Front Seat Ride on the Trent Severn Waterway's Big Chute Marine Railway

We went over the famous marine railway on the Trent-Severn Waterway after a closure of more than a week. Even better, we had front row seats! Because of the configuration of our hull and rudder (we have a skeg) Parks Canada staff could rest our hull on the bed of the platform, at the front. What a ride! @@gothatawaychrisandsandra Yes. We boat out of Lake Simcoe - Lefroy Harbour specifically. We go to Orillia often. In the case when we met, we were heading back from the Severn to transit the Trent. After we turned around on the Trent we just made it through Kirkfield to be on the Lake-side before it broke.

@Martin Sumner-Smith we met Americans at Big Chute headed back and they asked the Kawartha Voyageur if they could go through first because he had a work call and wanted to be on the upside. They watched and heard the lock breaking. They were evacuated which I think just meant they had to move further away.
