I'd absolutely love the chance to win! Front Mission is a classic franchise, and the second game never got the localization it deserved. I really appreciate the mechanical design language of the Wanzers, since it's different from classic mecha anime but also still very distinct from western robot design (a la Battletech, for example).

My Introduction to "Front Mission" was buying No. 3 on a whim during a family holiday to Scotland, I read the manual every single night in bed absolutely fascinated by the game until I got home and played nothing but for around 4 months til I completed every little bit of the game. I've bought and played everything single one since, even Evolve and Left Alive, I even bought a Japanese PS2 to play Front Mission Online but could never really get the thing to work properly, it's been my favourite RPG series next to the Tales series.

I played the front mission games a ton as a kid, picked up the front mission 1st day physically and absolutely loved revisiting with the modernized visuals... something so satisfying about building your own mechs and wreaking havoc in the arena!! I cannot wait to replay FM2 remaster, hopefully it has a steelbook physical like 1st.

I played FM1 on the Switch when it came out. And I also remember playing Front Mission on my DS back in the day. I've always been a fan of these kinds of strategy games and the level of customization means you can dive in for a quick round or get lost in the detail for hours. Would love to try out the latest entry in the series. Thanks guys.

What I like about the front mission games is how they are genuinely fun, transports you to a made up world, like an escape from reality. Atmosphere is top notch.

FM 2 is the best FM game, so yes. Best mechanics, best atmosphere, best plot / scenario, best cast of characters (and the art is gorgeous), best level design… it’s everything a FM game should be.

I only played the DS port of first game but I think I'll get either this or 3 for sure. Sometimes a simple remake with small quality of life improvements and clean graphics is enough to bring a title to a new audience. I would pay 60 bucks for a remake of Vagrant Story in this style because that's all it needs.

Looks fun! Happy to hear that the story is interesting. Obviously the gameplay is the most important thing, but having an engaging story helps motivate you and keeps you excited for what's going to happen next, it makes the whole experience a lot better, IMO.

I just love the remaster and remakes of Squaresoft classics. This was a period where Squaresoft were at their pinnacle and every release was a banger as they stretched what was possible on the SNES and then explored the new power on the PlayStation. Which is why it was so annoying to see this game and the first only released in Japan. I remember looking at screenshots in magazines and hoping there would be a western release. Here we are all these years later and I finally get my wish. I picked up the first as digital and then just got the physical copy which came with a nice small booklet. Nice detailed review here - I love the character designs and I’m sure the story is great…

I remember getting a chance to play the original when I was younger, then I later hacked and modded my PS Vita **long live gaming handhelds!!! Huzzah** to run emulators so I could experience the games that are either no longer available or really expensive now as collectibles. I got the chance to play it even longer and it’s awesome. I’m so glad they were able to remake this game and would love to dive into it again. The 360 turning is a nice addition. Right now it’s the perfect time since it’s been so long I don’t remember most of the game. Great video and thanks for sharing -here’s hoping the for the suikoden HD remasters!!!

This was the remake I was really invested in since the original was not only Japan only but plagued by abysmal load times. Glad to see that fixed, and I was intrigued by the story since it involves a revolution from within a country.

Its awesome to See that tactical Games also got a big Remake in Nintendo Switch. For a Genre that takes a moderate time for each Mission its nice to have the Option to go into sleepmode with the Nintendo Switch. Now you can play even If you dont have that much time. Like Patents, or If you have alot of Work. So the revival ist a big plessure

Love Front Mission, so excited to get the second game in the west. First remake was great for me. Gotta say that escort mission early in this one had me a bit heated 😂. That truck driver is a psychopath driving directly into certain death.

Remakes like this are fantastic - robust quality of life improvements that preserve the spirit of the original, giving you an idealized experience - and if you really love it, it’s juust different enough so that you can go back to play the original if you ever want double the fun.

I played Front Mission 3 on the ps1 and absolutely love it, Squaresoft really developed great games at a pace that today seems impossible, 1&2 are definitely in my wish list this year so of course I want to win, good luck everyone!!!

Front Mission on ds was, after Chrono Trigger, my most played cart. Loved the gameplay, loved the story. I really hope someday “they” remake Front Mission: Gun Hazard. That game is awesome. Can’t wait to play this one though, backlog allowing….

I haven't played the Front Mission Remakes yet (oh boy I'd love to win that physical copy lol), but it sure seems cool, specially these days after so much talk about the new Armored Core, it's a chance for us Switch owners to play a good mech game on the console too. At the moment I'm trying to pick physical Square games that I let pass in the past, these weeks I've been playing FF 7 and Tactics Ogre that I recently picked. Switch has got so many franchises well represented that it sort of has this "gaming museum" appeal, and of course Front Mission is on my list of games to play.

I'm in mech-mood right now after I randomly decided to load up a PS2 emulator to play Armored Core 2, and found myself completely hooked! What I thought would be a little retro diversion, ended up unravelling into a full 25 hour playthrough. I somehow got snared by a From Software deepcut from the year 2000 that doesn't even use the PS2's analogue sticks 😅 Real talk though, my experience with AC2 made me realise why the Mech genre has such loyal fans. Combine an intriguing, dystopian story with a compelling upgrade system, and you have a game that's hard to put down.

I cried a wee tear when I heard the word "wanzer" in the first Nintendo Direct to tease these games. Front Mission 3 was my favourite PS1 game. I loved all the Final Fantasy games, but FM3 was just perfect. All that customization, the great story and the satisfying combat. I bought the FM1 remake day one and thought it was great, not perfect, but still scratched that itch. I can't wait to sink my teeth into this one. Would LOVE to get a physical copy. Does anyone know if there is a plan for a double pack of 1 & 2? I have yet to get the first in a physical... Oh man I am pumped just watching this. Great job Switchup team. I love you!

Oh wow! I haven't played Front Mission in a long while. I've played the SNES FM1 original, then the PSOne FM3 and finally the FM1 remake on Nintendo DS. I'm quite happy to learn that the first two FM games have been remade for the Switch. I guess I'll have to check out for myself how the classics (to me, anyway) stood the test of time. :)
