Kudos for advising us to remove the filler plug BEFORE draining the fluid!!🙌🏻 That advice is pure gold to a self-taught mechanic that usually has to learn by trial & error! I appreciate you naming the bolt size as you remove them, & the excellent explanation of how the drive system operates, i.e., shaft, differentials, transfer case, etc.. TYVM!😚

NakedSolidSnake1 That "protection thing" you are talking about is a vibration damper. It is to prevent small vibrations from causing wear in the transfer case so if you take it off, you can cause damage over the long term. Do you really think a car company wants to add extra stuff to their cars that costs them money (especially a big weight like that)?
@chrisfix
@chrisfix 9 жыл бұрын
NakdSolidSnake Because bigger transfer cases weight more and have more mass to absorb vibration. Let me know what you find. I know for sure you need it because no car company will spend extra money on something they dont need.

Great video. I looked at my transfer case and didn't see the drain plug and your video taught me how to get to it, thank you.

Very professionally done. Not easy to get good lighting and sound, often when on your back and working one-handed. Good editing and linking to your related topic videos, also. Keep up the good work!

Amazing how fast you're getting so many subscribers. Seems like only a few short years to go from less than half a mill like when I joined to over 6 million. Well done
