This job is pretty easy to do and doesn't cost all that much. Doing this could save you $$$ in the future repairs. Also do the rear differential. The Front Differential is probably the most overlooked part of a 4x4 vehicle.

Oil Filter Friday, Watch a new automotive oil filter inspection video every Friday on this channel. I used Supertech 75w 90 Full Synthetic gear oil. This job is pretty easy to do and doesn't cost all that much. Doing this could save you $$$ in the future repairs. As far as maintenance goes, the Front Differential is probably the most overlooked on a 4x4 vehicle.

Great job. It's so annoying how there's no drain and the plate is blocked. My 90s S10 is the same. Easier to pump out and refill

Fluids change as fast and often as mama changes kudoz diaperz! 2000 f250 5.7 gas superduty. Transfer case. Got fill plug off looks grey, but not gear lube smell. Transfer case says metric. round plate says new process np 271jf . I ordered valvoline multi vehicle autotrans fluid. Do I have to use tcf instead???

Yes, there is a difference. I think it has more sulfur in it. A Google search will give you a more in-depth answer. But if you're doing a differential like the one in the video I suggest using the 75w90 full synthetic oil.

@@Nicholas_Triumph_Thruxton API GL-5 - Intended for heavily loaded gear sets with high sliding forces such as hypoid differentials. GL-5 lubricants contain high levels of extreme-pressure additives to provide protection under boundary lubrication conditions. Use it and no worries. GL-4 is suitable for hypoid gear service when they are under severe service but are without shock loading. GL-5 is suitable for hypoid gear service under severe service and shock loads and not for use in a gearbox.
