As a general rule I'm watching these twice to fully absorb the information being shared here. Love this series!

Shouldn't the chart @ 9:49 show +5* of camber for the Lead Wheel when the KPI is 14*?

Wow now I understand why the contact patch is horrible on my 190E at full lock. I have to correct the KPI a lot and adjust the camber on the knuckle instead of the shock tower. Thanks again for the videos!
@RustyS133 жыл бұрын
you may want to wait for the caster video before you get too carried away. caster will also play a significant roll in the tire leaning at full lock.

Great video! Can you please share some more info on the right way to adjust camber for grip? Is it better to do it at the knuckle, top or lca?

These videos are really good. I have a psm kit in my fc and i tried staying with my alignment specs but using their offset spacers at the hub for camber/kpi adjustment. the wheel was flopping so aggressively to lock. Wasnt really sure how to correct it as the top hats also adjust camber and caster at the same time. I went back to my normal set up. Think i need to watch this a few more times haha

Question around the 2:00 mark. Wouldn't increasing the lower and upper control arm length keep camber the same? If you make a trapezoid wider at the top and bottom the angle of the sides is still going to be the same, right?

Hi great demonstration, at 2:45 you say that when you change the length of the lower control arm to adjust the camber, you’re changing KPI so you need to also change the length of the upper one, but won’t that negate the camber gain that lengthening the bottom one gives you?

What causes the top mount bearing to bind. Too much kpi? Too much caster? Kind of curious why the kit for the frs/brz goes so far away on the top mount
@doug2507 Жыл бұрын
Dont know if you guys still get notification of comments but I've been watching the whole series, I don't drift but found it excellent. I'm using adjustable arms with top mounts that allow camber adjustment and I can use bolts for camber in the knuckle / strut. In my head getting 2 deg in the knuckle is beneficial as I won't increase my KPI much when setting a - 3deg static camber. I run 7+ deg caster so dynamic is still quite high.. Is this along the right lines for grip rather than using top mount alone? Big dynamic camber negatively impacts the inside wheel which so what I would get using top mount alone. I'm already running wider track through arms hubs so there's no need to drop ET for added track. Increasing KPI would result in large scrub (neg).

Excellent! So glad your doing this. Excited for ackerman effects and roll center. Be awesome to see rear grip tuning side vs fwd bite. Spent a lot of time on alignment racks playing with this and trying to explain it and often just get numbers thrown at me for alignment specs... Learning a ton thanks for sharing your wisdom \w/

Hi! Thanks for the great videos! They are truly eye-opening. But the question is, if there are any software available to present a 3D model, similar to your beautiful setup? where people can play with the lengths and other variables, and observe the resulting camber, caster, etc. angles.

I know I’m late to the party, but when you make these adjustments is it done with weight in the suspension? What I’m trying to say is the adjustments made with the wheel off the ground or is it made with the wheel on the ground carrying the weight of the car? Thanks for the vids they’re awesome!

On google search “drift car 3 wheel” go to images. You will notice that there is little to no weight on the outside front wheel. so little that sometimes it comes off the track completely.
