos could be of help to others out there. Yea, it sucks trying to find these specialized tools locally. Hmmmm maybe try some heat? Try heating up the axle bolt a little and then try to remove. I've heard others using heat to help break loose other bolts.

@miked166 yea I definitely read that too. But I can't tell you how it is today cause I sold this Q5 back in April however I can tell you I put on about close to 10k miles after the new axles install and they were still good 👍

Hello my friend Maybe you know the number of the external connector. I'm from Poland and I can't choose the right one. I also have an Audi Q5 3.2 quattro from 2010, imported from the USA. I don't want to replace the entire driveshaft. Regards
